Jon Sumrall shares hilarious response to hearing his Florida team is favored against Ole Miss

The Florida Gators welcome the Ole Miss Rebels to Gainesville on Saturday afternoon, and while Florida head coach Jon Sumrall is confident in his team's ability to upset the No. 4 team in the nation, that doesn't mean he has to agree with what Vegas is saying ahead of the monster SEC match up.

During his Monday press conference, Sumrall reflected on the Gators' 44-39 win on the road at Auburn before turning the page to what will be his first primetime match up while manning the sideline in The Swamp with the Rebels in town.

When a reporter indicated that Florida was favored in the game as of Monday afternoon, he looked to his right before delivering a funny, yet also authentic reaction.

"Who has us favored against these guys?" Sumrall asked the room.

When the reporter indicated that it was Vegas that had the Gators favored, Sumrall joked that "there are a lot of good drugs out there."

Florida is 3-0 on the season and will welcome Ole Miss to town having just jumped into the AP Top 25 Poll at No. 21, but it is quite clear that the sportsbooks see Saturday's contest as a major letdown spot for a Rebels team removed from taking down LSU at home in one of the most emotional games you'll ever see.

If you believe in trap games, this is as trappy as they come.

It's not an easy task for a team to come off such an emotional high like Ole Miss experienced against LSU, immediately put it in the rear-view, and turn the focus to what will be a mighty stiff test against a Florida team looking to enter the contender conversation playing on its own turf.

LANE KIFFIN WALKED BACK INTO OXFORD AS THE MAIN CHARACTER, BUT OLE MISS AND PETE GOLDING STOLE HIS SPOTLIGHT

THE CRAIG CARTON SHOW–UNFILTERED, UNAPOLOGETIC AND UNMISSABLE. DOWNLOAD HIS DAILY PODCAST NOW!

One could argue that Ole Miss owns the strongest resume in all of college football thus far, with a win over Louisville in a neutral-site game to begin the season and then an eight-point victory over Lane Kiffin and the Tigers. The Rebels are also led by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who could be the clubhouse leader for the Heisman Trophy, and who has his offense clicking at a dangerous level.

Speaking of the Heisman, Florida running back Jadan Baugh may be a main character in that conversation sooner rather than later.

Florida's offense has been elite through three games this season as well, scoring 66 points against FAU, 52 points against Campbell, and then hanging 44 points on Auburn on the road against what many believe is a well-above-average Tigers defense.

One thing is for sure, and that is Sumrall or the players inside his locker won't be buying into the idea that Ole Miss is going to enter The Swamp feeling like an underdog after the performance the Rebels put together against LSU in Week 3.

Caleb Williams avoids major hamstring injury as MRI reveals a strain but no tear after Vikings game scare

The most important MRI in the history of the Chicago Bears (maybe) returned good news on Monday because quarterback Caleb Williams avoided a major injury.

A source tells OutKick that Williams has a strained hamstring injury and that he is not expected to miss significant time following a major scare during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Williams has what is being described as a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

CALEB WILLIAMS CARTED OFF AT SOLDIER FIELD WITH APPARANT HAMSTRING INJURY

That means he may miss between one and three weeks while he rehabilitates. Bears coach Ben Johnson told ESPN1000 in Chicago on Monday he expects Williams to be "week-to-week."

Netflix Sports reported the Bears have not ruled out Williams for next Monday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The source told OutKick that was a "very optimistic" outlook.

What is realistic is that Williams avoided a full detachment of his hamstring, which was the fear after he went down untouched during a scramble out of the pocket in the game against the Vikings.

SCARY SCENE AS JAYDEN REED CARTED OFF ON SPINE BOARD DURING PACKERS GAME AGAINST THE JETS

But the player's reaction was not indicative of the injury's seriousness, apparently.

Not even close, apparently.

His hamstring remains completely attached and structurally intact.

Williams was heard screaming as he lay on the turf and was eventually carted off the field amid the fear it could be his last time in uniform this season.

Williams, who has suffered and overcome hamstring issues in the past, is expected to begin a rehab program as early as Monday.

The Bears will go with backup quarterback Tyson Bagent in the games Williams misses, coach Ben Johnson said on Sunday.

Kevin Costner sparks romance rumors after grocery run with lifestyle coach

Kevin Costner sparked romance rumors when he was spotted out shopping recently.

The 71-year-old "Yellowstone" star was photographed shopping at a local Albertsons in Santa Barbara, California, with a woman the Daily Mail identified as 40-year-old lifestyle coach Jennifer Milburn.

The pair were photographed smiling as they walked down the aisles of the grocery store and through the parking lot together, taking turns pushing the shopping cart around.

Costner kept it casual in a pair of white jeans and a white collared shirt, which he paired with flip-flops and black sunglasses.

Milburn opted for a pair of cutoff denim shorts and a long-sleeve white button-up shirt, which she paired with brown sandals and sunglasses. She wore her long blonde hair in a ponytail.

Fox News Digital has reached out to a representative for Costner for comment.

Before stepping out with Milburn, Costner sparked romance rumors with country singer Jewel in December 2023, when photos obtained by TMZ showed her speaking into a microphone and appearing to sit on Costner’s lap, with his arms around her waist.

The "Horizon: An American Saga" star cleared up the rumors during an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" in June 2024, explaining the photos were taken on Richard Branson's private island, Necker Island, and that he didn't know she was going to be there until he got on the plane.

"No, Jewel and I are friends. We've never gone out ever. She's special, and I don't want, I don't want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that's what we have," he said. "She's special to me. She's beautiful enough to go out with."

Costner was married to Christine Baumgartner for 18 years before she filed for divorce in May 2023, citing the date of separation as April 11.

The former couple share three children together: Cayden, Hayes and Grace.

"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," Costner's rep said at the time.

"We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."

The handbag designer took Costner to court over child support and the validity of their prenuptial agreement. The former couple eventually agreed to joint legal and physical custody, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

DHS chief fires back at Jayapal over claim majority of immigration arrests pose 'no threat'

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin pushed back on Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s, D-Wash., claim that the "majority of people" arrested by DHS pose "absolutely no threat to public safety."

Mullin rejected Jayapal’s characterization on "Saturday in America," saying DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) remain committed to targeting high-risk individuals to keep American communities safe and arguing that crimes committed by illegal immigrants have led to tragedy.

"If we're going to have national security in this country, we [need to] know everybody that's entered this country. And so, I'm not going to release you back into the public once we know that you entered this country legally," Mullin said. "It's time for you to go home."

BORDER CZAR TOM HOMAN FIRES BACK AFTER DEMOCRAT CHRIS MURPHY CLAIMS ICE IS ‘TERRORIZING LITTLE KIDS’

"All the angel families that lost their loved ones at the hands of an illegal is 100% preventable, because that illegal shouldn't be in our country to begin with," the DHS boss added.

Jayapal, the ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Integrity, Security, and Enforcement and a vocal ICE critic, argued that immigration enforcement under the Trump administration has targeted immigrants without criminal convictions.

"For the first time this summer, the majority of people that DHS arrested were people who pose absolutely no threat to public safety, and the number of people with criminal convictions who are arrested by ICE actually decreased — decreased, not increased," Jayapal said during a hearing last week.

"That’s because when DHS expends all of its energy to go after parents, longtime friends, neighbors, when [Homeland Security Investigations] agents who are supposed to investigate serious crime and human trafficking are instead being moved to street sweeps and riding along with local police for random traffic stops, we are less safe, not more safe," she added.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S IMMIGRATION PUSH FUELS ICE'S BIGGEST ARREST MONTH IN AGENCY HISTORY

DHS SECRETARY BASHES NEW YORK LEADERSHIP AFTER ANNOUNCING THOUSANDS OF ARRESTS IN SWEEPING OPERATION

ICE arrested nearly 51,000 illegal immigrants nationwide in August, marking the highest monthly total on record, according to DHS. The department also says ICE has deported more than 2,000 known or suspected terrorists since Trump took office.

"When you have a car accident, and you came… into this country legally, and the Democrats want to say, you're not a criminal and you kill somebody. Yes, you were a criminal and now… you ruined somebody else's life, and now you're a murderer at the same time," the DHS chief said.

"It's political for them. They want to say this every day," he added.

DHS regularly publicizes arrests and deportations involving illegal immigrants convicted of crimes including murder, child pornography, sexual assault and drug trafficking.

"When you decide you're going to break our immigration policies, and you're going to cut the line, you're going to step across our southern border, you're going to step across our northern border. You're still a criminal. We’re still gonna arrest you," the DHS chief said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Jayapal’s office for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Scammers are buying Google ads to steal bank logins

You need to check your bank account, so you open Google, type in your bank's name and click the first result that looks right. Most of us have done some version of that without thinking twice.

Now federal investigators say criminals turned that everyday habit into a way to steal bank logins and drain accounts. The Justice Department announced on Sept. 8 that a Russian web developer accused of helping run a large bank account takeover operation had been extradited to the United States. Prosecutors say the group bought sponsored search engine links that sent banking customers to fake login pages. Victims then entered their credentials, believing they had reached their bank.

That should get the attention of anyone who banks online. Here's how the scam works, why those sponsored results can look so convincing and what you can do to avoid handing your bank login to a criminal.

ASKED SIRI TO CALL YOUR BANK? A SCAM COULD COST THOUSANDS

NEW! 🩺 Free CyberGuy LIVE class: Get Better Healthcare With AI Saturday, September 26 at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT

Kurt "CyberGuy" Knutsson will show you five practical ways AI can help you organize your health history, remember important appointment details, understand complicated medical information, research prescriptions and prepare smarter questions for your doctor. No technical experience is needed.

Save your free spot at CyberGuyLive.com

According to federal prosecutors, the alleged operation used spoofed domains that mimicked websites belonging to federally insured financial institutions. The conspirators then bought sponsored search engine links. Those links could appear when someone searched for their bank.

A click sent the customer to a fraudulent login page. Once victims entered their credentials, the attackers could capture that information. Prosecutors say the group then used the stolen credentials to access real bank accounts, check balances and initiate unauthorized wire transfers.

The indictment also alleges that Sergei Anatolyevich Filimonov developed and maintained infrastructure supporting the operation. That included databases storing more than 5,000 stolen login credentials and software designed to capture sensitive authentication data.

The newest Sept. 8 Justice Department announcement says the conspirators purchased sponsored search-engine links. It does not name a particular search engine. However, the DOJ previously described the same bank account takeover operation when it seized the group's backend domain in December 2025. In that announcement, investigators specifically said the criminal group delivered fraudulent advertisements through search engines including Google and Bing. The ads imitated sponsored search ads used by legitimate banks.

Victims who clicked those ads were redirected to fake banking websites controlled by the criminals, according to the DOJ. That earlier investigation had identified at least 19 victims across the United States by December 2025. The DOJ reported approximately $28 million in attempted losses and about $14.6 million in actual losses tied to those victims.

Microsoft told CyberGuy that it has policies and detection mechanisms designed to help prevent misleading advertising. The company said that when it becomes aware of ads that violate its policies, it takes action to remove them and uses what it learns to strengthen its detection capabilities. Microsoft also encourages users to report suspicious ads through its "Report a Concern" form. We also reached out to Google for comment but did not hear back before our deadline.

FAKE PATIENT PORTAL SCAM CAN STEAL YOUR LOGIN AND INFECT YOUR PC

The trap works because a paid search result can appear in a place many of us naturally look first. You search for your bank. A result appears near the top. The wording looks familiar, so you click before studying the address. Most search ads are legitimate.

Still, the FBI warns that criminals can buy ads that imitate real businesses and direct users to convincing phishing sites. The FBI refers to this tactic as SEO poisoning in its account takeover guidance. That changes how I would approach something as sensitive as online banking. In fact, the FBI specifically recommends using bookmarks or favorites to reach login pages rather than clicking search results or advertisements.

This problem stretches far beyond one alleged criminal operation. Since January 2025, the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center has received more than 5,100 complaints reporting account takeover fraud. Reported losses have exceeded $262 million.

Criminals use several ways to get inside accounts. Fraudulent banking websites remain one of them. The FBI says victims can encounter a phishing site after clicking a fake search advertisement. Attackers may also try to obtain a one-time passcode if an account uses multifactor authentication.

Once criminals gain access, they may move money to accounts they control. That can make recovery difficult, especially when funds move quickly.

The latest development centers on Sergei Anatolyevich Filimonov, 36, a Russian national and web developer. A federal grand jury indicted Filimonov on Nov. 4, 2025. Authorities later extradited him from the Republic of Georgia.

You do not need to stop banking online. However, changing how you reach your bank's login page can lower your risk.

SHOULD YOU USE A SEPARATE COMPUTER FOR ONLINE BANKING?

If you already have your bank's verified app installed, open it directly rather than searching for your bank in a browser. That removes the search-result step where this particular scam tries to catch you.

Visit your bank's verified website and save it as a bookmark or favorite. The FBI specifically recommends bookmarks or favorites for financial login pages instead of relying on search results or advertisements.

Take a second to inspect the domain before you enter banking credentials. A fake site may use a misspelled address or another small change designed to look legitimate. The FBI warns that fraudulent search ads can lead to URLs that closely resemble the real address. Microsoft also advises users to carefully review website URLs before entering credentials or other personal information online.

A "Sponsored" label means someone paid to place the advertisement. So when money or sensitive information is involved, verify the destination yourself before you sign in.

Enable two-factor or multifactor authentication if your financial institution offers it. However, do not let that give you a false sense of security. The FBI warns that MFA may not protect you after you land on a fraudulent login page. Criminals can also use social engineering to try to obtain your one-time code. Never give a one-time passcode to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.

YOUR BANK MAY STOP TEXTING YOU SIX-DIGIT CODES

A trusted password manager can help because it associates your saved login with a particular website. If your password manager normally fills your banking credentials but suddenly does not, stop before typing them manually. Check the address first. We've previously explained how password managers can provide another clue when you land on a spoofed login page.

Strong antivirus software can add another layer of protection if you click a malicious search result. It may warn you about known phishing sites, block dangerous downloads and stop other threats before they reach your device. However, no security software can protect you if you willingly enter your banking credentials on a convincing fake site, so always check the web address first. Get my picks for the best 2026 antivirus protection winners for your Windows, Mac, Android & iOS devices at Cyberguy.com

Set up alerts for activity such as withdrawals and new logins if your bank offers them. Then review unexpected activity immediately. The FBI recommends regularly monitoring financial accounts for unauthorized transactions.

Identity theft protection can help monitor for signs that your personal information is being misused. Some services can alert you to suspicious activity involving your credit, financial accounts or personal information and provide recovery assistance if fraud occurs. This will not stop a fake bank ad, but it can give you another way to spot trouble after your information has been exposed. See my tips and best picks on Best Identity Theft Protection at Cyberguy.com

If you think you entered your credentials on a fake banking page, contact your financial institution immediately using a number you trust. Then reset the exposed credentials. If you reused the same password on another account, change it there as well. The FBI also recommends reporting fraudulent wire transfers to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at IC3.gov. Acting quickly may improve the chances of stopping or reversing a transfer.

What gets me about this scam is how normal the first step feels. You want to check your balance, so you search for your bank and choose a result that appears legitimate. There may be no strange email waiting in your inbox. You did not respond to an unexpected text. You started the search yourself. That can make the trap much harder to recognize. For banking, I would skip search results altogether. Use your bank's official app or a bookmark you have already verified. Then take a moment to look at the address before entering anything sensitive. A few extra seconds can be a lot easier than trying to recover money after it has left your account.

Have you ever clicked a sponsored search result because you assumed Google had already verified the company behind it? Would this warning change how you log in to your bank? Let us know by writing to us at CyberGuy.com

Betr Promo Code FOXNEWS Offers $200 on College Gameday, LSU vs Ole Miss, Any Other Game

College Football Week 3 is in full swing, and after three solid games last night, we have the full course of games starting at 12:00 ET. To help us navigate through the 38 games, we want to pay attention to the Betr promo offer of $200 in bonus bets when using promo code FOXNEWS.

The biggest game of the day is certainly LSU taking on Ole Miss. Not only does Lane Kiffin face his former team for the first time, but he also has to go on the road to do it. It was not a pleasant divorce between the two schools, and many of the students, supporters, and even players were at least annoyed, and at most furious, about Kiffin jetting for LSU. There are more stories in this one than any other game on the slate.

That doesn’t mean we are lacking great options to choose from today, though. Alabama takes on Florida State in a battle that should see plenty of offense. Ohio State returns to the field after a rough outcome against Texas. They will certainly be looking for revenge against Kent State. Watching the Indiana offense light up the scoreboard against Western Kentucky will also be a fun time.

There are plenty of games to pick today, and the action starts at 12:00 ET with the final kickoff coming at 11:00 ET. That’s a half day of football for you to take advantage of the promo offer from Betr of $200 in bonus bets after deposit using bonus code FOXNEWS.

Security expert hails Trump's Greenland pact as a 'big deal' on par with Alaska purchase

President Donald Trump's newly announced security agreement with Denmark and Greenland would block U.S. adversaries from establishing bases in Greenland and limit adversarial investments on the island, a move one security expert says limits China and Russia's ambitions in the region.

Speaking on "Fox & Friends Weekend," Center for Security Policy senior fellow and retired U.S. Marine Col. Grant Newsham compared Trump's pact with Denmark and Greenland to the U.S. acquisition of Alaska in 1867. Newsham argued the agreement secures vital North American defense geography while limiting Russian and Chinese expansion.

"This is a big deal. This is right up there with Secretary of State Seward getting Alaska," Newsham said Saturday.

RUSSIA’S QUIETER NUCLEAR SUBMARINES THREATEN NATO, FORMER COMMANDER WARNS

"It's a little different, because we haven't bought the place, but it locks up or brings into the fold, really, key terrain, key geography, up on our northeast," he explained. "Russia and the Chinese, in particular, they can't get in there militarily, and they cannot get in economically."

On Friday, the president announced the deal in a post on Truth Social, saying the agreement would give the U.S. permanent control over security in Greenland.

"I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns," Trump wrote.

"There will be NO COST to the United States! At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America," he added.

DENMARK VOWS TO DEFEND GREENLAND AFTER TRUMP REITERATES US SHOULD CONTROL TERRITORY

Denmark and Greenland have emphasized that the agreement, which requires formal signatures and parliamentary procedures before taking effect, will preserve their "sovereignty and territorial integrity."

RUBIO WARNS CHINA AFTER PANAMA SHIP DETENTIONS, CALLS HEMISPHERE SOVEREIGNTY 'NON-NEGOTIABLE'

Newsham compared the move to Trump's previous foreign policy decisions, arguing the Greenland agreement fits what he sees as a broader strategy to defend the U.S. homeland.

"Look at how the Chinese have been rolled back in Panama. And look what President Trump has done with Venezuela. You can see that there's a plan here for defending our homeland. And this really is a big deal, to put it in simple terms," Newsham said.

TRUMP ENVOY WARNS CHINA'S POWER MOVE AT SEA IS THREAT 'WE CANNOT AFFORD TO IGNORE'

Newsham said he believes the agreement gives Washington the freedom it needs to keep adversaries out of Greenland, though he predicted China and Russia would voice opposition.

"They'll complain. They won't like it, but there's not much they can do about it," Newsham said. "They'll probably step up their activities in the territories they have up there. But nonetheless, this is a huge advance for the United States and our position."

GREENLAND TALKS ON ‘GOOD TRAJECTORY,’ WHITE HOUSE SAYS AMID TRUMP TAKEOVER PUSH

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also highlighted the president's plans to expand the U.S. military presence in Greenland, reposting part of Trump's statement: "We will immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland, of which there are many."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised the Greenland agreement, writing on X, "This historic deal is a huge win for the United States and the American people. Thanks to President Trump's vision and leadership, this historic agreement permanently guarantees U.S. security interests in the Arctic at zero cost to the U.S. taxpayer."

"Greenland will forever be part of the strategic defense area of North America and exclude any adversary from it and the surrounding area. This deal permanently and completely addresses our national security concerns in Greenland," Rubio added.

Dabble Promo Code FOXNEWS: Play $5, Get $50 Ahead of Bills-Lions Thursday Night Football

Are you ready to watch some high-powered offenses take the field to kick off the Week 2 schedule in the NFL? That’s precisely what we have happening as the Bills and Lions battle on Thursday Night Football. Dabble is making the game even more exciting as they offer new users an opportunity to get $50 in bonus bets when placing a $5 bet using promo code FOXNEWS.

Stars tend to shine in primetime games, and there is no lack of star power in this one. For the Lions, they have Jared Goff coming off of one of his best seasons of his career. He led a dynamic offense last season and should continue marching the ball downfield this year. Although he will be on the road, he shouldn’t be nervous, especially after picking up wins over Baltimore and Chicago on the road last season. Last year he was just about as good on the road as he was at home, throwing for 2,329 yards and 16 touchdowns.

On the other side, Josh Allen is a star that shines brightly in any game. He has carried the team to victory (sometimes literally by running the ball into the end zone repeatedly). He can make any throw, run past and through most defenses, and dominates the game. As you’d expect, he was great in home games last season with a strong 2,172 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. He had just nine touchdown passes on the road. What is most impressive is that he also had 11 touchdowns on the ground at home last season.

This should be a great game between two teams, both looking to start the year 2-0, and both with high expectations for their season. Regardless of which quarterback plays better, you get a great deal from Dabble. New users can enjoy $50 in bonus bets when you place a $5 wager on tonight’s Bills and Lions game, but make sure you use promo code FOXNEWS.

ROBERT KENNEDY JR: America deserves better guidance on how to avoid getting sick

Prevention should be one of the most powerful tools in American medicine. We should identify disease early, prevent it when we can, and give doctors and patients the best evidence to make decisions about their health.

Today, we are strengthening one of the institutions charged with doing exactly that.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, announced the appointment of eight new members of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. We are reforming and refocusing the Task Force to strengthen scientific rigor, broaden clinical expertise, and improve the recommendations that inform preventive care across America.

AMERICANS BORN AFTER 1970 FACE HIGHER DEATH RATES FROM SEVERAL MAJOR CAUSES IN MIDDLE AGE

The Task Force carries enormous responsibility. Its recommendations influence how doctors screen for disease, how patients make decisions about preventive care, and how our country evaluates the evidence behind preventive medicine. They also have consequences beyond the examination room: Federal law generally requires private health plans to cover preventive services that receive an A or B recommendation from the Task Force without patient cost-sharing.

That responsibility demands rigorous science and practical medical judgment.

I appointed eight new members with deep experience across pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, radiology, gastroenterology, family medicine, health economics, and clinical research. Several have spent decades treating patients. Others have devoted their careers to evaluating medical evidence, technologies, and health policy.

Together, they bring more frontline clinical experience and specialized medical knowledge to the Task Force.

TRUMP SURGEON GENERAL PICK BACKS MMR VACCINE, REJECTS LINK BETWEEN CHILDHOOD VACCINES AND AUTISM

The Task Force has traditionally drawn heavily from primary care, preventive medicine, and experts trained in evaluating medical evidence. Those perspectives remain essential. But preventive medicine does not stop at the boundaries of any one discipline. It encompasses cancer detection, cardiovascular disease, medical imaging, pediatric care, diagnostic technologies, chronic disease, and other areas where specialized clinical knowledge can sharpen the evaluation of evidence.

We need specialists at the table. We need physicians who regularly treat patients. And we need experts who can evaluate scientific literature while understanding how recommendations work in clinical practice.

DOCTOR SHORTAGES ARE HURTING RURAL PATIENTS. LET PHARMACISTS HELP THEM HEAL

The eight members announced today bring that perspective.

Dr. Seth Corey, who will chair the Task Force, brings 41 years of experience caring for children and young adults and deep expertise in cancer and blood disorders.

Dr. Patrick Hunter has practiced pediatrics for 34 years and brings experience implementing clinical guidelines, including in rural communities.

Dr. Ronald Karlsberg has spent 48 years providing cardiovascular care

Dr. Venkatesh Murthy brings expertise in preventive cardiology, medical imaging, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

DOCTORS IN TRAINING LEARN COOKING SKILLS TO HELP PATIENTS AMID AMERICA'S CHRONIC DISEASE CRISIS

Dr. Goldie Stands-Over-Bull practices family medicine and provides comprehensive care to Native American patients across the lifespan.

Dr. Louis Wilson brings nearly three decades of experience in gastroenterology, hepatology, clinical nutrition, disease prevention, and early detection

Dr. Dennis Wulfeck has practiced diagnostic radiology for 33 years. Dr. Stephen Parente brings three decades of research examining health policy, health care delivery, and their effects on patients.

These appointments add new perspectives without discarding the experience already on the Task Force.

7 NEW DEMENTIA RISK FACTORS REVEALED — INCLUDING ONE MILLIONS STRUGGLE WITH

Despite claims last year that I planned to dismiss every member of the Task Force, eight members appointed during the Biden administration will continue to serve. We chose reform over wholesale replacement, preserving institutional knowledge while adding clinical and scientific expertise.

The Task Force will remain scientifically independent. HHS will not dictate its conclusions. It will continue to evaluate evidence and make recommendations about screenings, counseling, preventive medications, and other clinical preventive services.

3 THINGS TO AVOID IN MIDDLE AGE COULD MEAN 13 MORE YEARS WITHOUT DEMENTIA, STUDY FINDS

But independence should never mean insulation from rigorous scientific debate.

Science advances when qualified experts challenge assumptions, interrogate evidence, identify gaps, and test whether conclusions withstand scrutiny. A cardiologist may recognize implications in cardiovascular screening evidence that others overlook. A radiologist can bring specialized knowledge to questions about imaging. A pediatrician understands how recommendations affect children and families. A practicing gastroenterologist knows how screening guidance translates into decisions with patients.

Those perspectives belong at the table.

Our goal is not to determine what the Task Force concludes. Our goal is to strengthen the expertise applied to the evidence, so Americans can have confidence in how the Task Force reaches its conclusions.

The Task Force must follow the evidence wherever it leads, weigh benefits against harms, ask difficult questions, and apply the highest standards of scientific integrity to every recommendation.

America faces a chronic disease crisis that medicine cannot solve through treatment alone. We must put prevention at the center of American health care. That requires strong evidence, rigorous scrutiny, experienced clinicians, and a willingness to question conventional wisdom when the evidence demands it.

A reformed and refocused Preventive Services Task Force can help meet that standard.

We are raising the bar for preventive medicine in America — with rigorous science, experienced clinical judgment, and an unwavering commitment to putting prevention first.

GOP lawmakers blindsided by new revelations about Trump Butler shooter: 'Awfully strange'

Republican lawmakers were apparently blindsided this week by new documents about Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump and was subsequently shot dead.

Crooks opened fire on Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pa., in July 2024. A bullet grazed the then-candidate’s ear, while a rally attendee was killed as he attempted to shield his family.

"During our piece that we were working on, none of the federal agencies were working with us at all. They were going to work on their own, and they told us, ‘We're going to do ours, and then we'll get back to you.’ So this is two years later. Nobody's gotten back to us," Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., who chaired a bipartisan House task force aimed at investigating the shooting, told Fox News.

"That's under the former administration. So everything that's under the executive branch at that time, under the Biden administration, we had no access to information at that time," he said.

Kelly also said the House task force's Dec. 10, 2024, report was written largely with input from local authorities and little from the federal level.

COLE ALLEN CLUES PILE UP AS THOMAS CROOKS’ SECRETS DIED WITH HIM — EXPERTS CITE EVIDENCE GAPS IN TRUMP ATTACKS

"It's awfully strange that all the questions we asked, 'We'll have to get back to you on that.' And we have very limited time, as you know, to actually get to what we wanted to. So when we finished our report, it was basically based on everything that we could gather from local law enforcement, hardly anything from the feds at that time," Kelly said.

Fox News Digital reviewed the documents in question and found that Crooks’ father, Matthew Crooks, had searched for ways to prevent his son from accessing firearms in May 2024, roughly two months before he clambered up a rooftop in his attempt to assassinate Trump.

A source familiar with the task force’s work told Fox News Digital that the May 2024 search by Matthew Crooks was not known to House lawmakers during their investigation.

TWO YEARS AFTER BUTLER, THREATS AGAINST TRUMP KEEP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT IN SHARP FOCUS

"The Task Force report corroborates that Matthew Crooks handed Thomas Crooks the rifle used in the assassination attempt on July 13, 2024," the source said.

Kelly’s spokesman told Fox News Digital that his office was not aware of federal authorities interviewing Crooks’ family.

3 SECRET SERVICE OFFICIALS UNDER INTERNAL INVESTIGATION FOR POTENTIAL MISCONDUCT

The records were obtained by Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, as part of his ongoing inquiry into the Butler assassination attempt. So far, the records turned over to the Senate show Thomas’ actions were a surprise to his family, and his motive is still a mystery.

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee told Fox News Digital that they had yet to see the FBI documents, but argued that it was reason enough that the full details of that day in July 2024 needed to be brought to light.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., a member of the panel, told Fox News Digital that the documents dump is "something that should have happened," but there was still "so much that we don't know about what happened."

"I think we have got to, I've been saying forever now, we have got to have a full accounting of everything that happened on that day, all of the failures, law enforcement failures that occurred," Hawley said.

I WAS AT BUTLER TWO YEARS AGO WHEN AMERICA SAW WHAT COURAGE LOOKS LIKE

When asked about Crooks’ father trying to stop him from getting access to guns, Hawley said, "This gets back to if this guy was out there, if he was, if he was displaying erratic behavior, was that reported?"

He recalled being on the ground days after the attempt. Hawley described how easily he could’ve gotten onto the rooftop from where Crooks fired off rounds toward the stage and charged that there was "no coordination" among the several local and federal law enforcement agencies present that day.

"I mean, this is just wild. And I still don't think we've gotten a full accounting," Hawley said. "Pretty much everything we know about this is from whistleblowers. You know, we need a full accounting of what really happened on that day."

"Listen, otherwise, we run the risk of things like this happening again. And we run the risk of it turning into a, you know, JFK situation where, all of these years later, we still don't really know what happened," he continued. "We owe it to the American people to figure out what exactly happened and what we need to fix. Clearly, there were massive failures."

Fellow vet remembers late Army paratrooper who helped Fox News reporter, Afghans and Helene victims: 'Send me'

Sean Michael Lee dedicated his life to serving others.

The Army veteran with more than 20 years of military experience spanning multiple deployments and companies — including as a paratrooper for the vaunted 82nd Airborne Division — did not retire his commitment to help others when he finished his military career.

"His entire life was in service to others. Up until the very end, Sean was always thinking of others," Steven Rozina told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.

Rozina, now the deputy chief operating officer for the nonprofit Independence Fund, which helps provide services and support to wounded veterans, met Lee when he too joined the nonprofit to continue his career of service.

ARMY VETERAN PARATROOPER WHO DEPLOYED TO IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN BEFORE HELPING RESCUE FOX NEWS REPORTER DEAD AT 50

"He immediately took me under his wing as somebody to teach you how to help others," Rozina told Fox News Digital.

Rozina outlined Lee’s impressive post-military resume, which spanned three continents, in his efforts to continue helping people.

"I think it was 2021, the fall of Afghanistan. Sean answered that call again. He helped evacuate thousands of our Afghan allies, people that worked with us, people that are our friends, that are still our friends today," Rozina explained.

MCCHRYSTAL, BRIDGELAND: WANT TO STRENGTHEN AMERICA? REQUIRE A YEAR OF NATIONAL SERVICE

"He got done with that mission and Sean answered the call again. When Russia invaded Ukraine, he went to Poland," Rozina said. "He helped set up aid stations, helped set supply lines. And even when a Fox News reporter, Benjamin Hall, was injured and was essentially lost, Sean was that guy that helped organize the efforts to bring Benjamin home. Sean was never the guy on the front page of the paper, but he was always there."

Coordinating a rescue operation from Poland via another nonprofit group, Save Our Allies, Lee was instrumental in the efforts to bring Hall home after a Russian attack badly wounded him while he was reporting on the war near Kyiv.

AMERICA'S WOUNDED, STRUGGLING VETERANS GET BRAND-NEW HOMES BUILT BY FLORIDA TEENS

In 2024, Lee again jumped into action when Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the Southeast, including his home state of North Carolina — particularly its western mountains.

"Within a few hours, Sean was in the car, and he was headed up to the mountains," Rozina told Fox News Digital.

9/11 HERO’S MEMORY PRESERVED THROUGH MASSIVE EFFORT TO ‘DO GOOD’ FOR VETS, FIRST RESPONDERS: ‘HIS LEGACY’

"I spent a lot of time with Sean up in the mountains. I got the call, and he needed me to come with him, and we slept in our cars and helped set up aid for different communities," Rozina continued.

However, Rozina explained, "when many of us went home, Sean stayed."

"Sean stayed in the mountains, he lived in tents, stayed with communities that didn't have a lot, helped rebuild family homes, helped rebuild… there was a family store that, it was the only thing that these people had, and he was there, he was always there for somebody else," Rozina explained.

AMERICA'S WOUNDED COPS FIND HOPE, HEALING AND SECOND CHANCE THROUGH OFFICERS WHO REFUSE TO LEAVE THEM BEHIND

Lee died Tuesday as a result of cancer he developed from exposure to toxic burn pits during his time deployed in the Middle East. He was still working out how to keep helping people until the very end of his life, Rozina said.

"I have a text message from last week where he's making plans for the next mission. The next thing that he wanted to do to make sure if another hurricane hits North Carolina, how are we going to respond? If an earthquake happens, where are we gonna go and how can we be more efficient? How can we help more people?" Rozina told Fox News Digital.

VETERANS FACE SURPRISING THREAT AFTER CANCER DIAGNOSIS, STUDY REVEALS

"Sean, in his own words, was a good 'idea fairy.' Sean came up with great ideas and really it was... Sean's plans were to be prepared, always be prepared. And it was ideas on how can we be prepared for the next emergency; the next time a veteran needs us, how can [we] incorporate our veteran community into helping others? And that was his goal was really to spread who he was, that 'send me' ethos," Rozina said.

Lee's work, through the Independence Fund and through Save Our Allies, was about helping people and using his own gifts and talents to do so, Rozina explained.

When asked what he thought Sean's final message to the world would be, he said, "Any help is still help."

"You might feel like you're not doing much, but doing something means a lot. So, do what you can," Rozina said of his late friend. "Do the best you can when you're doing it. And do it with a grateful heart. What Sean did: He did the best he could at everything. And those little things add up in the end. He's touched so many lives. He has blessed a lot of deserving people and I know that his memory is not going to fade."

Steel Across America ends its cross-country 9/11 memorial at NY Giants game

The Tunnel to Towers Steel Across America tour concluded its more than 38 stops with a final appearance at MetLife Stadium for a New York Giants game this week.

The tour featured a 21-foot steel beam from the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Starting in May, the tour traveled from the East Coast across the U.S. and then went to the New York City area to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 before Sunday's last stop.

The 16,900-pound piece of steel – recovered from Ground Zero in the days after the attacks by first responders who rushed to the site – has since become a symbol of the nearly 3,000 civilians, firefighters, police officers, emergency workers and military personnel who died that day.

GIANTS HONOR 9/11 HEROES BEFORE EMOTIONAL SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL OPENER AGAINST COWBOYS

"For the past four months, communities across the country have welcomed this sacred piece of American history with incredible emotion," Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller said in a press release. "Watching people stand in front of that steel, hugging it, praying over it, weeping, reminds me every single day of why we do this work."

‘THEIR SOULS ARE IN THAT STEEL’: 9/11 BEAM MAKES EMOTIONAL STOP IN INDIANAPOLIS BEFORE RETURN TO NYC

An August ceremony in Indianapolis included a color guard, a pipes and drums procession, the national anthem performed by the Voices of the Indianapolis Fire Department and an invocation from Indianapolis Fire Department Chaplain Mike Gatliff.

Indianapolis Fire Division Chief Tom Neal and Timothy Winslow, a retired major general and executive director of the Indiana War Memorial and Museum, also addressed the crowd about the connection between the city’s first responders, veterans and the legacy of 9/11.

9/11 SENT THEM TO WAR. 25 YEARS LATER, VETERANS GRAPPLE WITH WHAT FOLLOWED

"Bringing this steel to Indianapolis, and to a museum that has stood for over a century as a tribute to American sacrifice, is deeply moving," FDNY Lt. Jack Kielty, a Tunnel to Towers board member, said. "Indiana veterans and first responders understand what it means to serve."

The event also highlighted Indiana’s own connection to the attacks. Nine Hoosiers died on Sept. 11, while Indianapolis Task Force One sent rescuers to Ground Zero. Six members of the team later died from illnesses linked to their work in the toxic environment, according to the Indiana War Memorial.

Scott Nokes, a Marine Corps veteran and Tunnel to Towers recipient, spoke to attendees about the significance of allowing people to see the steel in person.

"Out of the 2,977 lives that were lost, there’s over 1,000 bodies that were never recovered specifically from Ground Zero in New York," Nokes said. "Their souls are in that steel, and if you touch it, you feel it."

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Frank Siller and his family honored his late brother Stephen Siller — a heroic 34-year-old husband, father and firefighter who, after hearing about the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attack, loaded himself down with gear, and traversed through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel on foot heading to the Twin Towers, and ultimately giving his life — by retracing the man's steps.

"This morning’s walk through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel was part of the conclusion of Steel Across America, a journey that began four-and-a-half months ago and carried a 21-foot, 16,900-pound World Trade Center steel beam more than 10,500 miles through nearly 40 stops across the country and back, stopping in more than 21 states," a statement from Tunnel to Towers said. "For over four months, the steel has been a gathering place for communities to remember the events of September 11th, to honor first responders and veterans, and to ensure that a new generation understands the significance of what happened 25 years ago."

Kash Patel reveals FBI's capture of all 10 members of Most Wanted fugitive's list during hearing

The FBI has apprehended all 10 members of the FBI's Most Wanted list during President Donald Trump's second term, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed during an appearance in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, during his opening statements as the committee's chairman, lauded Patel and the FBI for their work in capturing nine of the 10 most wanted fugitives on the FBI's top 10 list.

Patel, during his opening remarks, corrected Grassley, revealing that his agency had just this past weekend caught the tenth fugitive.

"Mr. Chairman, I'm proud to announce today, and I hate to correct you, we haven't captured nine of the top 10 most [wanted] individuals on our list. We've captured 10," Patel said.

FBI CAPTURES TOP TEN MOST WANTED FUGITIVE WITH ALLEGED SINALOA CARTEL TIES, PATEL SAYS

"Just this past weekend, we captured a thug down in Venezuela who was on our most wanted list and on the run for years. He has been captured, apprehended and is on his way back to the United States of America. That's 10 of 10. Nobody in the FBI history has done that," Patel said.

HIGHEST-RANKING TREN DE ARAGUA MEMBER EVER EXTRADITED TO US SET TO APPEAR IN HOUSTON COURTROOM: DOJ

"We, the FBI, captured more than two and a half times the number of the top 10 most wanted fugitives on the FBI's list from the prior administration," he also said.

While Patel did not say the name of the fugitive during the hearing, the FBI earlier revealed exclusively to Fox News Digital that the 10th capture was that of Anibal Alexander Canelon Aguirre, the FBI's first ever "cyber fugitive."

Aguirre led "a large international conspiracy to steal millions of dollars from financial institutions in support of the Tren de Aragua, through an ATM jackpotting scheme since at least 2024," the FBI told Fox News Digital.

In addition to a clean sweep of the top 10 fugitives, Patel also revealed that his FBI has also captured six of the top 10 most wanted fraudsters on the top 10 fraudsters list, a compilation his FBI created during the current administration.

FBI TOUTS 6,000 ARRESTS, 44% HOMICIDE DROP ONE YEAR INTO TRUMP'S DC CRIME CRACKDOWN

Patel also outlined the broader progress the Trump administration has made towards making the U.S. safer.

"On top of that, we've captured six of the most wanted fraudsters around the world, taking the murder rate down 20 points is no easy effort. It requires a team lift, state, local and international partners. This includes results in cities like Baltimore, which reached its lowest mid-year homicide numbers in recorded history," he said.

TRUMP’S LAW-AND-ORDER BLITZ MARKS ONE YEAR WITH EYE-POPPING HAUL OF SUSPECTS, GUNS IN BLUE CITY

"This year in Memphis, we accomplished a 50% reduction in homicide for a city that had the highest per capita homicide rate in the country, thanks to the president's task force. And right here in Washington, D.C., we are on track to have the lowest homicide numbers since 1990," Patel added.

Fox News Digital contacted the FBI for further comment.

Iran’s proxy money machine: How the Houthis built a multibillion-dollar network despite US sanctions

The Houthis’ rapid advance toward one of the world’s most important shipping chokepoints is putting fresh scrutiny on the sprawling financial network that has helped transform the Iran-backed group from a Yemeni insurgency into a heavily armed regional power capable of threatening global trade.

The group has seized new territory along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, including the strategic port city of Mocha, and expanded toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The waterway connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and carries a significant share of global maritime trade and energy shipments.

For the Trump administration, the Houthi advance is becoming as much a financial challenge as a military one. Washington is intensifying efforts to choke off the money sustaining Iran and its proxies, but the Houthis have built a sprawling sanctions-evasion network while controlling ports, trade routes and millions of Yemenis — raising a difficult question for Treasury: how do you cut off the cash fueling the group without cutting off food, fuel and other lifelines to civilians?

SAUDI ARABIA TELLS TRUMP NOW IS THE TIME FOR MILITARY ACTION AS IRAN-BACKED HOUTHIS ADVANCE

The Houthis operate a financial network that extends far beyond Yemen, according to Adam Rousselle, founder of Between the Lines Research.

"We’re dealing with a very well-capitalized group," Rousselle told Fox News Digital.

In a 2025 investigation for the Global Network on Extremism and Technology, Rousselle traced a financing system spanning Houthi-controlled ports, tariffs, Iranian oil, informal hawala networks, cryptocurrency exchanges and foreign facilitators across Russia, Turkey and Southeast Asia.

Control of ports has historically been central to Houthi revenue because Yemen depends heavily on imports. Rousselle’s GNET report said the Houthis have imposed steep fees at ports they control and tariffs on goods brought into their territory from rival Yemeni ports.

HOUTHIS ENTER US 'KILL BOX' AFTER SEIZING RED SEA 'CORK,' FORMER PENTAGON OFFICIAL WARNS

The group’s latest territorial gains could strengthen that economic base even further.

Nadwa Al-Dawsari, a Yemen expert and associate fellow at the Middle East Institute, told lawmakers in Sept. 1 testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee that territory is central to the Houthis’ ability to withstand outside pressure.

"The most important source of that leverage is territory," Al-Dawsari testified. "The Houthis have been able to consolidate their power and build increasingly sophisticated military capabilities because they control significant territory, a large population, ports, infrastructure, and resources."

"That territorial base allows them to recruit, generate revenue, manufacture and store weapons, control smuggling routes, and regenerate capabilities degraded by airstrikes and sanctions," she added.

IRAN LOSES KEY ECONOMIC LIFELINE IN MIDDLE EAST THAT TRUMP'S SANCTIONS COULDN'T REACH AS DEADLOCK PERSISTS

Rousselle said the Houthis’ finances should not be understood simply as Tehran handing cash to an Iranian proxy.

"It’s a bit of a misunderstanding that the Iranians just give them money," he said, describing the Houthis instead as embedded in a broader Iranian commercial ecosystem.

"The Houthis aren't sanctions-proof; they're sanctions-adapted," Miad Maleki, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital. "Most of their money is made inside Yemen — customs and taxes at Hodeidah and Ras Isa, and fuel above all."

Treasury has estimated that the Houthis generate more than $2 billion a year from oil sales, while Iran provides the group with a free monthly oil shipment through Iranian-owned or affiliated companies based in Dubai. Treasury has also documented Houthi revenue from taxes imposed on petroleum imports.

CHINA ORDERS FIRMS TO IGNORE US IRAN SANCTIONS, DARING US TO ENFORCE CRACKDOWN

"Sanctions can't reach domestic extraction," Maleki said. "What they can reach is the plumbing between Sana'a and the outside world; the exchange houses, the Dubai and Muscat correspondents, the tankers and the wallets."

At the center of that system is Sa’id al-Jamal, whom the Treasury Department has identified as an Iran-backed Houthi financial official operating an international network that sells Iranian commodities and channels proceeds toward the group.

Treasury said in April 2025 that al-Jamal’s network had procured tens of millions of dollars in weapons, sensitive goods and commodities from Russia and identified eight digital-asset wallets used by the Houthis. Blockchain analytics cited in Rousselle’s GNET research identified nearly $900 million in outflows across those addresses.

Rousselle cautioned against treating that figure as a complete picture of Houthi wealth.

"The system is more important than the number itself," he said, describing the network as fluid and difficult to quantify.

Russia, he argued, has become a particularly significant part of the network. "The Russians are definitely more hands-on in their support," Rousselle said.

TRUMP TO CONFRONT XI AT HIGH-STAKES SUMMIT OVER CHINA BACKING FOR IRAN, RUSSIA

Al-Dawsari’s congressional testimony similarly highlighted the Houthis’ expanding relationships beyond Iran, saying the group is "deepening ties with other U.S. adversaries, particularly Russia and China."

She cited reports that Russia provided targeting data used to help the Houthis attack Western ships in the Red Sea and that Russian petroleum products were transferred ship-to-ship into a Houthi-controlled tanker before reaching the Houthi-controlled port of Ras Isa.

The China connection is more complicated. Rousselle said Chinese-linked private commercial actors appear in parts of the network but distinguished that activity from proven direct Chinese government involvement.

"The Chinese are kind of… turning a blind eye," he said.

His GNET report described Iranian oil flowing to privately owned Chinese "teapot" refineries and examined transactions linked to Southeast Asian financial networks, while cautioning that the available evidence did not establish direct Chinese government control of Houthi financing.

Al-Dawsari pointed to a broader Chinese role in Houthi supply chains. Citing U.S. officials, she said a Chinese satellite company with ties to the Chinese military provided satellite imagery supporting Houthi attacks against U.S. warships and international shipping. She also cited interdiction data showing that 60% of the components and materials used in the Houthi Qasef-2K drone came from China, compared with roughly 15% from Iran.

That sprawling network is now testing Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s broader effort to isolate Tehran economically and disrupt the financial channels sustaining Iran and its proxies.

Rousselle said decentralized illicit-finance networks present a fundamental challenge.

"You’re dealing with a ‘you shut down one, another pops up’ kind of situation," he said.

Maleki argued that Washington should concentrate on the points where Houthi money intersects with the formal financial system.

IRAN TAPS FINANCIAL LIFELINE, RUSSIAN ARMS AS TRUMP ESCALATES 'CRUSHING' ECONOMIC WARFARE

"The soft spots are wherever Houthi money touches the formal system," he said. "Treasury has named the Yemeni banks and the Sana'a exchange houses that pay for missile components; it should now name the foreign correspondents still clearing for them. That is the one tool that changes behavior overnight."

Oman represents another potential pressure point. "Oman is the Houthis' land bridge and their mailing address," Maleki said.

But squeezing Houthi finances presents another dilemma: Yemen remains one of the world’s most fragile humanitarian environments, and the Houthis control ports and infrastructure through which civilians receive food, fuel and other basic goods.

"I would be lying if I had a concrete answer to it," Rousselle said when asked how Washington could disrupt Houthi revenue without worsening the humanitarian crisis.

IRAN-BACKED HOUTHI THREAT IN RED SEA COULD LEAD TO MAJOR US POLICY SHIFT, ANALYSTS SAY

"The humanitarian argument is the Houthis' best shield, and it's backwards," Maleki said. "Food and medicine are licensed and should stay that way."

"Keep the goods flowing and take away the toll," he added, arguing that Washington should seek ways to prevent humanitarian trade from generating taxes and fees for Houthi authorities.

Rousselle warned that the challenge extends far beyond Yemen.

"This isn’t just about the Houthis," he said. "This is about any sanctioned actor worldwide capable of harnessing financial systems that are completely outside of regulatory control."

The Treasury Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Abdul El-Sayed protested against 'ex-terrorists' who converted to Christianity, unearthed report reveals

Michigan’s progressive Democratic Senate nominee, while sitting atop an organization with ties to an alleged terrorist group, once protested an event where a trio of "ex-terrorists" discussed their conversion to Christianity.

Abdul El-Sayed, who is running in Michigan’s highly watched and hotly contested race for Senate against the GOP nominee, former Rep. Mike Rogers, was a leader of a protest against three "ex-terrorists" who spoke at the University of Michigan in 2007, according to an unearthed report.

The protest, chronicled by the Michigan Daily, was against three speakers, Walid Shoebat, Zachariah Annani and Kamal Saleem, self-described former terrorists who were making the rounds during the mid-2000s to discuss their lives in the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Muslim Brotherhood before converting to Christianity.

TOP GOP SENATOR REVEALS WHAT DEM COLLEAGUES ARE FRETTING ABOUT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Students attending the talk staged a walkout, which El-Sayed cheered afterward.

"We’ve done something good today, and we need to keep that going in the future," El-Sayed said.

El-Sayed's campaign spokesperson, Cole Wozniak, told Fox News Digital that the candidate had "unequivocally denounced terrorism."

"Two decades ago, he protested against speakers who have been widely condemned by experts, including in national security, for spreading misinformation and fabricating their backstories," Wozniak said. "Mike Rogers and his allies are pushing lies because they don't want to talk about the record-high prices Michiganders are paying for gas and groceries because of Trump's illegal war in Iran."

There are also questions about the backgrounds of Shoebat, Annani and Saleem. The New York Times reported in 2008 that before speaking at the Air Force Academy, organizations criticized their appearance and several Arab-American civil rights organizations questioned why they had not been arrested or deported given their apparent connections to terrorist groups.

Event organizers told the Michigan Daily that it was meant to educate people about the dangers of Muslim extremism, not promote intolerance. On the other hand, the protesters, who were clad in yellow, argued that their pushback was highlighting that the event was "generalizing an entire group of people."

SCHUMER DUCKS QUESTION ON CAMPAIGNING WITH SOCIALIST CANDIDATE WHO REFUSES TO BACK HIM AS LEADER

El-Sayed at the time was the vice president of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), which is alleged to have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that the White House requested last year that the State and Treasury departments determine whether certain chapters should be designated as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists.

By the early 1960s, the Muslim Brotherhood had built a presence in the U.S., where its members functioned primarily through student unions on college campuses, most particularly through the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Lara Burns, a senior research fellow at George Washington University’s program on extremism, told the Senate Judiciary Committee last month in written testimony that by the 1960s, the Muslim Brotherhood had built a presence in the U.S., "where its members functioned primarily through student unions on college campuses, most particularly through the Muslim Students Association (MSA)."

SENATE MAP TIGHTENS AS TOP FORECASTER MOVES 3 RACES TOWARD DEMOCRATS

The MSA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

President Donald Trump’s administration has sought to label a handful of chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists.

Trump ordered that the Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood chapter, Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood chapter and Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood chapter be considered for the designations for their connections to Hamas and the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Arrest rips apart media narrative on death of Black woman found hanging from Mississippi tree

Mississippi authorities have arrested a 51-year-old local man on a murder charge following an official homicide ruling in the death of Tasia Fortune, a 29-year-old Black mother of four who was found hanging from a tree behind an abandoned home last month.

The arrest follows weeks of intense media attention and widespread online discussion regarding the circumstances surrounding Fortune’s death in a state with a historic legacy of racialized violence. But law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect taken into custody is Jarques Ratliff, a Black Jackson resident who had a prior personal connection with Fortune.

Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney announced during a Saturday news conference that Ratliff was taken into custody without incident while walking along Capitol Street in Jackson, shortly after officers executed search warrants at related properties. Chief Brackney emphasized that while the arrest marks a significant breakthrough, the investigation remains active and additional arrest warrants are expected to be served as detectives follow further leads.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., last week warned of "racial terror" and "widespread modern-day lynchings" in the U.S. as she joined dozens of Democrats demanding that the Department of Justice investigate hanging deaths of Black Americans.

AOC’S ‘MODERN-DAY LYNCHINGS’ CLAIM TORN TO SHREDS ONLINE AS BLACK HANGING CASE FINDINGS TELL A DIFFERENT STORY

Fortune’s body was discovered Aug. 3 in the backyard of a vacant property in the 500 block of Road of Remembrance in Jackson. Although investigators logged hundreds of hours interviewing nearly 15 individuals and reviewing physical evidence over the past month, formal arrest warrants could not be executed until the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office officially classified Fortune’s death as a homicide late Thursday. Once that classification was handed down, members of the Jackson Police Department's robbery-homicide unit moved swiftly to secure and execute two search warrants alongside the arrest warrant for Ratliff.

Addressing public interest in the case, Chief Brackney acknowledged the heightened scrutiny but stressed that law enforcement remains strictly guided by verifiable physical evidence rather than external speculation. She noted that authorities understood public concern given Mississippi's history, but stated the department is bound to ensure all public statements are backed by forensic facts.

"We understand that this case has received media attention from across the globe and across the community. We understand the questions and the desire for answers given Mississippi's history," Brackney said. "We understand this case is being viewed through a broader lens – a global lens – and we do not dismiss those concerns. We are taking them seriously. At the same time, we do have a responsibility to make sure that what we say publicly is supported by our evidence and the facts."

Brackney also directly clarified that law enforcement had never officially designated any persons of interest prior to Ratliff’s arrest, refuting social media reports that a 65-year-old man had previously been identified as a suspect.

COPS DROP MURDER PROBE AFTER CORONER RULES MAN’S BLOODY STABBING DEATH WAS FREAK ACCIDENT

Fortune's mother, Christy Spivey, said police promptly notified her family of the homicide ruling and Ratliff's arrest on Friday. Spivey expressed gratitude for the police work and reiterated her firm belief that her daughter did not die by suicide, adding that Fortune would never take her own life.

According to family members and an online obituary published in Kentucky, Fortune grew up in Kentucky, skipped her junior year of high school, and was a star cross-country runner guided by strong religious faith before relocating to Jackson a decade ago.
