At least 18 dead, 120 injured in roof collapse at Dominican Republic nightclub

At least 18 people died and more than 120 were injured after a roof fell at a nightclub in the capital of the Dominican Republic early Tuesday, authorities said.

Crews were searching for potential survivors in the rubble at Jet Set in Santo Domingo, said Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Center of Emergency Operations.

"We presume that many of them are still alive, and that is why the authorities here will not give up until not a single person remains under that rubble," he said.

Nelsy Cruz, the governor of Montecristi, was among the victims. Meanwhile, the injured include merengue singer Rubby Pérez, who was performing when the roof collapsed, officials said.

His manager, Enrique Paulino, whose shirt was spattered with blood, told reporters at the scene that the concert began shortly before midnight, with the roof collapsing almost an hour later, killing the group's saxophonist.

"It happened so quickly. I managed to throw myself into a corner," he said, adding that he initially thought it was an earthquake.

President Luis Abinader wrote on X that all rescue agencies are "working tirelessly" to help those affected.

"We deeply regret the tragedy that occurred at the Jet Set nightclub. We have been following the incident minute by minute since it occurred," he wrote.

Abinader arrived at the scene and hugged those looking for friends and family, some with tears streaming down their faces. He did not speak to reporters.

An official with a megaphone stood outside the club imploring the large crowd that had gathered to search for friends and relatives to give ambulances space.

"You have to cooperate with authorities, please," he said. "We are removing people."

At one hospital where the injured were taken, an official stood outside reading aloud the names of survivors as a crowd gathered around her and yelled out the names of their loved ones.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the roof to collapse.

Nuggets make drastic moves in midst of NBA title push

The Denver Nuggets fired head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth on Tuesday.

David Adelman will reportedly be the interim head coach, the team said.

The decision to fire Malone is a shocking one. The Nuggets are 47-32 this season and are 1.5 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

ESPN and NBA journalist Chris Haynes first reported the dismissals.

The Nuggets have just three games left in the regular season before the playoffs begin. Denver has struggled as of late as they have lost their last four games and have won just three of their last 10 games. 

"It is with no pleasure that we announce that we have relieved Michael Malone of his head coaching duties, effective immediately. David Adelman will assume our head coaching role for the remainder of the 2024-25 season," the Nuggets said in a statement.

"This decision was not made lightly and was evaluated very carefully, and we do it only with the intention of giving our group the best chance at competing for the 2025 NBA Championship and delivering another title to Denver and our fans everywhere."

Malone coached the Nuggets for nearly 10 seasons and led the franchise to their first NBA championship in 2023. Malone was 471-327 in his Nuggets career, and his 471 wins are the most of any coach in franchise history.

"There is no amount of gratitude that we can properly convey for his contributions since he joined our franchise in 2015. It is with our utmost respect that we would like to thank Coach Malone for the most successful decade in Nuggets history, setting the all-time wins record and helping deliver Denver our first championship," the Nuggets' statement said. 

Booth was promoted to general manager in 2020 after he was hired as an assistant general manager in 2017 and was general manager when the team won the NBA title in 2023. 

"I want to thank Calvin Booth for leading our front office for the past three years and, most importantly, for helping put the final pieces in place for the roster that delivered Denver and our fans their first NBA Championship," the statement said. 

"We are grateful to Calvin for his eight years with the Nuggets and know his place in Nuggets history as our first championship-winning GM will be honored for years to come."

The Nuggets' next game is against the Sacramento Kings is on Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand sold out in less than an hour, but some customers’ orders went unfilled due to high demand.

As Ever’s Limited-Edition Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb sold out so quickly, some shoppers who had their purchases confirmed later learned the stock was already gone, and the order couldn’t be filled.

The As Ever team sent an email to customers with an apology from Markle and a promise of not only a refund, but a free gift from the next product launch.

"My goodness, what a whirlwind this week has been! Thank you so much for the support. It really means so much to me," Markle’s note read according to screenshots shared on social media.

We are working on replenishing inventory and will gladly send you an item of your choosing to thank you for your understanding."

A source told Fox News Digital there was an overwhelming response to the launch, which resulted in a significant spike in site traffic and order volume. The pace of transactions briefly outpaced the site’s back-end processing, which led to a small number of orders being accepted for a Limited-Edition product that had already sold out.

The source added that the team is proactively reaching out to impacted customers with full refunds, along with a gesture of appreciation – offering a complimentary item of their choice while inventory is being replenished.

Markle’s As Ever brand launched on April 2 and sold quickly, despite high prices that sparked some debate online.

The Duchess of Sussex thanked everyone on launch day, writing on Instagram, "Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough… for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing. It’s just the start [of] @aseverofficial. Here we go!"

As Ever’s debut line was timed with the release of her Netflix show "With Love, Meghan," which premiered on March 4. The former actress was joined by her famous friends and chefs on the show, as she shared her favorite recipes and hosting tips.

Chris Cuomo addresses 'frustrating' ongoing lawsuit against CNN in rare comments

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo gave rare public comments about his firing from CNN and how his ongoing legal battle against the network has upended his life, in a new interview with Bill Maher that aired Sunday.

Cuomo was fired by CNN in December 2021 amid multiple scandals, including reports that he had helped his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in his legal defense against sexual harassment allegations. At the time, he was the highest-rated anchor at the liberal network.

In 2022, Cuomo launched a whopping $125 million arbitration lawsuit against CNN.

While on Maher's "Club Random" podcast, Cuomo said he wished he could reach a settlement with his former employer.

"I wish that s— would go away," Cuomo said. "I would settle it. I’m not looking for $100 million or anything like that. I just want everybody to be on the same page that I didn’t lie to anybody about anything."

"And I totally get why the new ownership didn’t like it, but the idea that my boss didn’t know what I was doing is silly. It was all over the communications," he added.

Cuomo, who now hosts a show on NewsNation, called it "frustrating" that his dramatic firing and the scandals surrounding it had so greatly disrupted his life but were no longer on the public's radar.

He told Maher that he had to "move past" the hurt he felt over the situation and "let it go."

"It was [horrible] for me…I just didn’t know how to handle it," he said of the scrutiny into his personal life at the time. "I had never seen six cars of paparazzi chasing one of us, people in the media. That doesn’t happen."

Later in the episode, Cuomo addressed his brother's bid for New York City mayor, and denied he would be discussing political strategy with him.

"He is so worried about protecting me because of what happened," Cuomo told Maher. "I’m his little brother. He’s worried. He hates what happened. He feels guilty about it."

"I tried to tell him, ‘Look, I made my own choices.' I was always going to help my brother. I just didn’t do anything underhanded, and I didn’t lie about it," he continued.

CNN declined to comment.

Cuomo was initially benched by CNN following revelations of his close involvement in helping his older brother strategize through his sexual harassment scandal, which ultimately culminated in the governor's resignation in 2021. The younger Cuomo was axed after the network learned of a misconduct allegation from his tenure at ABC News. A former colleague claimed he had sexually assaulted her, which he denied.

A CNN spokesperson said in a statement at the time, "Based on the report we received regarding Chris’s conduct with his brother’s defense, we had cause to terminate. When new allegations came to us this week, we took them seriously, and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action."

GOP candidate rips blue state directive meddling in police force's cooperation with ICE: 'Handcuffed'

FIRST ON FOX: An email sent to New Jersey State Police staff revealed that officers were asked not to comply with federal arrest warrants, bringing attention to the state’s "sanctuary" policies.

The email sent on March 24 was made public by Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, who said he does not fault the head of the department, Col. Patrick Callahan, but the state’s policies that are in place, as well as Democratic leaders.

"The fact that my campaign received this email is evidence that brave and courageous law enforcement officers throughout New Jersey are angry about being handcuffed by liberal Democrat policies in Trenton, making our communities less safe," Ciattarelli said in a statement.

"The blame goes to Governor Murphy, Attorney General Platkin, and the Democrat legislature for mandating absurd policies like the Immigrant Trust Directive," the Republican continued.

"We will be partners with the Trump Administration in fixing our immigration system and restore law and order," he said if elected governor in November, as Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy will be termed out of office after serving two terms.

The email from Callahan, which was obtained from the Ciattarelli campaign and reviewed by Fox News Digital, said his team is not legally permitted to follow "Outstanding Administrative Warrants of Removal from the United States," as 27,000 "hits" were recently added to the National Crime Information Center.

"Taking law enforcement action by arresting a subject based solely on an ‘Outstanding Administrative Warrant’ would violate the Attorney General’s Immigration Trust Directive," the email states. The email, which was sent out to police personnel, "operational dispatch units" and "public safety telecommunicators," also noted that NJSP employees cannot reach out to Immigration and Customs Enforcement through the phone number given.

The directive from the Attorney General’s Office says authorities in New Jersey, at any level of government besides federal, can help federal law enforcement "when the sole purpose of that assistance is to enforce federal civil immigration law."

In the state governor's race, many of the Democratic candidates' views differ from the Trump administration's illegal immigration policies.

During a recent debate, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and Rep. Josh Gottheimer disagreed on the Laken Riley Act, federal bipartisan legislation signed by President Donald Trump that expands the crimes that could get somebody into custody of the Department of Homeland Security.

"The Laken Riley Act served to undermine the authority of the attorney general here in New Jersey," Fulop said at the time. "It is a very dangerous piece of legislation as it relates to autonomy of the governor and the attorney general here, and it should not have been supported."

Last month, Murphy suggested he had a migrant living with him and it was unclear if the person was in the country legally.

"Tammy [Murphy] and I were talking about – I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to. And we said, you know what? Let's have her live at our house above our garage," the Democratic governor told Blue Wave New Jersey.

"And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her," he continued.

Attorney General Matt Platkin explained his perspective on the directive in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"Our number one priority is keeping New Jerseyans safe. The Immigrant Trust Directive ensures that New Jersey police officers spend their time tackling pressing public safety issues like violent crime, gun violence, and drug trafficking, while also ensuring that victims of crime and witnesses can safely come forward to police and report crime regardless of their immigration status," he stated. "Under the Immigrant Trust Directive, state and local law enforcement have and will continue to work with federal authorities to remove violent criminals from this country. Plain and simple, there is no 'sanctuary' for criminals in New Jersey."

"The directive was drafted and is enforced with the support and cooperation of law enforcement leaders. The Office of the Attorney General, the County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police, together, recently released guidance for law enforcement on the Immigrant Trust Directive and its importance," the attorney general continued.

Murphy’s office and DHS did not comment in time for publication.

Hilaria Baldwin admits to having plastic surgery after being pregnant for 'over a decade'

Hilaria Baldwin revealed the plastic she has had after breastfeeding for "over a decade."

The 41-year-old former yoga instructor has spent most of the last 10 years pregnant as she built her family with Alec Baldwin and explained why she decided to get breast augmentation.

"Since I was breastfeeding for so long, it was one of these things I decided to do, like, a little up," she said during Sunday's episode of the couple's TLC show, "The Baldwins."

"I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for over a decade," Hilaria added while chatting with a friend about her decision. "I think this is the first time that I’ve not been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since I’ve started having kids."

She chose to breastfeed all of her children.

"I got used to my body more or less a certain way then, as most women know who breastfeed, when the milk goes out – it's a different, much lower reality."

"For me, my decision, my journey was I breastfed. I felt, you know, comfortable in the way I looked before. I didn't look that way once the milk dried up, and I made a choice."

"So it's just to make myself feel okay, and that's okay."

While Hilaria noted it was a "common thing" to have breast augmentation after breastfeeding, she worries about the impact it could have on her eldest daughter, Carmen.

"And I want to try to protect Carmen because I’ve experienced a lot of self-doubt and listened to the criticism more than I should have listened to it. From opinions and certain types of media."

In addition to Baldwin's seven children with Hilaria, the "30 Rock" actor is also father to Ireland Baldwin. He shares Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Kevin Hassett doubles down on Trump tariffs, says dozens of countries are asking to negotiate

White House Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett doubled down on the effectiveness of President Donald Trump's tariffs on Sunday, saying dozens of countries are now seeking to open negotiations and U.S. manufacturing is booming.

Hassett made the claim during an appearance on ABC News' "This Week" with host George Stephanopoulos. He said that over 50 countries have already said they want to negotiate new trade agreements with Trump's administration since the tariffs hit last week, though he acknowledged there may be short-term pain for consumers.

He pointed to the decrease in prices that has existed since China entered the World Trade Organization in 2000, arguing that the loss of jobs outweighs the low prices.

"If cheap goods were the answer, if cheap goods were going to make Americans' real wages better off, then real incomes would have gone up over that time. Instead, they went down because wages went down more than prices went down. So we got the cheap goods at the grocery store, but then we had fewer jobs," he said.

Hassett added that he has received "anecdotal word" that some U.S. auto plants are adding second shifts to their work schedules in response to the tariffs.

Stephanopoulos then pressed Hassett to explain why Russia wasn't targeted with any additional tariffs.

"There's obviously an ongoing negotiation with Russia and Ukraine, and I think the president made the decision not to conflate the two issues. It doesn't mean that Russia in the fullness of time, is going to be treated wildly different than every other country," Hassett responded.

"But Russia's one of the only countries, one of few countries that is not subject to these new tariffs, aren't they?" Stephanopoulos pressed.

"They're in the middle of a negotiation, George, aren't they?" Hassett countered. "Would you literally advise that you go in and put a whole bunch of new things on the table in the middle of a negotiation that affects so many American and Ukrainian and Russian lives?"

"Negotiators do that all the time," Stephanopoulos argued.

"Russia is in the midst of negotiations over peace that affects really thousands and thousands of lives of people and that's what President Trump's focused on right now," Hassett said.
