Supreme Court lambasted over 'destructive' and 'outrageous' birthright citizenship decision

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision upholding birthright citizenship as the law of the land enraged critics, who warned it will open the floodgates for third-world and pro-Communist "birth tourism" at a time when immigration enforcement is cracking down on illegal entry.

Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett joined Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. and the court's three liberals in the 6-3 majority in Trump v. Barbara, while the court's three remaining conservatives dissented.

The case, brought by an immigrant in New Hampshire under the pseudonym Barbara for her own protection from retaliation, challenged President Donald Trump’s executive order that sought to exempt birthright citizenship from the Fourteenth Amendment, which was crafted to ensure formerly enslaved people obtained American citizenship.

SUPREME COURT'S LATEST IMMIGRATION RULING WILL CAUSE AMERICANS TO 'DIE AND SUFFER' ATTORNEY WARNS

White House advisor Stephen Miller called the ruling "one of the most destructive and outrageous decisions in the long history of the Supreme Court."

"American citizenship is not the birthright of the world. It belongs only and solely to Americans. No provision of the Constitution can be read to require our national self-obliteration," he said.

"The constant diluting of our citizenship. Everyone can vote. Everyone’s a citizen. Everyone gets Medicaid. Everyone qualifies for food stamps," said Daniel Turner, president of the pro-domestic energy group Power the Future.

LOS ANGELES PROPOSAL TO ALLOW NONCITIZENS TO VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS SPARKS ONLINE BACKLASH

"You’re American. So is the Mexican who arrived 11 minutes ago or the Chinese spy who paid for birth tourism: Because ‘equity’."

Turner’s take echoed a common refrain among those long concerned that such a ruling would result in an influx of illegal immigrants having babies on American soil before returning to their home countries, allowing their children to vote in U.S. elections once they turn 18.

Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., wasted no time proposing legislation to address the ruling after Kavanaugh wrote in his concurring opinion that Trump’s order didn’t violate the Constitution but did violate a federal law crafted in the spirit of the Fourteenth Amendment.

TRUMP'S SAVE AMERICA ACT SHOWS SIGNS OF LIFE IN THE SENATE DESPITE REPUBLICAN REVOLT

"The Supreme Court’s birthright citizenship decision is wrong, dangerous, and disastrous for American sovereignty and the American people," Schmitt said in a statement.

"If we can't fix it with ordinary legislation, then we must do what the Constitution commands in moments of national crisis: We must amend the Constitution and restore American citizenship."

"We must again put ‘We the People’ first. The Supreme Court’s decision constitutionalizing unlimited birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens and temporarily present aliens is wrong—and disastrous for our sovereignty and the future of our republic."

Schmitt said America is already reaping the fruits of birthright citizenship in light of "foreign communists essentially taking over New York City politics."

Mayor Zohran Mamdani, for one, was born in Uganda, moved to New York with his family as a child and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Schmitt said his constitutional amendment — which would be the first in nearly 40 years if ratified — would fix the loophole the court created.

"Today is a sad day in the history of our republic," he said.

Rep. Clay Fuller, R-Ga., who recently succeeded former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, said on X that the Supreme Court put the future of illegal immigrants over real American children.

"We cannot continue to support this invasion taking place. Congress must act before it's too late," he said, adding that he is introducing HR 172 – a Constitutional amendment likely to correspond with Schmitt’s Senate version.

Former law professor John Eastman, who previously advised Trump on election law matters, said Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch’s dissents were "strong, and in my view, correct."

Meanwhile, Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet tweeted that a willingness to overturn the case is the "new litmus test for every new Supreme Court justice."

"The Court has utterly and completely failed America. The dissent of Justice Thomas will prove prescient: 'I'm not sure that today's decision will stand the test of time.'"

In the run-up to the decision, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis correctly predicted on X that Thomas and Alito would be featured dissenting against a "bad ruling."

When informed of the ruling during a news conference on Capitol Hill, House Speaker Mike Johnson audibly grumbled before stating that the majority justices put forth what one "could say [is] a textualist originalist view."

"However, I do think that this has been grossly abused in recent years."

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts agreed, adding in a statement that the ruling is a "tremendous betrayal of the Republic."

"The Justices in the majority have inflamed the all-out assault on our sovereignty and cheapened the sacred value of American citizenship. Universal birthright citizenship erases any uniquely American birthright—a distortion that was never the meaning or intention of the 14th Amendment. It is time for a constitutional amendment to correct this gross injustice."

The ruling did have its celebrants, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, and Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif.

Padilla said in a statement that the Constitution "could not be clearer" that if someone is born in the U.S. they are a citizen — "period."

"While there is nothing surprising about Donald Trump’s efforts to erode birthright citizenship and disregard laws he doesn’t like, today’s decision reaffirms over a century of legal precedent protecting this fundamental constitutional right," Padilla said.

The senator added that the ruling is personal for him as the son of Mexican immigrants.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul concurred, saying in a statement that as the granddaughter of Irish immigrants, she was "heartened" by the court.

"The Statue of Liberty stands proudly in our harbor, and New York will always stand with those seeking the promise of America," Hochul said.

Schmitt and Fuller’s amendment would require approval by two-thirds of both the House and Senate, or by a constitutional convention called by two-thirds of the states. The convention method has never been used to ratify any of the Constitution’s 27 amendments.

Texas Rangers get the nod over Cleveland Guardians in tonight's MLB betting pick despite road struggles

I finally got off the slide last night and now have won three of the past four MLB games that I've played. I did catch a little bit of luck yesterday as the Diamondbacks scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. In fairness, they were winning until the top of the fifth. It was nice to be on the right side of it either way. Tonight, we head to the American League and look for a win.

If you're familiar with Greek mythology at all, you've probably heard about Sisyphus. For those who don't know, he was a guy who was condemned by the Greek gods to push a huge boulder up the hill, only for it to roll back down every time it got to the top. That's how I feel about the Texas Rangers. Every time they get close to looking like a winning team, they have a setback and go back under .500. They are over for the moment at 42-41, and perhaps, this is the time they get the boulder over and keep moving forward. However, I think they are what they are - an average team that needs to find a way to get on a roll.

Starting pitching really hasn't been the problem for the Rangers. It has been more about a lack of consistent offense. Today, they send out Jacob deGrom to do his work. We know that deGrom's arm was blessed by the gods early in his career, but even now, he is still turning in solid outings. He is 6-5 for the season with a 3.55 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He has struggled on the road this year with a 4.60 road ERA. What is crazy is that he has three games where he allowed six earned runs. He faced Cleveland earlier this month and allowed no runs in six innings of work.

I'm not sure I have a mythological comparison for the Cleveland Guardians. All I can say about this team is that every year, they seem to be one of the better teams in baseball and find a way to win despite not having top-tier talent. Perhaps that is a lesson in roster construction for the rest of the league. The Guardians are three games over .500, and they are one game back of the White Sox, so you can once again count on them having a say on who wins the division.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

What the Guardians have always done a very good job of is finding reliable starting pitching. Tonight, they have Tanner Bibee taking the hill. Bibee is 2-8 for the season with a 3.78 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. He is doing slightly better at home than on the road. However, he has allowed more homers at home than on the road. And, he has allowed identical earned runs on the road as at home this season; he just has one more start at home and roughly five more innings. Bibee also faced the Rangers earlier this month and turned in his best start of the year. He went eight scoreless innings and allowed three hits.

Bibee has good numbers against Rangers hitters in his career, with just 11 hits allowed in 56 at-bats. Jake Burger might be worth a look at for total bases or a homer, as he is 2-for-5 with two homers against him. I'm not sure I'll get involved in the player prop market for this game, though.

The play here is to take the Rangers. Call it a bit of a hunch, but if I'm backing either of these pitchers to replicate the performance from earlier in the month, I'm taking deGrom. He has struggled a bit on the road, but part of that is from the really bad games. Otherwise, he is pitching fairly well. Give me the Rangers on the moneyline tonight.

Rare American Bible and founders’ letters trace faith’s role in birth of the nation

A rare collection of original letters, family Bibles and founding-era artifacts is offering new insight into the role Scripture played during the nation's founding.

The artifacts are on display at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., where a new collection marking America's 250th anniversary examines how Scripture influenced the country's earliest years through original documents and historical objects.

Among the featured items are the first Bible printed in English in America, family Bibles belonging to several founding fathers and other prominent Americans, and an original Thomas Jefferson letter on religious freedom.

RARE LETTER REVEALS 'PROFOUND' CHRISTIAN FAITH OF FORMER ATHEIST AT THE MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE

Together, the documents trace how biblical language appeared throughout the founding era, influencing conversations about liberty, education and public life.

Anthony Schmidt, the museum's director of collections and curatorial, told Fox News Digital that the collection uses primary sources to examine the Bible's role in early American history.

"The Bible has been an integral part of this nation's founding and history," Schmidt said.

"That's not a theological claim; it's what the documents show. The founding fathers referenced Scripture, argued from it, and built political frameworks on its language about human dignity and liberty."

One section explores how Scripture was part of everyday life during the nation's earliest years, displaying the first Bible printed in English in America alongside family Bibles owned by several founding fathers and other historical figures.

Schmidt said the objects were intentionally selected to tell what he described as the fullest story possible about the Bible's influence on America's founding generation.

"These objects show the Bible's impact not only on religious life, but on early American art, education and politics."

Another section examines the relationship between faith and government through Jefferson's writings on religious liberty and one of the nation's earliest published arguments for resisting tyranny.

Visitors can also view Revolutionary-era printed materials that helped unify the colonies, documents tracing early Jewish civic life in America, portraits of George Washington and other colonial-era figures, a hand-colored lithograph memorializing Abraham Lincoln, and busts of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.

Schmidt said one of the collection's central goals is to encourage visitors to engage directly with original historical documents.

"We want visitors to encounter the history of this country and see, in the primary documents, what impact the Bible actually had on the people who built it," he said.

He noted that while the founding fathers often disagreed on matters of religion, the historical record shows many were still influenced by the Bible's language and ideas.

"Many of the founders disagreed about religion, and disagreed sharply, but they were still shaped by the Bible's language and arguments," Schmidt said. "We want people to engage with that evidence and come to their own conclusions."

Sisters, friend charged in Texas mom's stabbing death

Two sisters and a friend were charged with murder after a 32-year-old Texas mother of five was stabbed multiple times in broad daylight and later died, authorities said.

Kitty Mia Diaz, 21; Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19; and Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, were arrested Thursday on charges of murder in connection with the fatal attack, the Del Rio Police Department wrote in a press release posted to Facebook.

The victim was identified as Caroline "Caro" Peña, 32, according to local media reports.

"She was one of those people that she was born to be a mom," Peña’s childhood friend, Zelina Ochoa, told KENS 5, fighting back and wiping off tears. "She really loved being a mom."

Del Rio is a city of 35,000 in southwest Texas near the Mexican border.

Police said officers responded around 2:10 p.m. Thursday to Val Verde Regional Medical Center after receiving a report that a woman had arrived with multiple stab wounds from an assault at a busy intersection.

"This wasn’t something that happened in a back alley; this happened at the corner near Sonic on one of our busiest roads in broad daylight," Ochoa told KENS 5.

Because of the severity of her injuries, the woman was taken to a San Antonio medical facility for emergency treatment, police said. Investigators were notified around 9 p.m. that she had died after being stabbed twice in the back and a third time in her stomach.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video, processed evidence and interviewed witnesses before identifying Kitty Diaz, Cookie Diaz and Faz as suspects, police said. Kitty Diaz and Cookie Diaz were arrested without incident around 4 p.m. local time Thursday, and Faz was arrested a short time later.

Another friend, Christina Salinas, told the outlet she missed a call from Peña shortly before the stabbing and later recognized her in a photo suffering from the wounds circulating on a community page.

"I feel like if I would have answered that call, honestly I would have been there with her," Salinas said. "It wouldn’t have gotten like that."

Police have not publicly released a motive.

Salinas said she rushed to the hospital and was able to say goodbye before Peña was flown to San Antonio.

"That girl, she was a fighter: She was still standing her ground," Salinas said.

All three suspects were booked at the Del Rio Police Department before being transported to the GEO Correctional Facility, where police said they remained pending court hearings.

The investigation remains active, and police said additional charges could be filed as detectives continue gathering evidence.

Peña is survived by her five children – the oldest a 17-year-old son – and a twin sister, according to reports.

"If you needed something and she had it, even if it was her last, she’d give it to you," Ochoa told KENS 5.

Man who set Virginia council member on fire over alleged affair gets 40-year sentence

A man who admitted to setting a Virginia city council member on fire over an alleged affair was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Thursday.

Shotsie Buck-Hayes pleaded guilty in April to attempted first-degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding over his attack on Danville City Council Member Lee Vogler.

Witnesses told the court that on July 30, 2025, Buck-Hayes stormed into Vogler's Danville office and doused him with gasoline before chasing him out of the building and setting him on fire, according to Cardinal News.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Newman told reporters that Buck-Hayes spoke at his sentencing hearing and offered "what he claimed to be an apology" while maintaining that he was motivated by an alleged affair between Vogler and Buck-Hayes' wife, Mary Alice.

ARIZONA EXECUTES MAN WHO KILLED VICTIM BY DOUSING HIM IN GASOLINE AND SETTING HIM ON FIRE IN 2002 ATTACK

Mary Alice filed for divorce in mid-July 2025, about two weeks before the attack, according to court records cited by Cardinal News.

In September 2025, during the grand jury phase of the case, Sgt. Gerrit Clay with the Danville Police Department testified that Buck-Hayes intended to kill the married father of two over this alleged affair, an accusation that has never been substantiated.

'HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER' ACTOR NICK PASQUAL SENTENCED TO DECADES IN PRISON FOR STABBING EX-GIRLFRIEND

Blair Vogler, the council member’s wife, testified that the attack left her husband with second- and third-degree burns across 60% of his body.

After the attack, Vogler was immediately airlifted to the burn unit at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and spent months recovering.

"In order to correct those burns, they had to take an additional 35% of his skin, so there was a time when he was 95% open," Blair Vogler testified, according to Cardinal News. "That has led to infections, he’s had burn shock, septic shock… a smoke inhalation injury, and burns to his lungs, so he had pneumonia."

CONVICTED KILLER KARMELO ANTHONY CLAIMS HE IS 'PENNILESS' IN APPEAL DESPITE MAJOR DONOR-FUNDED LEGAL CAMPAIGN

Circuit Judge James Reynolds sentenced Buck-Hayes to life in prison. He gave him 10 years for attempted murder and a life sentence for aggravated malicious wounding, but suspended part of both sentences, giving him a 40-year term.

Attorneys for Buck-Hayes say they are planning on appealing his sentence. They also said he is not a U.S. citizen and that in the future, he will likely return to his home country, the United Kingdom, according to ABC11.

After the attack, doctors believed Vogler would have to stay in the hospital for six months. According to his GoFundMe, he was discharged from the hospital on Oct. 21, 2025, roughly three months earlier than expected.

That same day, Vogler attended his first city council meeting since the attack and was warmly welcomed back by his colleagues.

"Recovery remains a long road—months to years—and will include orthopedic surgeries for a condition called heterotopic ossification, as well as future cosmetic and laser procedures to improve functionality, range of motion, and everyday independence," Blair Vogler wrote in a December 2025 update on the GoFundMe. "One of Lee’s greatest challenges right now is working to regain use of the left hand due to nerve damage."

Vogler was elected to the city council in 2012 at the age of 24, making him the youngest person to ever be ascend to that position.

Phil Mickelson accused of showing nude photo to pro golfer's ex-wife: 'Come see me'

Another troubling accusation has come out about Phil Mickelson, this time from a fellow professional golfer's ex-wife.

It was revealed earlier this month that Mickelson was booted from a golf club he had long been a member of following alleged inappropriate contact with a female employee before a round of golf this spring at The Farms Golf Club in the San Diego area.

But now, Mickelson is being accused of more sexual harassment.

Pat Perez's ex, Ashley, said that she and Perez were staying at a villa rented by Mickelson near Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, where Mickelson is a member, during the 2015 Barclays at nearby Plainfield Country Club when things grew extremely uncomfortable rather quickly.

In an interview with Skratch, Ashley alleged that when she and Mickelson were briefly alone in a room after Pat went to the bathroom, Mickelson showed her a picture of himself nude with an erection and flexing his bicep.

"Phil says to me, ‘I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me,'" Ashley claimed.

PHIL MICKELSON OBTAINS DEFAMATION COUNSEL TO ABSOLVE 'FALSE RUMORS' THAT GOT HIM BOOTED FROM GOLF CLUB

Ashley said that she did not mention the incident to her then-husband until after the tournament, and Mickelson apologized at a later date.

Skratch noted that Perez discussed his "hate" for Mickelson in a podcast roughly four years ago.

"Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable. He knows that he screwed up. He apologized for the action, but I cannot forgive him for it," Perez said.

Ashley said she now feels she was being "groomed" by Mickelson from when they first met in 2014.

Skratch also interviewed other sources for its story who alleged infidelity by Mickelson amid abrupt endings of memberships at other golf clubs.

Fox News Digital reached out for comments from Mickelson and Perez but did not immediately hear back. A spokesperson for Mickelson gave Skratch the following statement:

"Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately. Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.

"No person, no article, and no book can present an accurate, complete, or personal story of the life Mr. Mickelson and his family have lived. His story, struggles, and recovery belong to him and to the people who have shared it closely alongside him.

"Recovery is not a straight line. Throughout their 35-year relationship, his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported Mr. Mickelson and their family with extraordinary grace, unwavering love, and the belief that people are measured not only by their failures, but by what they do to make them right.

"Mr. Mickelson's priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves. Right now, that means giving his full attention to a private family health matter. He understands that parts of his life are public, but his family's private matters are not."

Perez told Skratch he was "not talking about Phil."

Both Perez and Mickelson currently play for LIV Golf, but Mickelson has played just one tournament this year due to family issues. He has also missed all three majors.

NFL great shares blunt advice for Caitlin Clark after Alyssa Thomas throat punch: 'Bury these fools'

NFL great Patrick Peterson has some simple advice for Caitlin Clark: Make them pay.

During the Fever’s 111-109 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, Clark was punched in the throat by Alyssa Thomas while lying on the court after a scrum. No foul was called at the time, and Clark left the game due to injury.

Discussing the incident in a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Peterson said he believes Clark needs to respond by burying her opponents on the court.

"When they play each other, now you got to put (belt to a--). You got to prove it with your play. Now, now you understand that I'm getting cheap-shotted or however she may feel, I'm getting a cheap shot now. I got to go out here and bury these fools," Peterson said. "Every time I see the Mercury show up on my schedule, it’s on from when the schedule comes out."

Peterson, who played in the NFL for 13 seasons and was named to the Pro Bowl eight times, said he would let his play do the talking on the field.

"That's always been my mentality, because we can't fight on the court. We can't fight on the football field. We got helmets on. So what sense does that make? And the best way to silence someone is with your play," Peterson said.

WHO IS ALYSSA THOMAS? WNBA STAR SUSPENDED FOR PUNCHING CAITLIN CLARK IN THE THROAT

The three-time All-Pro said Clark’s teammates can get fired up to defend Clark, but it could ultimately end up being detrimental in the long run.

"At the end of the day, you got to move on from it, you know? I mean, we can come in the locker room, and we can say, ‘Hurrah,’ and say we're going to do this, that, and the other, but you just saw what (Alyssa Thomas) just got, a suspension. And so now money is coming out of your own pocket," Peterson said.

Peterson was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL during his 13-year career. Peterson was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s. In 201 career games, Peterson recorded 36 interceptions, 122 pass deflections, 652 total tackles and four sacks.

He spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, then two with the Minnesota Vikings before spending his final season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played from 2011-2023.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native will be playing in the American Century Championship from July 10-12 at Edgewood Golf Course in Lake Tahoe.

Peterson said the event has evolved tremendously over the years and said it’s something that his whole family enjoys.

"My girls look forward to going to Lake Tahoe each and every year to not only walk with dad, but to go out on the lake," Peterson said. "Go on top the mountain and doing the zipline and things like that. So, the memories that they're able to create for the families that are involved are countless."

Peterson is using AI to help improve his golf game and prepare for the American Century Championship.

"I'm using this app called Performance Golf. It's basically an app that you can download on your phone, and you can basically have a AI coach," Peterson said.

"You can video yourself, you can use any club, any swing, putter, wedge, chip, pitch, driver, irons, whatever you need that you need help in or want to see better results in, you can video yourself, submit the video, and then what'll happen is the AI coach will tell you what your flaw is what you need to work on to have better results. And I've been using it for the last four months and it's helped my game tremendously."

South Dakota mayoral candidates separated by just two votes in shockingly close race, recount expected

Out of more than 36,000 votes cast in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, mayoral runoff contest, the candidates are shockingly separated by just two votes.

Christine Erickson, a former South Dakota state representative and former Sioux Falls city council member, is leading state Sen. Jamie Smith, who is also a former state House member, by that razor-thin two-vote margin.

The candidates have 18,280 and 18,278 votes respectively.

Smith, who plans to request a recount, said during a phone call with Fox News Digital on Thursday that "every vote does count," noting, "This is exactly an election that shows you that."

While the race was nonpartisan, Smith is listed as a Democrat on the South Dakota legislature's website, while Erickson, who served in the state House over a decade ago, is listed as a Republican on the site.

SOUTH DAKOTA GOVERNOR SURVIVES CROWDED PRIMARY -- FOR NOW

"Thank you Sioux Falls! To my family, friends and supporters, I couldn’t have done this without you. This election exemplified that every single vote truly matters. To the people of Sioux Falls, even with a close margin, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lead Sioux Falls forward for the next four years," Erickson said in a Wednesday statement.

"Even though the polls have closed, the fight continues. We know there will be a recount and I feel confident going into this next phase. My team and I are prepared to make sure the recount moves forward fairly with accuracy and transparency," she continued.

"Congratulations also to Jamie for a hard fought campaign. Sioux Falls has a bright future, and we will come together to make sure our community thrives today and for generations to come. Dana White responds to former UFC fighter Tito Ortiz: 'When somebody shows you who they are, believe them'

In May, former UFC fighter Tito Ortiz appeared on OutKick's "Tomi Lahren is Fearless" and discussed his nonexistent relationship with UFC boss Dana White, mocking his intelligence whenever his name came up.

Now, a month later, White was a guest on the show, and Lahren decided to get his side of the beef between the two MMA icons.

Lahren played the clip from Ortiz's previous appearance for White, and said she wanted to get the full story.

White first addressed the idea that he purchased the company because of Ortiz.

UFC CHAMPION TITO ORTIZ REVEALS HE FLED HOME STATE CALIFORNIA BECAUSE OF NEWSOM'S LEADERSHIP

First of all, we did not buy the company because of Tito Ortiz," he said. "That's how mentally ill this guy is — number one. Number two, yes, we loved Tito when we bought the company. We loved Tito. You know he was one of our guys at the time."

White talked about how he managed Ortiz and fellow UFC great Chuck Liddell at the time of purchasing the company, and said that Ortiz's refusal to fight Liddell sparked a feud.

"It got to a point where Chuck Liddell had beaten everybody... and Tito absolutely refused to fight him," White said. "He would not fight him because Tito knew Chuck was going to beat him. And ironically, the beef between me and Chuck and Tito at the time really helped build the UFC too, because it was, you know, the storyline that the fans loved."

UFC CEO DANA WHITE MOCKS IDEA OF 'TOXIC MASCULINITY' ON '60 MINUTES'

White then talked about how his and Ortiz's relationship deteriorated.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

"Tito did some really dumb things, like he said, and he destroyed the relationship, right? What if the UFC failed, and it didn't work? Would he want to let bygones be bygones? And no, you try to do some dirty stuff at the time when you thought you had the power to do it, and you destroyed relationships. And anybody that knows anything about me, call me petty, call me whatever you want. We're never gonna be friends again.

"...When somebody shows you who they are, believe them."

That led to Lahren asking if White thought going into business with friends was a bad idea.

"It's a really bad idea in my experience," he said. "...Being in business with your friends is definitely difficult, and it's not a great idea."

Viral World Cup fan Freddy gets stranded at airport, airlines start bidding war to fly him to Canada

Freddy, the viral World Cup fan and Germany soccer supporter, has broken the internet once again. He recently shared on X, "Our connecting flight from Dallas to Canada has been canceled due to weather. They rebooked us on a flight tomorrow evening. We‘re gonna miss the Germany match."

Then, private jet owners, major airlines, and even the governor of Utah flooded to Freddy’s replies offering to help.

WATCH THE WORLD CUP FINAL ON FOX ONE

It was like a soap opera, honestly. John Owen, the president and CEO of Airshare, a U.S. private aviation company, offered to help by replying, "What time do you need to get there by? and eventually posting, "your chariot awaits," accompanied by a look at the inside of the luxury private jet.

American Airlines replied, "Not on our watch, Freddy. Check your DMs."

Air Canada said, "Hi Freddy, let’s get you to Toronto. Can you send us a DM?"

The governor of Utah, Spencer Cox offered his assistance saying, "Hey Freddy, I’m the governor of Utah. I’m assuming someone has reached out to help you make [it] to your match tomorrow. If not, DM me and I’ll help get you there."

FOX ONE’S NEW WORLD CUP VIEWING EXPERIENCE

What made the story especially interesting was not just the fact that there was a bidding war for who would fly Freddy and his buddies to Toronto, but the fact he was radio silent for almost four hours. I, like millions of others, was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this stranded saga would end. Would he fly in private luxury? Was Air Force One on the way to pick him? (I’m only half joking).

FREDDY, THE VIRAL WORLD CUP TOURIST, LINKS UP WITH COUNTRY SINGER ELLA LANGLEY AND THE INTERNET LOVES IT

Eventually, Freddy gave the world a much-needed and heartwarming update. He posted on X, "UPDATE: We’re on the plane to Buffalo!!! American Airlines was incredibly helpful and made it possible for us to get on this flight. A special thank you to @JJWatt for organizing it while we were in the air to Dallas. Big thanks as well to everyone else who offered their help."

Notably, J.J. Watt hooked Freddy and his friends up with a suite at a nearby hotel in Houston, a signed jersey, and has struck up a friendship with Freddy that has proven again to be extremely valuable.

This is Freddy’s world, we’re just living in it. He has the world’s biggest airlines, millionaires, country music stars, the whole sports world in the palm of his hands. He’s quite literally a rockstar. I feel like this is the script for a "Most Interesting Man in the World" Dos Equis commercial. He’s the subject of the coolest sports fan story we’ve ever heard. The level of stardom is unmatched right now.

Dem Senate hopeful under fire for resurfaced comments calling cops 'opportunistic cowards'

Embattled Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing backlash for calling law enforcement "opportunistic cowards" in a since-deleted Reddit post.

Platner, a far-left populist vying to become Maine’s next senator, made the comments in June 2020 in response to a post criticizing the Hancock County Sheriff's Department for seeking approval to purchase "riot gear." At the time, Black Lives Matter protests were spreading around the state, with some demonstrations turning violent, including vandalized storefronts and looting.

Platner, then 35, dismissed the sheriff’s request as "ridiculous."

"I guess the Sheriffs [sic] Department is so full of overweight pansies that they now need taxpayer dollars to protect themselves from George Stevens Academy sophomores and aging hippies," he wrote.

VETS TORCH DEM SENATE HOPEFUL WHO CALLED ARMY ‘FAT, LAZY TRASH,’ MOCKED SOLDIER SHOT FOUR TIMES

"Cops are opportunistic cowards," he continued.

The post, which is available in The Maine Monitor’s archive of Platner’s since-deleted messages, but has not been previously reported, was published under Platner’s handle "P-Hustle" on the Reddit forum R/Maine.

The comment is the latest in a string of anti-law enforcement remarks Platner made well into adulthood that have raised questions about his fitness for office as he seeks to unseat Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.

"It just shows a complete lack of understanding of the way law enforcement operates," state Rep. Donald Ardell, R-Maine, told Fox News Digital in an interview. "They have to be prepared for eventualities."

Ardell, a retired federal special agent and criminal investigator, said conversations with current law enforcement officers and former colleagues reflected widespread disgust with Platner’s comments disparaging men and women in uniform.

"It's a series of consistent bad decisions, and it seems to be continuing," Ardell said.

Also in June 2020, Platner denounced a Maine police chief as "thin blue line trash" for declining to kneel with demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd. That month, he wrote "all cops are bastards" in remarks first reported by CNN.

In April 2021, Platner questioned whether there is a problem within policing "that extends into the profession as a whole" in a since-deleted post.

Platner has also faced scrutiny over comments declaring himself a communist, disparaging rural White people as "racist" and "stupid" and mocking a female teenager’s suicide attempt.

FROM #METOO TO MAINE? DEM EXPERTS WEIGH IN ON HOW PLATNER'S RISE TESTS PARTY STANDARDS: 'PULLING THE PLUG'

Platner has said many of his comments were taken out of context and attributed some of them to struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder after multiple overseas deployments.

"You should read the comments in context. It's very clear I'm joking," he previously told Fox News Digital when asked about them. "It's called s---posting. It's when you argue with people on the internet and try to bother them."

Ardell questioned whether Platner, who was largely in his 30s during the nearly decade-long period of online trash-talking, could have "made such a quick turnaround" in the past six years.

"If Graham Platner is interested in sort of working on himself, he can do it on his own time — not on Mainers' time, and not in the U.S. Senate," Ardell said.

The Platner campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

The newly resurfaced Reddit post comes as Platner is attempting to weather mounting scrutiny over his past treatment of women, including an allegation of abuse from former girlfriend Lyndsey Fifield. In May, the campaign acknowledged a period of infidelity during Platner’s marriage to Amy Gertner — whom he wed in 2023 — which involved sending sexually explicit texts to at least half a dozen women.

Platner also maintained an active account on the private messaging platform Kik, an app widely used for sexual encounters. His campaign said he had long deleted it from his phone.

Adding to Platner’s troubles, he has not provided a clear explanation for why several ex-girlfriends knew about his since covered-up Nazi-linked tattoo prior to the candidate publicly disclosing it last year.

A former girlfriend who dated Platner in 2021 showed The New York Post text messages she sent in September 2025 that discussed the "Nazi tattoo on his chest."

The Senate hopeful has said he first learned about the black skull-and-crossbones tattoo’s links to Nazi SS units in October 2025. He wore it for nearly two decades after getting it while out drinking with fellow Marines in Croatia.

Asked if more negative information about Platner would come to light before November, Ardell did not hesitate.

"This is not a guy that has a skeleton in the closet," he said. "This is a guy that has a whole graveyard."

Fleeing suspect in New Jersey strikes ICE agent, who opens fire

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was struck by a fleeing suspect's vehicle and opened fire during an attempted apprehension in New Jersey on Monday morning, authorities said, as the suspect escaped and remained on the run.

The confrontation unfolded shortly after 9:30 a.m. along Route 72 in Manahawkin, where federal immigration agents were attempting to take a suspect into custody, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.

The individual allegedly struck an ICE agent while fleeing in a vehicle, police said.

The agent fired at the vehicle, which was reportedly hit by gunfire, but the suspect drove away and had not been located as of Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

The extent of the agent's injuries were not immediately known, and it is unclear whether the suspect was wounded.

ICE did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment about the incident.

Local police said there was no known threat to public safety and emphasized they were not involved in the ICE operation, limiting their role to traffic control and securing the scene.

The area was expected to be closed for several hours, according to police, who advised residents to seek alternate routes.

Hanna Cavinder follows in her sister's footsteps and lands herself a member of the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys appear to have added another Cavinder to their roster.

A video shared on the twins' TikTok account over the weekend shows Haley reacting to her sister Hanna’s relationship news.

Talk about a busy offseason for the Cavinder Twins.

One week they’re discussing their boob jobs and hitting the runway during Miami Swim Week. A couple of weeks later, they’re officially announcing a new boyfriend and getting ready for a wedding.

Haley, who is reportedly tying the knot with Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson this weekend, shows her twin and her new boyfriend walking in front of her in a short clip.

LIVVY DUNNE SHOWS SUPPORT FOR HALEY CAVINDER FOLLOWING BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY: 'BOD IS TEA'

The words "A week before my wedding and my twin decides it’s the perfect time to get a boyfriend. The audacity" are written across it. Don't worry, there's no trouble brewing.

Haley makes it clear in the caption that she’s happy for Hanna, "honestly the best wedding gift from my MOH," which is good news for the WAG locker room. There's enough of a circus in Dallas without twin sisters going at it during the offseason.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

The new boyfriend is Cowboys guard Trevor Keegan and, from the looks of it, he's been around for more than a week. Diehard Michigan fans who keep up with his social media activity already knew he was dating a Cavinder Twin sometime last month.

Keegan posted a picture with Hanna, whom he also tagged in the Instagram Story, and wrote, "Signed a free agent."

There you have it. Love is not dead in Dallas, despite the offseason their quarterback has had letting a chance at a ring slip through his fingers. Cowboys fans and hopeless romantics alike have the Cavinder Twins to thank for that.

How long before there are odds on whether Hanna or the Cowboys get a ring first?

Capehart, Brooks sneer at White House UFC fight night as 'degrading,' say US is 'in cultural decline'

MS Now's Jonathan Capehart and columnist David Brooks mocked President Donald Trump's plan to host a UFC fight on the White House South Lawn, telling "PBS NewsHour" on Friday that the Sunday event was "degrading" and contrasted with the artists former President John F. Kennedy once brought into the executive mansion.

Asked by PBS co-anchor Geoff Bennett what he made of the White House event, Brooks cited Kennedy's guest list before landing on the comparison to mixed martial arts.

"Well, I first thought of, like, who are the artists John F. Kennedy brought to the White House? It was like W.H. Auden, Robert Frost, Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein. And now we have got cage fighting. Don't anybody say America's in cultural decline," Brooks said.

DANA WHITE DENIES AMERICA 250 UFC FIGHT AT WHITE HOUSE WILL BE 'POLITICAL,' 'NOT AT ALL' ABOUT POLITICS

Capehart said the event carried added meaning because it was not simply a private sports production but one being elevated by the president at the White House.

"Well, it's a significant shift because it's the president of the United States who's anointing it," Capehart said.

Bennett framed the discussion around what he called Trump's "alternative cultural establishment" of combat sports, podcasts, influencers and social media personalities, while noting the South Lawn structure known as "The Claw."

"Whenever a president invites someone from the culture into the White House, it's giving the imprimatur of the president," Capehart said. "President Obama brought in Lin-Manuel to do what then became 'Hamilton.'"

COUNTRY STAR ZAC BROWN DEFENDS UFC WHITE HOUSE PERFORMANCE SAYING 'F--- ALL THE DIVISION'

Capehart also argued that the setting and visible sponsorship inside the ring changed the nature of the event.

"But this — a cage fight on the South Lawn of the White House, the people's house that also has corporate sponsorship that you can see inside the ring — this talk about degrading the culture," Capehart said.

"This is degrading the White House, degrading the people's house, and it's just unconscionable that this has happened."

UFC FANS SHARE WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT TRUMP AHEAD OF O'MALLEY-DVALISHVILI SHOWDOWN

Brooks said Trump could benefit politically from elite criticism of the event, telling Bennett that the reaction could help the president frame himself as aligned with fight fans who feel looked down upon.

"He wants us to be talking this way because he's saying, look, you get looked down upon by people. I believe in cage fighting just like you," Brooks said.

UFC Freedom 250 is scheduled for Sunday night, with a custom-built Octagon, large video screens and "The Claw" on the South Lawn. The event is expected to draw more than 4,000 invited guests.

A federal judge declined Friday to block the event after a legal challenge. The White House defended it in response to the lawsuit, calling it "no different than the various other White House-hosted events on the South Lawn and properly permitted events on the Ellipse and National Mall throughout the year."

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Pat McAfee wages war on Omaha's famous Jell-o shot bar after crew gets cold reception at College World Series

We've got drama at the College World Series, and it has nothing to do with baseball.

Pat McAfee has waged war with Rocco’s — the famous Omaha-based bar known for its Jell-O shot challenge during the 12-day tournament.

And by "war," I mean McAfee stuffed the GM in a locker during a heated segment on his ESPN and YouTube show Friday afternoon.

"It was nowhere near what I thought it was going to be like," McAfee said of the crew's experience at the bar earlier this week. "I did contribute. But it was very much like a, ‘You’re lucky to be giving us this money to do this,’ as opposed to a celebration."

So, here's the backstory for those who don't want to sit through McAfee's entire three-minute rant.

Rocco's has become a household name in recent years for the challenge, which, on paper, seems like a great thing. Launched in 2019, the bar basically has fans pick a school to support when ordering a Jell-O shot to see which fan base can drink the most.

WEST VIRGINIA'S EPIC WALK-OFF SPARKS EMOTIONAL 'COUNTRY ROADS' CELEBRATION THAT DEFINES COLLEGE SPORTS

The proceeds are then divided among a food pantry near the school ($1), a local food pantry in Omaha ($0.50) and the bar itself ($3.50).

"Incredible gimmick to kind of publicly force people who are the boosters for other schools to come compete for this," McAfee said.

In recent years, some have argued that the challenge has basically just turned into which school's booster club has the deepest pockets. Like the college game itself, it's lost some authenticity.

McAfee, of course, made a giant donation. He's arguably West Virginia's most famous alum right now, and the Mountaineers are in Omaha for the first time ever.

However, when the former WVU star took his crew to Rocco's earlier this week, the vibes weren't great. For starters, the general manager, according to McAfee, was NOT happy he did not call ahead.

Things spiraled from there.

"Did not know we were supposed to do that," he added. "We were just happy to come and do this entire thing. So then I start asking questions. I go, 'How's this work? Do I write a check?' The guy goes, 'Yours would bounce I think,' and then just kept walking. It wasn't a joke or anything. This was the general manager."

The two then squabbled for a bit over how McAfee would ultimately pay for the shots, and then he was put in a separate room where they started unloading boxes of premade shots.

"It was very much a, 'You're lucky to be giving us this money to do this entire thing,' as opposed to a celebration. And I think they were treating everybody like that," McAfee said.

Yikes. Not great!

I'm not a PR guru, but this can't be great for Rocco's. As always, there are two sides to every story. However, Pat McAfee is a media machine. He's everywhere. Millions of people watch and listen to him every single week. Maybe more.

You don't want to be on his bad side, especially during your biggest week of the year.

About an hour after this rant went viral, the CWS Jello Shot Counter account on Twitter updated the leaderboard with a special shout-out to McAfee for leaving the "largest tip Rocco's has ever seen."

Probably just a coincidence!

Boys' sentences for rape to be reviewed in July

The case has been referred to the Court of Appeal under the unduly lenient scheme.

from BBC News https://ift.tt/0Qz7Sn3

Former Premier League star, accused of rape, to miss World Cup game after being denied entry into Canada

One of the stars of Ghana's World Cup team will be absent for its tournament opener in Canada after being denied entry into the country.

Thomas Partey, formerly of Arsenal, who now plays for Villarreal in La Liga, is currently facing seven counts of rape, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.

"FIFA can confirm that player Thomas Partey will be unable to travel from Ghana’s team base camp in Boston, USA, to Canada for their first match against Panama on Wednesday, 17 June, as his visa application has been refused by the Canadian government," FIFA said in a statement, via The Athletic.

"FIFA is not involved in the immigration processes of host countries, including the adjudication of visas. As with previous FIFA events, the host government ultimately determines who receives a visa and is admitted into the country."

Five of the charges were brought last July by the London Metropolitan Police, and two more came earlier this year.

Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz explained why he picked Partey for his World Cup squad while he awaits trial.

Queiroz cited a presumption of innocence for Partey, criticized the quick judgments of modern social media and spoke philosophically in comments late Monday ahead of a warm-up game in Wales.

USA SOCCER LEGENDS LANDON DONOVAN, TIM HOWARD SHARE HOW FAR THEY THINK THIS YEAR'S TEAM CAN GO IN WORLD CUP

"Let events run its normal course, let the river flow and one day when the river meets the ocean we will find the truth," said Queiroz, a veteran coach going to his fifth straight World Cup after leading his native Portugal and Iran at previous editions.

Ghana is set to open its tournament on Wednesday against Panama in Toronto. Ghana will then play England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium and then on June 27 at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.

Partey is accused of raping four women from 2020 to 2022.

'The View' co-host warns against Vance interview becoming 'free-for-all' to sell books

"The View" co-host Ana Navarro warned on Thursday that she didn't want the show's upcoming interview with Vice President JD Vance to become a "free-for-all" just to sell books, which she argued happens with Republican guests.

The show's producer, Brian Teta, asked Navarro to discuss the Vance interview during the "Behind the Table" podcast. Teta said people were surprised he was coming on the show.

"It shouldn't be surprising, he's got a book, right? And I think that everybody, including Republicans, know that at 'The View,' we are really good at selling books," she said. "I think it's a very relevant time. I want to ask him questions about Epstein. I want to ask him questions where he — where there's several issues where there's sunlight between him and Donald Trump, right?"

The co-host added, "The war, going into military action, all of these new wars. He seems to me to be a lot more tuned into the MAGA manosphere than Trump is, actually, and really works those relationships far more than practically anybody else in the White House."

She continued, "I hope we get to have a constructive conversation about the issues that Americans care about and are on Americans' minds and that it doesn't turn into some free-for-all for the sake of creating a moment for him so that he can go out and sell books, which is what often happens with Republicans."

JD VANCE RELEASING BOOK ABOUT FAITH JOURNEY, CONVERSION TO CATHOLICISM

Vance, who is set to join the show on June 16, will be the third sitting vice president and the first sitting Republican vice president to appear on "The View." All six co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, are expected to be in-studio for the rare interview with an elected Republican.

"The View" had a total of 341 guests in 2025, but only two of them were conservative, while 128 were liberal, according to a study conducted by the Media Research Center's NewsBusters.

In 2026, the show had multiple Republican guest hosts appear while Griffin, the Republican co-host, was on maternity leave. Alina Habba also appeared on the liberal talk show in late April. However, Habba was not promoting a book.

REPUBLICANS VIRTUALLY SHUT OUT OF DEM-DOMINATED TALK SHOWS AS FCC AIMS TO REFORM NETWORK BIAS

Vance will discuss his new book, "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith," along with news of the day and his goals for the Trump administration during his appearance on Tuesday.

Teta noted that Vance and the co-hosts of "The View" disagree on a lot of issues, but said they want to hear what he has to say.

He added, "Hopefully, it's passionate debate that's respectful, and it's the vice president. It's a big deal. So, we're excited to do it."

Vance's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Unearthed DOJ emails expose turmoil over Biden-era memo urging crackdown on parents

A controversial memo issued by then-Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2021 aimed at addressing the alleged threat posed to school boards by dissatisfied parents caused an internal revolt at the Justice Department, according to documents obtained by Fox News.

As parents across the nation took to school board meetings to vent their dissatisfaction with COVID-era learning restrictions as well as how race and gender were being taught in classrooms, the National Association for School Boards appealed to the Justice Department for assistance, claiming that some actions taken by angry parents could be classified as "domestic terrorism."

The Justice Department in October 2021 issued a memo to coordinate a response to what the department described as an "increase in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members, teachers and workers in our nation’s public schools" by parents.

Newly released emails, however, indicate that high-ranking officials at the DOJ were skeptical of this move, predicting that it could transform into a political headache for the Biden administration.

MAJOR PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD SIMULATES PARENT ‘TERRORIST’ ATTACK AFTER FATAL ACCIDENT KILLS STUDENT

"I don't think it's possible to state how strongly I object to this. It will completely and totally nuke our election threats efforts, and will damage the reputation of the Public Integrity Section into the bargain," one deputy assistant attorney general wrote on an internal email chain. "It's like they've affirmatively trying to make this thing not work and look political."

"If they do this, they might as well rename the damn thing the Anti-MAGA Task Force," they continued.

"Exactly!" the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section chief responded. "Stupid, stupid, stupid."

Some at the DOJ also questioned whether or not the agency had the authority to address purported threats to school board members in the way that was being proposed.

ANDREW MCCARTHY: BIDEN-HARRIS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT TANGLES WITH RED STATES ON ELECTION DAY

"We will not do this," one principal deputy assistant attorney general wrote. "There is no conceivable connection to [public integrity] (indeed, I'm not seeing a federal interest of any kind.). And if they're going to make the AG's memo to the field about this and election threats, I'm going to strongly recommend that they not send it."

The Public Integrity section chief chimed in that the memo could turn the Justice Department and the FBI into the "threat police" and that it contained "no limiting principle at all."

After sparking a firestorm of criticism from GOP lawmakers, state officials, pundits and parents’ groups, the NSAB formally apologized for its letter to the Biden administration calling for legal scrutiny to apply to disgruntled parents.

CNN HOST RECALLS HOW COVID CAUSED THE 'RADICALIZATION' OF PARENTS

"On behalf of NSBA, we regret and apologize for the letter," the organization wrote in a memo to its members. "There was no justification for some of the language included in the letter. We should have had a better process in place to allow for consultation on a communication of this significance. We apologize also for the strain and stress this situation has caused you and your organizations."

Though Garland was pressed to retract his memo or apologize, he instead opted to defend his decision.

"The obligation of the Justice Department is to protect the American people against violence and threats of violence and that particularly includes public officials," he said of the memo.

The DOJ and Garland did not respond to requests for comment when reached by Fox News Digital on Friday.

No hazard found after 'severe' Pentagon alert sparks emergency response

Certain areas in the Pentagon went on lockdown Thursday morning due to an "air quality incident" that was later revealed to be a false alarm.

An alert, shared with Fox News Digital, carrying a "severe" rating was sent to employees in multiple corridors of the building directing them to shelter in place. All other personnel were told to avoid the area. As of 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time Thursday, the lockdown order was lifted, according to Pentagon officials.

"Earlier this morning, Pentagon occupants were notified of a potential air quality issue, prompting immediate precautionary safety measures and evaluation. Subsequent testing confirmed no hazard exists, and normal operations have resumed," chief spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a Thursday statement.

"We express our sincere appreciation to the first responders for their swift actions to ensure the safety of all personnel," he said.

UFO WHISTLEBLOWER CLAIMS BILLIONS IN SECRET SPENDING HIDDEN FROM CONGRESS

A hazardous materials team scrubbed several locations in the Pentagon's A ring, the center-most location in the building, according to a Pentagon official.

Approximately 23,000 to 27,000 people work in the Pentagon on any given day.

PENTAGON DROPS 180 FAITHS FROM MILITARY'S RECOGNIZED RELIGIONS LIST

Secretary Pete Hegeth's office and chairman of the joint chiefs Gen. Dan Caine's office are not located in the corridors placed under lockdown.

Systems detected a problem with the air quality in part of the building and a device picked up a biohazard scent, the Pentagon source told Fox News.

The Arlington, Virginia, fire department confirmed on X it sent its Hazardous Materials team to support the Pentagon Force Protection Agency’s Hazmat team with the incident.

The last notable Pentagon lockdown was in August 2021, when a Pentagon police officer was killed during a violent incident at the Pentagon Transit Center.

The Pentagon has spent years developing systems designed to detect and contain airborne threats inside the building.

Following the Sept. 11 attacks, officials launched the Pentagon Shield program, which uses sensors, computer modeling and building ventilation controls to help identify chemical, biological and radiological hazards and limit their spread through the Pentagon's five-ring structure.

Building systems can adjust airflow and isolate affected areas while emergency responders assess a potential threat.

Olivia Culpo pulls a veteran move by wishing Christian McCaffrey a happy birthday with string bikini pics

I’ve been doing this for a while now, and I can honestly tell you I’ve never seen anyone be a better leader off the field than Olivia Culpo. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely some on the same level. But there’s nobody above that.

The former Miss Universe has reached the highest level. She doesn’t just show up for the annual bikini vacations, she sets the offseason standard. She’s been in the NFL long enough to understand the importance of getting that right.

When everything clicks, it carries over into the following season. It was clicking again over the weekend for her husband Christian McCaffrey’s 30th birthday. The 49ers running back didn’t have time to wonder about his future in the league as he reached his milestone birthday.

49ERS' CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, OLIVIA CULPO ANNOUNCE THEY'RE EXPECTING: 'NEXT CHAPTER, MOTHERHOOD'

There was a birthday party in Mexico planned and a celebration to be had. Once again, that’s what us old school folks like to call leadership. Culpo’s work wasn’t finished. The pregnant mother of one had a happy birthday message on social media to deliver and deliver, she did.

We wouldn’t be going over the game film right now if she didn’t. She wrote along with a carousel of pictures that included the model in bikinis, "Happy 30th birthday to the best husband, the best father, and the kind of person who makes everyone around him want to be better."

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

Her birthday wishes continued, "Getting to share this life with you is something I’ll never take for granted, and sometimes it truly feels too good to be true. Thank you for being the best part of every day. I love you so much!!!!"

Well done and happy 30th birthday to Christian McCaffrey.

I can’t say for certain that Mike Evans looked at the veteran leadership provided on the offseason bikini vacations and took it into consideration prior to signing with San Francisco as a free agent.

I would never go that far out on a limb, but I will say it definitely didn’t hurt.

Trump concession breathes new life into stalled FISA spy powers deal

The flatlined bid to reauthorize the nation’s controversial spying powers may have a pulse again after President Donald Trump made a key concession to Democrats.

Congress was on its way to reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is set to expire Friday, but that momentum was halted when Trump tapped his current director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Bill Pulte, to serve as a temporary chief for the nation’s spy agencies.

Pulte, who is set to take over the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) on June 19, has proven the prime sticking point in a process that has already been marred by disagreements over FISA’s controversial Section 702. Critics have panned him as having no experience in a role that will require him to oversee the nation’s 18 intelligence agencies.

SENATE PUSH TO REAUTHORIZE NATION’S SPY POWERS STUMBLES OVER CONTROVERSIAL TRUMP DECISION

"This is not a problem between Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans, this was the administration throwing a live hand grenade into a critical reauthorization 10 days out," Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said.

Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and Senate Intelligence Committee chair Tom Cotton, R-Ark., produced a compromise, three-year reauthorization with reforms to Section 702 that likely would have advanced absent Trump’s decision to tap Pulte.

Given the logjam, Trump on Wednesday announced that he was actively seeking a replacement to lead ODNI and requested that Congress produce a short-term extension to keep the program running in the meantime.

"I would say this, [Pulte is] going to be there for a short while, while we pick somebody else," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "We're interviewing five different people. They're all very good, very different, and we'll put somebody there."

WHY TRUMP PICKED BILL PULTE TO LEAD US INTELLIGENCE AS CRITICS QUESTION HIS QUALIFICATIONS

That move could help some Senate Democrats get over the hump.

Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., said that he believed that at least knowing that Pulte would be out could be enough to dislodge some Democrats to support an extension.

"I think knowing who the DNI will be, if it's somebody that people have confidence in, that makes the FISA question a lot easier," Kaine said.

For others, Trump’s ambiguity on how long Pulte will stick around remains a troubling prospect.

"That's a problem," Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, said. "If Mr. Pulte is gonna be there for an indefinite period, then I can’t vote for an extension. If there's some timeline, measurable, defined, then I would consider it."

Lawmakers are currently mulling a possible three-week extension to the program, which has given conservatives and Democrats heartburn.

TRUMP MOVES TO SLASH INTELLIGENCE OFFICE AHEAD OF PERMANENT CHIEF'S ARRIVAL

It’s one of the rare horseshoe issues in the Capitol where privacy hawks on both sides of the aisle want steep reforms, particularly for warrant requirements to prevent Americans from getting ensnared in information collected on foreigners under Section 702.

That reality means that some Republicans and Democrats wouldn’t vote for the compromise deal anyway — six Republicans joined nearly every Democrat to block a procedural move to reauthorize the program last week.

"Why don't we surveil the foreigners and not surveil Americans? It’s a new concept," Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., said.

That means that Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., will need all the help from Democrats that he can get.

"We need Democrat votes," Thune said. "And, as I've said before, I think irrespective of what you think about Bill Pulte, providing the reforms that are included in the 702 reauthorization is a safeguard, regardless of who's in that job, or which party is in power here."

But others contend that the Friday deadline isn’t the hard end of the program.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said on the Senate floor that the case to rush a reauthorization to the floor by the end of the week "is not true."

"Existing law allows Section 702 collection to continue under an order from the FISA court for another year, even without congressional reauthorization," Durbin said. "Congress can and must take the time to get this right."

Robot pets with AI could soon live with you

A robot that follows you around the house may sound a little strange at first. Yet Colin Angle, the cofounder of iRobot and one of the people behind Roomba, is betting that the next big home robot may feel less like a machine and more like a companion.

His new company, Familiar Machines & Magic, has revealed its first robot concept called a Familiar. It is a pet-inspired, emotionally aware home robot designed to live with you, learn your routines and support healthier habits. "The next era of robotics is not just about dexterity or humanoid form. It is about machines that can build and sustain human connection," Angle said.

That may sound great to some of you, and others not so much. Whatever your take, it raises some important questions too. Do you really want an AI-powered companion roaming around your home 24/7? Can a robot provide comfort without creating dependency? And will privacy hold up when a device can see, hear and remember what happens around you? Let's take a closer look.

AI HUMANOID ROBOT LEARNS TO MIMIC HUMAN EMOTIONS AND BEHAVIOR

A Familiar is a physically embodied AI robot built for human interaction. Unlike a chatbot on your phone, this robot has a body. It can move, react and express itself through animal-inspired behaviors.

The first version is a four-legged robot with a soft, touch-sensitive coat. It uses cameras, microphones, speakers and onboard AI to respond to people in real time. The company says it can read facial expressions, tone of voice and body language.

So, if you smile, it may tilt its head. If you seem stressed, it may nuzzle you. If you get excited, it may wiggle its tail. The goal is to build a warm presence that feels natural in your home. Familiar Machines & Magic says the robot is designed to support people through daily life rather than perform one simple task.

Most home robots have focused on chores. Roomba vacuumed your floors. Other robots promised security patrols, video calls or entertainment. Familiar is doing something different. It is built to support your daily routines and respond to how you are feeling.

The company describes it as a companion that can encourage better habits. For example, it may notice that you have been doomscrolling and give you a gentle nudge. It could encourage movement, help engage kids in screen-free play or offer a non-judgmental presence when you need to vent. That makes the robot feel more like a pet than a device. Still, the company says it is meant to supplement your life, not replace people or real animals.

A WHEELED ROBOT MAY BEAT HUMANOIDS INTO YOUR HOME

The Familiar is designed to build memory over time. The more you interact with it, the more distinct its personality may become. That could mean it learns when your household eats dinner, when you usually relax or when you tend to fall into habits you want to break. Then it can react in small physical ways.

Instead of barking orders, it may use movement, sound and expression. A paw tap could remind you to move. A gentle approach could signal that it wants attention. A scared reaction could warn you if it senses an unsafe situation, such as being placed near heat.

This is where the idea gets interesting. The robot does not need to speak to communicate. In fact, Familiar Machines & Magic says the first Familiar currently does not talk. That restraint may be smart. A robot that acts through gestures may feel less intrusive than one that constantly chats.

Colin Angle helped turn consumer robotics into a real business with iRobot. That gives this project extra weight because many social robots have come and gone without lasting success.

Robots such as Jibo, Anki's Vector and other home companions generated excitement, but many struggled to keep people engaged after the novelty wore off.

Familiar Machines & Magic seems aware of that challenge. The company says the robot must build a long-term connection rather than offer a flashy demo. In other words, cuteness alone will not carry it. A Familiar has to keep earning its place in your home.

HOME ROBOT COOKS, CLEANS AND ORGANIZES YOUR LIFE

A robot that sees and hears what happens inside your home naturally raises privacy questions. Familiar Machines & Magic says its AI runs on the device, so your private data does not need to stream constantly to the cloud.

The company also says data is stored on the robot, and you decide when it gets shared with the cloud. The robot should still work if you disconnect it from the internet, although you may miss out on new features.

That is the kind of privacy setup you want to see with a home robot. Still, you should read the fine print before bringing one into your house. Look for clear answers on what it records, how long it keeps that data, who can access it and how you can delete it.

A Familiar could make sense for people who want a little extra support at home without adding another screen to the mix. Parents may use it to help pull kids into screen-free play. Someone living alone could feel a little more company in the house. Older adults may eventually get help with reminders, routines and companionship.

That last part could be where this type of robot really proves itself. It could gently encourage daily habits, check in through movement and sound and stay out of the way when needed. For homes where people want support without feeling watched or managed, that balance could make a real difference.

NEW MOBILE ROBOT HELPS SENIORS WALK SAFELY AND PREVENT FALLS

Familiar Machines & Magic has not announced a price or release date yet. The company also says this reveal isn’t a commercial product launch.

So, for now, this is more of a first look at where the company is headed. The real test will come when people can actually bring one home. Can it move safely around a busy house? Will people still use it after the first week? Will the privacy controls be clear enough? And will the price make sense for families?

Those are the questions that will determine whether Familiar becomes something people truly want in their homes, or something that looks great in a demo but never becomes part of our daily lives.

Familiar is one of the more interesting home robot ideas we have seen in years because it moves beyond chores and into emotional support. That is exciting, but it is also a much harder promise to keep. The Roomba connection gives this project credibility, especially since Colin Angle knows how difficult it is to make robots useful in real homes. Still, Familiar Machines & Magic has to prove this robot can stay helpful after the novelty wears off. If the company can balance usefulness, privacy, safety and emotional connection, Familiar could point to a new future for AI at home.

Would you want an emotionally aware AI robot in your home, or would you rather keep that kind of technology out of your personal space? Let us know by writing to us at CyberGuy.com.
