WNBA star Caitlin Clark expected to be left off Team USA's Olympic roster: reports
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark will not be headed to Paris this Summer for the 2024 Olympic Games, according to multiple reports.
The WNBA phenom, who was unable to attend USA Basketball’s training camp in April because of the NCAA tournament, was reportedly left off the final roster, the Associated Press reported, citing a source.
The decision was first reported by The Athletic.

Clark was initially named to the national team’s 14-person roster for training camp in Cleveland, Ohio, back in early April. But the former Iowa star was unable to attend as the Hawkeyes advanced to the final where they would ultimately lose for a second year in a row, this time to South Carolina.
Nine other Olympians were invited to camp, including five-time gold medalist Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury, who is expected to return.
The final roster has not been announced, but Fever teammate Aliyah Boston was also named to the national team’s training roster back in April.

The reports come amid Clark’s rising popularity in women’s basketball, which has led to sold-out games and record ratings for both the professional league and women’s college basketball.
On Friday night, Clark equaled a career-high with 30 points to help the Fever hold on for an 85-83 victory over the winless Washington Mystics before an NBA-sized crowd.
The Mystics hosted the game at Capital One Arena before a sold out crowd of 20,333, which set the mark for the largest attendance at a WNBA game since 2007. By comparison, the Mystics' typical venue – Entertainment and Sports Arena – seats just 4,200.
The decision to leave Clark off the final roster was met by serious backlash on social media.
Former U.S. men’s soccer star Alexi Lalas, who recently spoke with Fox News Digital about Clark’s appeal, was among those who criticized the decision.
"I don’t know enough about USA women’s Olympic basketball to know if Caitlin Clark’s omission is a snub. I do know that, right now, she would be the only reason I would remotely care about USA women’s Olympic basketball."

Tokyo City Hall is creating a dating app to encourage marriage amid Japan's historically low birth rate
Called "Tokyo Futari Story," the city hall's new initiative is just that: An effort to create couples, "futari," in a country where it is increasingly common to be "hitori," or alone.
While a site offering counsel and general information for potential lovebirds is online, a dating app is also in development. City hall hopes to offer it later this year, accessible through phone or web, a city official said Thursday.
Details were still undecided. City Hall declined to comment on Japanese media reports that said the app will require a confirmation of identity, such as a driver’s license, your tax records to prove income and a signed form that says you are ready to get married.

Marriage is on the decline in Japan as the country’s birth rate fell to an all-time low, according to health ministry data on Wednesday. Last year there were 474,717 marriages, down from 504,930 in 2022 while births totaled 727,277, down from 770,759.
The reports also said the app may ask for your height, job and education but the official denied anything was decided.
On the national level, the government has been trying to solve a serious labor shortage by promising cash payments for families with children and supporting child-care facilities. It’s also relaxed immigration policy over the years to encourage an influx of foreign workers.
During the so-called "baby boom" era of the 1970s, Japan recorded more than 2 million births a year. Like many young adults around the world today, fewer Japanese are interested in old-style marriage or having children.
There are concerns that Japanese workplace norms tend to lead to extremely long hours and rarely meeting people outside work. Some say raising children is expensive.
Tokyo City Hall is also sponsoring events where singles can meet, couples can get counseling on marriage and where lovers can have their stories of how they first met turned into manga comics or songs.

FBI still mum on laptop as it gets entered into evidence in Hunter Biden trial
The FBI is remaining silent on the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop nearly four years after its refusal to verify its authenticity caused social media companies to bury stories about it ahead of the 2020 election.
The FBI said it had "no comment" when asked by Fox News Digital if the bureau had any regrets about not acknowledging the authenticity of Biden’s laptop now that it has been introduced as evidence in Biden’s criminal gun trial.
The existence of the laptop was first revealed by the New York Post in the weeks leading up to the 2020 election between now-President Biden and former President Trump, with the outlet reporting on contents on the laptop it claimed detailed the Biden family’s influence peddling scheme.
BIDEN'S CLAIMS THAT HUNTER LAPTOP WAS ‘RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION’ DEBUNKED BY HIS OWN SON
Social media giants such as Facebook and Twitter were quick to act and limit distribution of the New York Post story on the laptop, with Twitter banning links to the story from being posted on its platform. Meanwhile, Facebook temporarily reduced the reach of posts containing stories about the laptop until it could be verified by independent fact-checkers.
According to reporting from the Atlantic, Facebook’s decision to limit distribution of the story was based on an FBI warning that social media companies watch for disinformation in the weeks leading up to the election. That fact was seized upon in a House Judiciary Committee letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray last year, with lawmakers questioning why the FBI refused to verify the authenticity of the laptop despite knowledge that the device was not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
"The FBI’s failure to alert social-media companies that the Hunter Biden laptop was real, and not mere Russian disinformation, is particularly troubling," the letter to Wray read. "The FBI had the laptop in their possession since December 2019 and had warned social-media companies to look for a ‘hack and dump’ operation by the Russians prior to the 2020 election. Even after Facebook specifically asked whether the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation, [Laura] Dehmlow of the FBI refused to comment, resulting in the social-media companies’ suppression of the story. As a result, millions of U.S. citizens did not hear the story prior to the November 3, 2020 election."

Outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post would later publish their own analysis of the laptop, finding nearly two years later that the contents of the device were real and not the result of a Russian disinformation campaign.
Nevertheless, Wray defended the FBI in a congressional hearing shortly before receiving the Judiciary Committee letter last year, calling accusations that the bureau favored the Biden family "ludicrous."
"The work the men and women of the FBI do to protect the American people goes way beyond one or two investigations that seem to capture all the headlines," Wray said at the time.
However, Wray refused to engage in specific questions about the investigation into Biden, a policy of silence that has persisted into the present day, with the bureau referring Fox News Digital’s questions about the laptop to the special counsel’s office.

'Golden Bachelor' admits on 'The Kardashians' why he was 'very happy' with the fantasy suites
Gerry Turner shared why he was "very happy" with his "Golden Bachelor" fantasy suites during an episode of "The Kardashians."
Turner met Kris and Kendall Jenner while the "Golden Bachelor" was airing in October. The group had dinner together at Kris's Calabasas home.
"OK, Gerry, so what happened in your fantasy suites?" Kris immediately jumped in.
"I’m very happy about the overnights because – yeah, not for the reason you think – if you spend five weeks getting to know women, yet everything you say and do is recorded, you’re dying to get to that overnight where you can ask the questions without an audience," Turner explained.

Kendall's friend, who also attended the dinner, asked Turner what he learned about himself while filming the show.

"I’m not smart, I’m just old," he explained.
"No, you’re not. You are smart," Kendall responded. "I’m sure there are men who don’t put that together ever."

Kendall actually saw who Turner picked, although the finale hadn't aired yet.
"I'm going to blame it all on my mom," Kendall said during a "Kardashians" confessional. "When my mom was obviously, innocently trying to help him find out how to call his daughter. I saw him try to call the girl like eight times that day."
Turner did pick the woman Kendall saw on Turner's call log, Theresa Nist.
The two married in a televised ceremony but filed for divorce shortly after. Turner and Nist announced the news on "Good Morning America" following the first three months of their marriage.
"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and – and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to – dissolve our marriage," Turner said at the time.
Nist added, "We have received so much love and support from so many people who watched ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope. We want none of that to change for anybody."

Turner became the first "Golden Bachelor" after his wife passed away in 2017 due to an undisclosed illness. The two had been high-school sweethearts and had married in 1974.
"She got robbed. Every day that goes by, that's the thought that I have," Turner previously told "Good Morning America."
"I have her picture on a dresser in my closet. Every morning I give her a nod, 'So what do you think about this?' For a while it was like, I was having a hard time figuring out if she would be okay. But we always told each other when one of us goes, we want the other to be happy. She's up there rooting [for me]. She's saying, 'Yeah, Gerry. Do this.'"

Jon Bon Jovi shares high school love note from wife of 35 years
Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, have truly been in love since their teen years.
On "The Kelly Clarkson Show," the New Jersey-born and bred rocker shared a high school note she wrote to him in his yearbook.
The note read, "John, write a sequel to ‘Bobby’s Girl’ but name it ‘She’s Johnny’s now,’" signed, "Love, Dot."
Bon Jovi laughed looking at the note, saying he "never called her Dot again."
He explained the reference was to "a song I had written called ‘Bobby’s Girl,’ one of the first original songs I had written, and she was dating my buddy, Bobby, and he went off to join the service, as did my other two best friends, and they all joined the Navy."
"It was my senior year of high school, and I just fell in love with the girl sitting next to me in history class."
Bon Jovi and Dorothea have been married since 1989 after eloping in Las Vegas at the height of his band’s success. The couple share four children; Stephanie, Jesse, Jake and Romeo.
In April, near the 35th anniversary of his wedding to Dorothea, Bon Jovi spoke with Fox News Digital about what’s made their marriage last.

The "Livin’ on a Prayer" rocker did admit to some temptation, telling The Independent he’s never lied about "being a saint" during their relationship.
"These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom," he told the outlet. "It’s about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to [mess] up the home life, either."
He made a similar comment during "Halfway There," an interview special with Michael Strahahn that aired on ABC.

"I got away with murder," Bon Jovi said of the early days. "I’m a rock and roll star, I’m not a saint. You know, I’m not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in my life – I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good."
He continued, "But if you think I was ever going to jeopardize my – anything for believing the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing to do. What kind of excesses does a man need that’s going to fuel that fire? It’s just not worth it."
Bon Jovi also sang his wife’s praises in the interview.
"There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her," he said. "Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it."
"She’s certainly not afraid to call me out on something," he added, "but she’s also there when I fall. And I’m there for her when she falls. No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together."

Psychiatrist Henry Jarecki blasts explosive claims in Jeffrey Epstein accuser's new sex trafficking lawsuit
The prominent New York City psychiatrist named in an explosive sex trafficking lawsuit brought by an anonymous Jeffrey Epstein accuser this week is pushing back – denying the allegations as made up and a money grab.
"False accusations have been made against me by lawyers seeking money on behalf of a woman with whom I had a consensual, non-secretive, and mutually respectful relationship over a decade ago, when she was a successful professional in her late 20s," Jarecki, 91, said in a statement released through his attorney. "I have never engaged in any abusive conduct with her or anyone else."
A former model, identified only as Jane Doe 11 in court filings, filed a lawsuit this week accusing Jarecki of raping her after Epstein sent her to his office for complaints of depression.

"I will contest these demonstrably untrue claims in the appropriate forum," Jarecki said.
The New York-based shrink is a longtime Yale University professor, an author, the co-founder of Moviefone and a billionaire metals trader, in addition to his medical background.
Doe came to the U.S. in 2010 to work in the modeling industry and connected with Epstein shortly after he arrived. She had to continue working in order to maintain her visa status and remain in the country. When she asked for some mental health help, according to the lawsuit, the disgraced financier sent her to Jarecki, whom he described as "the best doctor in New York City."
The meeting led to years of modern-day sexual slavery, according to the lawsuit, which Jarecki denies.
"During this first consultation, Jarecki told Jane Doe 11 that he had something that could make her happy right away," the lawsuit reads. "However, instead of prescribing her medication, Jarecki presented her with an expensive wristwatch."
Then he brought her on a tour of his home in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood and allegedly "forcibly raped her against her will" in the bedroom, according to the filing.

Other allegations include a claim that Jarecki put Doe up in a $5,700 apartment in exchange for sex, "a deal Jane Doe 11 never agreed to." She accused him of raping her "dozens" of times in the Big Apple and on private Caribbean islands and claimed he exerted control over her life between 2011 and 2014.
"Jarecki learned everything he could about Jane Doe 11, including her financial and immigration situation, and he used that knowledge to manipulate and completely control her, coercing her into being his modern-day sex slave," the lawsuit alleges.

Epstein, a former teacher who made hundreds of millions of dollars in the finance industry and palled around with influential academics, business leaders and even presidents, died in 2019 in a federal jail cell while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
Investigators ruled his death a suicide but found serious errors in the facility where he was found dead.
In January, a federal court in New York unsealed hundreds of documents as part of a lawsuit brought by prominent Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, shedding new light on his social circle.
