Valerie Bertinelli jumps 50 times and Rod Stewart pushes bricks in a pool: Celebrity fitness hacks

Many celebrities are known for their fit physiques, and while some love a brisk jog or a hot yoga class, others have more unusual ways of making sure they can slip into their skinny jeans.

Here are some of the different ways stars stay in shape.

"One Day at a Time" alum Valerie Bertinelli jump-starts her morning with a coffee and some hopping.

Late last month, the 63-year-old shared her new routine on Instagram, saying she jumps up and down 50 times each morning.

CHRISTOPHER SCHWARZENEGGER SHOWS OFF BUFF TRANSFORMATION DURING OUTING WITH FAMOUS FAMILY

"The Google says when you jump 50x or for one minute in the morning, it can increase your blood flow, support bone density (super important at my age), and stimulate your lymphatic system, which helps to flush toxins," the cookbook author said. "It’s a quick (and for me fun) way to transition the body from rest to activity, up your energy, and set in some positivity for the day."

She shared a video of her hopping around in her yard, writing, "I’ve been doing this for about a month and I love it. For years, I’ve been going outside first thing in the morning while my coffee is brewing to breathe in some fresh air and enjoy the birds chitter-chatter, so why not add in a few hops while soaking up the sunrise. So go ahead and jump!"

"(Sorry, I couldn’t resist)," she added.

Rod Stewart isn't slowing down.

One of the ways the 80-year-old keeps fit, is by pushing bricks at the bottom of the swimming pool.

"We do a lot of underwater training, where the trainer throws a brick into the pool and I have to dive in, push the brick to the end of the pool and come up," Stewart told AARP earlier this year of his workout routine.

He added that Frank Sinatra — who thought he always had a sore throat because of his gravelly voice — told him: "Rod, the secret to being a great singer is having powerful lungs. Do lots of underwater swimming, where you hold your breath."

In 2023, Stewart told People magazine that his underwater workouts were designed for the British Special Air Service (SAS).

"You have a big rubber brick, and you've got to swim the length of the pool and push it the length of the pool, on the bottom of the pool," he said. "It's really wonderful. Well, sometimes it's not wonderful because I don't want to do it, but I'd say it's fun."

Aside from swimming, Stewart also takes a page from Usain Bolt and does 100-meter sprints on his private track.

"I got it down to 19 seconds by learning how to push off," the "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy" singer said. "I’m going to try and do 17 seconds, which I think is a world record for an 80-year-old."

Mark Wahlberg’s workouts start at 2:30 a.m. and involve a cold plunge or ice bath, and cryo chamber recovery.

"The Italian Job" star explained to Men’s Journal that the early morning start allows him to have time for himself in the predawn hours while getting his work done and being there for his family as much as possible the rest of the day.

He previously told the magazine: "breakfast is at 3:45 a.m., by 4 I’m training, 5 a.m. is prayers, and I’m golfing at 6."

Wahlberg told "Good Morning America" in September that usually, when he’s waking up, one of his kids is still up if it’s the weekend.

"The only way I can do it is if I get to bed at 7 [p.m.], 'cause I need eight hours of sleep," he explained.

He added, "I learned the hard way over the years, which is why I try to show what I do every day, just so I can show people that it is about the work, it is about the discipline, and this is the only way that I could be successful, both personally and professionally."

In a promotional video for CRYO Arctic, Wahlberg explained that he needs cryo "recovery every day. I hurt my back … but I’m coming back!"

After a stint in the chamber, Wahlberg came out and referred to it as the "best recovery there is."

Cryotherapy exposes the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short period of time to help lower inflammation and soothe sore muscles, in the same way an ice pack would, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The 54-year-old has shared multiple videos on social media of his ice bath routine, often referring to it as "cold life."

In 2023, he told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that cold plunging is "the best thing that’s happened to me. I feel like now I can’t start my day without it."

He added that "it takes care of so many things [like] inflammation."

Wahlberg said he stays in for around five to six minutes. "By the time I start praying and meditating, I’m usually a little bit over [the time]."

"It’s the best way to start the day," he added.

Even when he’s not at home, he’s dedicated to his routine, "whether it’s stealing buckets of ice from the ice machine at a small hotel, or at my daughter’s horse show, or getting the hotel to send me — anything I can do to get it done."

JANE SEYMOUR REVEALS 'WAKE-UP CALL' THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER HEALTH APPROACH

One of Candace Cameron Bure’s favorite exercises when she’s short on time is jumping rope.

The "Another Sweet Christmas" star shared an Instagram video of her doing her jump-roping workout in 2021.

"First, whips hurt," she joked. "Second, this is the first time doing 12 double-unders in a row. Whoo Hoo! Does a jump in between still make it count? Just say YES."

In another 2021 Instagram video, she wrote, "I’m starting a jump rope journey today. I’ve been jumping basic rope for about 5 years for cardio with Kira [Stokes]. However, I really want to learn steps and get good! Coordination is tough for me at times."

When he’s short on time, Matthew McConaughey drops and does pushups whenever he can.

"I’ll drop and give myself 20 pushups at intervals throughout the day. 9 a.m., bang out 20. Sitting in a boring meeting at 10:30. Bang out 20. I do that 10 times throughout the day, I’ve done 200," the 56-year-old previously told Men’s Journal, according to Wellness Warrior

The "Dallas Buyers Club" star said sometimes he mixes things up "with crunches, squats, whatever. Also, I have a 12-pound medicine ball. I’ll just think, Pick up the medicine ball and don’t put it down for 30 minutes. Try that once. You will have a workout, man."

Kate Upton has a few go-to moves to stay in shape.

The model and actress has shared videos of herself lifting 225 pounds with her hips, and she also does resistance workouts in the pool.

"For most people, pool days mean chilling on the side of the pool," her trainer Ben Bruno wrote in 2021. "For @kateupton though, the work doesn’t stop. Here’s how we beat the heat and get a workout in at the same time. And by ‘we’, I mean Kate; I’ll usually do a few rounds of the workout with her and then just chill on the side of the pool. The pool workouts look easy, but they’re actually really tough."

"This is badass," Bruno wrote on Instagram in 2020 while sharing a video of Upton doing hip thrusts.

"@kateupton did six staggered-stance hip thrusts on each leg with 205 pounds. That’s so strong! This is all the weight she has at home, so after she worked up to doing bilateral hip thrusts for sets of 15 reps with ease over the past few months of quarantine, we switched to a staggered-stance."

He added: "Kate is a beast and has been training so consistently hard, and it shows. I love that she likes to push herself and see how much weight she can do."

Kelly Osbourne has shared her weight-loss journey with fans. The star lost 70 pounds in 2013, partly by hula-hooping.

"I have a Hoopnotica hula hoop. I use it every day, and it's made my back and arms stronger, and my waist has gone down 2 inches!" the former reality star told Self magazine in 2013.

"On Saturday nights, my friends and I put on ridiculous outfits and hula-hoop and dance when everyone else is at ‘da club.’ We call it #HipHopAnonymous," she joked. "Adam Lambert is in it. We live in the same building, and random people show up. The next morning you're like, ‘Oh, my God, I'm so sore,’ but you had the best night ever."

Miley Cyrus wants to feminize the gym — and she does it by going in heels.

"My mantra is, like any athlete, ‘Practice how you perform,’" the "Flowers" singer told W Magazine last year. "So that’s why I practice in my heels. The gym looks really tough, but then I’ve got my ivory Gucci slingbacks because they remind me of Marilyn Monroe."

She added, "I train in heels, mostly. I’m interested in feminizing the workout space because so much of the workout equipment is ugly."

Jenny McCarthy battles bone infection, eyeball growths and nine surgeries in difficult year

This year, Jenny McCarthy is thankful for good health – something she's struggled with in 2025.

The actress has spent the past year dealing with her teeth falling out, multiple surgeries and "growths" on her eyeballs.

"My teeth were falling out, implants falling out," she told People of the beginning of her ordeal. "They finally had to dig into my jawbone and chipped away, and found I had a deep bone infection. I've been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only."

DONNIE WAHLBERG'S ‘MIDNIGHT’ THANKSGIVING OBSESSION WITH WIFE JENNY MCCARTHY

She added, "I've had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth, I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs."

The issues were originally caused, she explained, by a ceramic dental implant.

"As of now, I'm able to chew again," McCarthy said, "but every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again, I'd be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up, and at the same time I was getting these growths popping up on my eyeballs."

She added, "People should actually feel a little sorry for me!"

The "Masked Singer" judge also told People, who she spoke with ahead of Thanksgiving, that she was looking forward to being able to eat solid food for the holiday.

"I think I'm past the storm," she said. "I'm about to chow down!"

Her plans were to spend the day with husband Donnie Wahlberg – she admitted that "it's been a little tricky-wicky getting together" because of their busy schedules.

"I've been shooting ‘The Masked Singer’ in Los Angeles, he’s been in Canada with ‘Boston Blue.’ So it's been tricky and difficult, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more to us than ever this year," she explained. McCarthy and Wahlberg have been married for 11 years, and last month, the "Blue Bloods" actor told Fox News Digital about one of the ways they keep their relationship going strong.

"Well, we've both been divorced before, so we did a lot of individual therapy and when we got together we decided, let's do some together, sort of preemptive, because no matter what, every new relationship brings on new challenges, and sometimes we don't even know what activates us, what causes us to react to certain things and brings out vulnerabilities in us," said Wahlberg.

"But intimate new relationships are usually where they surface," he continued. "Some of us are really good at working in a work environment or with friends. We can give advice, and we can handle things, but sometimes you get into a romantic relationship and suddenly things bother you that don't bother you in other parts of your life. And it's because it's the most vulnerable relationship you're going to be in, and that's where those vulnerabilities pop up."

McCarthy and Wahlberg began dating in July 2013 and tied the knot in August 2014. Wahlberg has two sons from his previous marriage to Kimberly Fey, and McCarthy has one son, Evan, from an earlier marriage to John Asher.

What to watch Thanksgiving: Family-friendly movies to stream this weekend

Thanksgiving is a time to get together with loved ones, indulge in a big meal and spend quality time.

In addition to watching football, friends and family can gather around the TV and laugh as they spend meaningful time together watching a lighthearted, heartwarming movie.

Here are a few family-friendly movies to enjoy with your loved ones on Thanksgiving, now streaming on Tubi.

WATCH SEASON 2 OF THE SAINTS ON FOX NATION

"Free Birds" is the perfect movie to stream on Thanksgiving.

Starring Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Amy Poehler, the animated movie follows Reggie, a turkey pardoned by the president that year whose life turns upside down when he runs into another turkey named Jake.

The two then partner up on a time-traveling mission to prevent the turkey from ever becoming a part of Thanksgiving dinner. Their mission takes them back in time to just before the first-ever Thanksgiving in 1621 to accomplish their goal, but before they're able to, they are captured.

"Daddy's Home" perfectly blends comedy with heartwarming family fun.

In the movie, Will Ferrell portrays the straight-laced stepfather to two children who have finally started to get close to him. However, he starts to feel insecure when their extremely fit bad-boy father, played by Mark Wahlberg, comes back to town.

The two then face off in a competition to win over the affections of the family, each plotting against the other.

"My character, Brad, is in an almost sickeningly way wants to be the best dad he can be," Ferrell told "Good Morning Britain" in December 2015. "But it's nice to show both these characters, even though they're at odds a little bit, at the end of the day they find common ground and able to kind of in an uplifting way kind of help the kids."

"Tortilla Soup" is a touching tale about family and how food brings loved ones together.

The 2001 film follows three sisters and their relationship with their father, a retired chef who continues to cook for his family despite having lost his sense of smell and taste.

Food is a key focus of the movie, as they all get together for a mandatory family dinner every Sunday even as personal conflicts get in the way and create issues among them.

Ice Cube's first family-friendly movie is a hit.

"Are We There Yet" tells the story of Nick, as he tries to impress his girlfriend, Suzanne, by offering to accompany her two kids on a flight from Portland to Vancouver so they can visit their mom.

After getting banned from the flight, Nick embarks on a long road trip with the kids, experiencing a number of comedic obstacles along the way as the kids continue to push his boundaries.

Before she married Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cheryl Hines starred as the Munro family matriarch in the 2006 comedy "RV."

Also starring Robin Williams, Josh Hutcherson and Kristin Chenoweth, the movie follows the Munro family on a road trip from Los Angeles to the Rockies after the patriarch, Bob, cancels their Hawaiian vacation to secretly travel to Boulder, Colorado, for a business meeting.

A series of mishaps along the way, including clogged toilets, issues with the parking brake and continuous run-ins with the eccentric Gornicke family, all help the family to bond and bring them closer together.

Emma Thompson introduced herself to a whole new audience when she starred in the 2005 children's movie, "Nanny McPhee," in which she played a magical nanny.

Thompson plays the titular character, who arrives to help widower, Mr. Brown, with his seven unruly children who have already driven away 17 different nannies.

While initially hesitant about their new nanny, the children try everything to scare her away too, but once she's gone, they realize they need her help more than ever if they want to keep their family together.

"I love her mystery and her wit, and I love her judicious and consistent patience," Thompson told Oprah.com in August 2010. "And I love the fact that really what she's about is trying to provide children with the tools to solve their own problems. She's not about saying this is what you do."

The holiday season doesn't end with Thanksgiving. Just one month later, families come together again to celebrate Christmas, and what better way to get into the spirit than with a classic Christmas movie?

Here are the must-watch Christmas movies streaming on Fox Nation.

"Christmas at the Greenbrier" tells the story of a former couple finding their way back to each other.

In the movie, a retired professional football player Ben (Josh Murray) unexpectedly crosses paths with his former flame Abby, played by Alicia Leigh Willis, at the historic luxury resort The Greenbrier, during the holidays. After their relationship was derailed by his career years earlier, the two must decide if they are willing to risk their hearts for the second time.

'CHRISTMAS AT THE GREENBRIER' STAR JOSH MURRAY ON GETTING A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE

Murray told Fox News Digital that he related to the characters of Ben and Abby after getting another chance at love.

"Ben and Abby had a strong connection in the past that didn't work out," Murray said. "They parted ways, they moved away. And they have this chance."

He continued, "And, you know, there's fear. There's fear that it's going to fail. That the same thing is going to happen. That they're going to get hurt again. We want to try to learn our lesson and avoid that pain. But sometimes we have to take the risk of that second chance to have a different outcome."

"Christmas In Big Sky Country" is another must-watch holiday romance movie.

The movie focuses on the community in Big Sky country, who are nervous about a recent power outage on an oil rig. Becca Collins, played by Rebecca Dalton, is one of the locals who is worried about the safety of her brother-in-law on the rig.

In order to lift the town's spirits during the holidays, the oil company sends their PR rep, Logan (Olivier Renaud), into town. After meeting Logan, Becca begins to fall for the PR executive, but as time goes on she begins to wonder if he's trying to help those on the rig or just help protect his company.

Kelsey Grammer stars alongside his daughter for the first time in the Christmas movie "The 12 Days of Christmas Eve."

Similar to "Groundhog Day," the movie stars Kelsey as Brian Conway, a successful businessman, who is given 12 chances by Santa Claus to relive the same day until he's able to repair his relationships with his loved ones and find out what Christmas is truly about.

Kelsey and his real-life daughter Spencer Grammer play fictional father and daughter in the movie.

Indiana's Fernando Mendoza 'definitely deserves some Heisman support,' ex-Hoosiers star says

Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza entered the fray as one of the top players in the nation this season as the Big Ten school is poised to finish the regular season undefeated.

The Cal transfer, who is in his first season at Indiana, has 2,641 passing yards and is tied in the national lead with 30 touchdown passes. He’s among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy this year with the best odds going into the final game of the regular season against Purdue, according to FOX Sports.

Trent Green, an Indiana alum himself, took notice of Mendoza’s ability and was banging the drum for the young quarterback’s Heisman Trophy candidacy.

"Mendoza definitely deserves some Heisman support. I’ll start it right now. I think there’s a long list of people that have started it before me, but what he’s been able to do, what Curt Cignetti’s been able to do since he came over as head coach. I thought last year was just a phenomenal season for them to make it into the College Football Playoff to play Notre Dame," Green told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.

Green pointed to the close games in which Indiana was able to eke out wins in the fourth quarter. Late interceptions nearly crushed the Hoosiers, but Mendoza was able to lead his team to victories.

In one of those games, he found wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. for a go-ahead touchdown. Cooper hit an incredible toe-tap to complete the catch in bounds.

2025 HEISMAN TROPHY ODDS: FERNANDO MENDOZA REMAINS FAVORITE; LOVE MAKES JUMP

"Mendoza, you talk about just the character of him. I didn’t know a lot about him when he came over from Cal. There’s a reason why the guys follow him and he’s a leader and the guys in the locker room like him – his mental toughness," Green said. "A lot is made about how smart he is and he works through progressions and he gets them in the right play and he uses his feet at the right time and he’s able to make all the throws, but you think about the three tough road games that they had – they were at Iowa, at Oregon and at Penn State – all of those games, they were close games.

"He threw an early fourth quarter interception in all three of those games, yet he was able to clear that from his mind, come back out, will lead them on game-winning drives and throw a touchdown in the fourth quarter to win all those games on the road. So, that just shows you the mental toughness that goes along with all the talent that he has."

Green, who spoke to Fox News Digital on behalf of his partnership with Caesars Sportsbook, played at Indiana from 1989 to 1992.

He accumulated 5,136 passing yards and 31 touchdown passes in those four seasons.

Female competitor crowned 'World's Strongest Woman' after transgender controversy overshadows event

The original winner of the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman competition in Arlington, Texas, was stripped of the title after allegations that the athlete is transgender came to light.

Andrea Thompson, the 2018 winner, stepped down from the podium at the event over the weekend after Jammie Booker won the title.

Thompson came in second place by just one point to Booker in the open women's category (no weight requirement). A YouTube video from what appears to be Booker's own channel, dating back to 2017, shows Booker claiming to be "trans."

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

A video showed Thompson stepping off the podium appearing to say, "This is bulls---."

According to Strongman Archives, Booker had not competed in women's events prior to this past June. It is unclear whether Booker had previously competed as a man.

After backlash over the previous 48 hours, Official Strongman announced that Booker would be "disqualified," admitting it was unaware of allegations that Booker was born male. The ruling now gives Thompson her second victory in the competition.

"Had we been aware, or had this been declared at any point before or during the competition, this athlete would not have been permitted to compete in the Woman’s Open category. We are clear - competitors can only compete in the category for the biological sex recorded at birth," Official Strongman said in an announcement Tuesday. "Official Strongman is inclusive and proud to run events which do not discriminate against athletes based on personal characteristics. Any athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure athletes are assigned to men or women’s categories based on whether they are recorded as male or female at birth."

Thompson shared a post from her coach, Laurence Shahlaei, congratulating her on "winning" the event. Shahlaei made the post on Monday, one day after the event. Shahlaei told Fox News Digital just prior to Strongman’s announcement that he had been told Thompson would be crowned the champion and that an official announcement would be made.

"This win hasn’t come without controversy, but I want to make it very clear that while I support and applaud people for being who they want to be, sport is sport and the women’s classes exist for a reason," Shahlaei wrote.

TWO-TIME US OPEN CHAMPION BRYSON DECHAMBEAU CONTINUES FINE-TUNING EVERY EDGE OF HIS GAME

Thompson finished third in 2019 and second in 2022 at the same competition. She won the Masters World's Strongest Woman event, reserved for women 40 years or older.

Booker has competed in three events this year, winning the first back in June and coming in second in the North America's Strongest Woman. On Sept. 14, Booker began a GoFundMe for help get money to compete in the competition.

"After taking 1st in the Rainier Classic regional (and getting my pro card) and 2nd at the North America's Strongest Woman competition, I have qualified for the next level of competition at the Official Strongman Games and I have a good chance of reaching the podium at this event as well," Booker wrote.

"Now comes the difficult task of funding the trip. Registration fees are $285, the flight to Texas will be around $350, and the hotel fees for the 3 day competition and pre competition rules meeting will be $900. I simply cannot afford this on my shoestring planet fitness trainer budget. Winning this competition will open huge doors for my career both as an athlete and as a trainer."

Strongman said it has attempted to reach out to Booker, "but a response has not been received." On Monday, Booker posted a video to Instagram thanking numerous people for their assistance in what was originally a victory.

Booker's TikTok biography reads that Booker, 28, is the "Worlds Strongest Lesbian." In a post from January, Booker wrote, "no im not a man."

Booker's first post on Instagram is a photo posing at a Planet Fitness on July 31, 2022.

Video shows wild neighborhood street takeover as violent mob pummels couple, burns truck

A violent mob was caught on camera reportedly beating a New York City couple and setting a car on fire after several local residents tried to stop a rowdy street takeover in their neighborhood over the weekend.

The attack began around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, after a group of drivers were seen speeding across residential lawns and doing donuts on the corner of South Drive and 141st Street in Malba, a neighborhood located in Queens, the New York Post reported

A private security guard first attempted to defuse the situation, but was subsequently assaulted by the mob and had his vehicle set on fire, according to City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino, who represents the neighborhood.

Larry Rusch, who owns a security company, reportedly heard the drivers performing stunts in the street. When he rushed outside to see what was causing the commotion, he was met by about 40 cars in the street, The Post reported.

'NOBODY'S IN CONTROL' AS CHAOTIC STREET TAKEOVERS TERRORIZE CITIES ACROSS US: CRIME EXPERT

Rusch reportedly attempted to park a company car in the intersection to try to block the drivers from causing more damage.

"As soon as I did that, everyone started leaving," Rusch told The Post. "Then two individuals go up to the car. Somehow they threw some kind of firework or something and lit the car up. Then melee started again."

Another local resident was also assaulted, according to the report.

ORGANIZED CRIME RINGS DRIVE STREET TAKEOVERS BY USING KIDS TO STEAL CARS FOR WILD STUNTS: EXPERT

"When I came out, I said, ‘Bro, you gotta get the f--- off my property,’" victim Blake Ferrer told The Post. "And that’s when it all started."

The incident quickly devolved into chaos, with video showing the group allegedly attacking Ferrer and his wife, reportedly leaving the Queens man with a broken nose and ribs. Additional footage shows a vehicle on fire as another car circles it.

Paladino took to social media to express her concern regarding the incident, adding that Ferrer was "lucky he wasn’t killed."

BLUE CITY STREET TAKEOVER SUSPECTS TORCHED POLICE CRUISER IN 'HELL-BENT' ATTACK ON COPS: UNION CHIEF

Paladino also blasted local law enforcement’s response to the melee, revealing that residents who called 911 to report the incident were told that a "quality of life team and 311 should handle the situation."

"Unacceptable. In fact, these violent street takeovers should be met with maximum force by the police department," Paladino added.

However, the NYPD said in a statement to Fox News Digital that while the initial responding officer was rerouted to a more serious call, once authorities received word that the incident had been upgraded to a higher priority call, an officer was quickly dispatched to the scene.

"The [precinct] covers a large geographical area, and this was a busy Saturday night," a spokesperson for the NYPD said in a statement. "At the time of the incident in question, other units from the [precinct] were handling multiple priority jobs, including an arrest for an individual who was driving while intoxicated, transporting someone to the hospital, an assault, and a vehicle collision with injuries."

A third resident also reportedly had objects thrown into his car when he attempted to stop the drivers from continuing the chaos, according to The Post.

Additionally, Paladino blasted the lack of accountability within the city regarding similar instances of street takeovers, adding, "These incidents are happening citywide, and they're happening because there are no longer any real consequences to this kind of criminality."

The councilwoman then pointed to several armed residents "who exercised extreme restraint," adding that the "level of restraint is not guaranteed. If the city refuses to do what's necessary, the people might."

Dem congressman pressed on what Trump orders 'specifically' were illegal

Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., explained what types of "unlawful" orders he thinks the U.S. military should not obey when given by President Donald Trump when pressed on the issue Sunday.

In an interview with anchor Margaret Brennan on CBS' "Face The Nation," Crow defended the controversial video he and five other Democratic lawmakers put out last week urging U.S. service members and intelligence community personnel to disobey "unlawful" orders from the commander in chief.

When asked what "specifically" those orders would be, Crow gave several hypothetical examples: "Well, send troops into Chicago, send troops in polling stations, kill terrorists’ families, arrest and execute members of Congress, shoot peaceful protesters in Lafayette Square."

Brennan interjected that Trump "hasn't done those things."

CNN PANEL DESCENDS INTO CHAOS AFTER DISCUSSION ON IMMIGRATION GETS HEATED

Crow, along with Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., and other Democratic leaders, appeared in a one-minute online video last Tuesday urging military and intelligence community members to consult their consciences and refuse to obey "illegal" orders.

The six lawmakers invoked their prior service while telling their audience that "the threats to our Constitution are coming from right here at home."

Directly calling out the Trump administration, they added, "This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community officials against American citizens."

"You must refuse illegal orders," the lawmakers declared.

Trump responded to the video on Thursday with a Truth Social post that stated, "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!"

MILITARY VETERANS IN CONGRESS CLASH OVER GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AS TROOPS FACE MISSED PAYCHECKS

Crow told CBS on Sunday that Trump’s response proved he and his colleagues’ point.

"But it’s also so telling that when members of Congress simply remind service members of the Constitution, and their duty to obey the law — which is not just our right, but it’s our obligation, to do — that he cannot handle that and he resorts to threats of violence and threats of arrest and execution," he said. "That tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump’s respect for the Constitution and the rule of law and actually underscores our point."

Brennan pressed Crow on allegations from House Republicans who are veterans that the Democrats' video was "corrosive" to the military.

Crow dismissed the critics as "some of Trump’s core supporters," saying, "they know better." He also accused them of being dishonest for arguing that the Democratic lawmakers were encouraging people to disobey lawful orders.

"They are simply lying because the truth is unacceptable to them. It’s unacceptable. We want to start a conversation, and we did about the dangerous rhetoric this president is using and the threats that he’s made to use our military in an unlawful way."

When Brennan pointed out that Trump had not actually issued any of the orders Crow listed, beyond making comments on social media, the lawmaker insisted it is important to inform troops before they’re faced with an "unlawful" order.

"And if we wait until the moment he gives a manifestly unlawful order to a young soldier, then we have failed them. We have to start that conversation now and get people thinking about the distinction, which is exactly what we did," Crow said.

During an interview with ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz on Sunday, Slotkin admitted she was unaware of any illegal orders that Trump has so far made to the U.S. military.

"To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela," Slotkin said.

Only you can stop the foreign info operations Elon Musk just exposed

In 2019, I was sitting in a classroom at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pa., with a bunch of guys about to get their full birds and a few invited civilians. The instructor asked, "What is our greatest national security threat?" It wasn’t terrorism, it wasn’t nukes, it was cyberattacks.

This week, Elon Musk’s social media platform X showed just how insidious foreign cyberattacks can be, as he made it possible for users to view the country of origin of any account, and almost immediately, some of the most corrosive users purporting to be Americans turned out not to be.

One fake account called itself "ULTRAMAGA us TRUMPus2028," (with American flags in the name) and claimed to be based in Washington, D.C., but is actually listed as being based in Africa. Another, now-deleted, was "Trump Is My President" listed in Macedonia. A very patriotic account named @American, had a profile picture with a bald eagle over an American flag, but it is, as it turns out, based in South Asia.

We’ve known since the aftermath of the 2016 election that malign foreign governments have used fake social media accounts to sow discord. In one example from the Mueller Report, a fake Russian account organized an actual, physical political rally in America.

‘NO KINGS’ PROTEST COULD ATTRACT PAID AGITATORS AND FOREIGN INFLUENCE, CROWD-FOR-HIRE CEO WARNS

As I wrote about in this column back in June, the MAGA movement, in particular, has been targeted recently by foreign influence seeking to break it apart. Fake foreign accounts can not only create the appearance of great influence through clicks and likes, they can also fund malicious users through monetization.

The bad news is that our nation is particularly vulnerable to informational attacks precisely because we are a free society, we are dominant militarily, economically and diplomatically, but our Achilles’ heel is information, the free exchange of which we value more than safety.

For example, in no universe would China allow the United States to feed its kids an endless doom loop of propaganda as it does to our kids with TikTok. And even if it were banned, as Congress tried to do, another would simply take its place. The First Amendment ties our hands.

TRUMP, BESSENT CAN LEVERAGE TIKTOK NEGOTIATIONS TO COUNTER CHINA'S RARE EARTH DOMINANCE

This is why, and I hate to throw something on top of everyone’s busy day, but this is why the only thing that can mitigate these foreign information attacks is a well-informed citizenry. There really are very few other meaningful solutions.

Because we are a free society the government cannot truly protect you from bad foreign actors pretending to be a Denver housewife, which is why Musk’s decision to add country of origin to accounts is such an important game-changer.

But using that important tool is not enough. We must remain diligent in always remembering, in every online moment, that what we are interacting with may not be real, and may be trying to do us and our nation harm.

It is a daunting responsibility, no doubt, to constantly question what we see online, but only because freedom itself is daunting, and there are some giveaways and tells to look for.

When you are told that such-and-such an influencer has an incredible sway over their online audience, ask yourself if you have ever seen an example of it offline. Do they hold physical events? Have you ever heard anyone talk about them in real life?

Then ask yourself who might benefit from the discord and doubt these influencers plant in our society, the distrustfulness of each other, even the dehumanization of each other. The obvious answers are Russia, China and Iran.

I feel fairly certain that my instructor at the Army War College lo those years ago would applaud Elon Musk for adding a country-of-origin label; it is a tremendous blow against foreign information operations, but he’d also point the finger at us and tell us to be diligent.

In the end, it is important to remember that most of our neighbors, our fellow Americans, are good and decent, and that when our online screens purport to show us otherwise, we should always be skeptical, because our enemies are not going to stop pressing this advantage.

Vanity Fair left surprised by latest romantic allegations against scandal-plagued journalist Olivia Nuzzi

Vanity Fair admitted on Friday it was "taken by surprise" last week when newly hired West Coast editor Olivia Nuzzi was accused by her former fiancé of having a romantic relationship with former South Carolina Gov. and Congressman Mark Sanford, whom she covered at a previous publication.

The high-profile journalist parted ways with New York Magazine last year after reports that she had an intimate relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom she covered for the publication. The scandal led to the end of Nuzzi's engagement to Politico's chief Washington correspondent and Playbook co-author at the time, Ryan Lizza, who has since left the outlet.

Lizza last week claimed he discovered during the 2020 election cycle that Nuzzi had been in a romantic relationship with Sanford. It was the second time Nuzzi, who was appointed to her new role by Vanity Fair editorial director Mark Guiducci this summer, has been accused of crossing the lines of journalism ethics.

EX-FIANCÉ ACCUSES FORMER NY MAGAZINE JOURNALIST OLIVIA NUZZI OF AFFAIR WITH MARK SANFORD

"We were taken by surprise, and we are looking at all the facts," a Vanity Fair spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Nuzzi has penned a book due for release next week, "American Canto," about the alleged digital romance, without explicitly naming Kennedy. She has not commented on the Sanford allegations.

Nuzzi’s lawyer, Ari Wilkenfeld, told The New York Times that the book "discusses the only instance in her long career as a journalist in which she had an improper relationship with someone she was covering."

POLITICAL REPORTER WHO HAD ALLEGED ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH RFK JR SPEAKS OUT

Wilkenfeld did not immediately respond to a request for additional comment.

Fox News Digital reached out to Nuzzi and Sanford for comment regarding Lizza’s claim but did not immediately hear back. New York Magazine has declined comment.

Meanwhile, Lizza dropped another Substack entry detailing additional claims about Nuzzi over the weekend that included lurid details about alleged digital messages between her and Kennedy.

A Kennedy spokesperson previously denied any sort of physical relationship had occurred and said he had only met Nuzzi once. Nuzzi has maintained that she never had a physical relationship with him but did engage in "personal" communications. Kennedy is married to actress Cheryl Hines.

OLIVIA NUZZI EXITS NY MAGAZINE FOLLOWING RFK JR RELATIONSHIP REVELATIONS

The Status media newsletter reported on Sunday night that some Vanity Fair staffers "already feel that she hasn’t exactly pulled her own weight as anticipated" and has failed to complete an editing assignment.

Guiducci became the outlet's global editorial director in June, and hiring Nuzzi is among his highest-profile decisions to date.

High-powered communications consultant Risa Heller, who is representing Nuzzi, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Vanity Fair did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

TOP STORY: Miss Israel Melanie Shiraz says she received death and rape threats after a viral, possibly edited video appeared to show her glaring at Miss Palestine during Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok. She denies hostility, blaming camera distortion. Shiraz, a Berkeley-educated entrepreneur, decries antisemitic abuse but remains committed to representing Israel and promoting peace and advocacy.

The tenured prof claims his reassignment violates free speech and seeks reinstatement and damages.

ATHLETES PAY THE PRICE: The Olympic Committee of Israel canceled its 2025 athlete and coach awards, citing global protests and safety concerns linked to the war in Gaza. Israeli athletes, including Olympic medalists, were denied visas to major events in Indonesia and Hungary, while teams across sports faced bans or disruptions amid rising international boycotts and discrimination.

Mamdani's team condemned the decade-old remarks but hasn’t confirmed the member's removal.

GUEST EDITORIAL: Rabbi Chaim Neiditch, who has devoted three decades to Jewish teen outreach, warns that antisemitism is becoming 'normal,' with Jewish teens paying the price. "Our teens need to feel proud of who they are as Jews and confident in recognizing when that identity is under attack," writes Neiditch.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "This has been to the point of, ‘I want to rape and kill you,’ or, ‘I hope that you end up like one of the hostages that got raped and shot in the head. I've gotten, ‘die you dirty Jew.’ I don't want to be too graphic, and it's jarring." - Miss Israel Melanie Shiraz.

Ariana Grande silences photographers at 'Wicked' premiere days after fan rushed red carpet

Ariana Grande silenced a group of photographers while posing on the red carpet at the final "Wicked: For Good" premiere.

Grande, 32, graced the carpet wearing a black-and-white strapless gown and her signature ponytail. In a video shared by The Associated Press, Grande can be seen calling someone over and seemingly requesting the paparazzi photographers stop shouting as she gestured with her hands.

"I promise you'll get your shot," she told the crowd of photographers.

As she went back to posing for photos, the group quieted down. Grande said, "This is so peaceful, see?"

Zach Bryan admits quick rise to fame after decade of military service led to alcohol dependency

Country star Zach Bryan is two months sober following a series of "earth-shattering panic attacks" amid his mental health struggles.

On Tuesday, the singer took to social media to open up about his relationship with alcohol and explained how he came to the decision to stop drinking altogether.

"Recently, I went on a motorcycle trip across the country," Bryan wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. "For 20 days, I camped and rode looking for a solution. At the end of this ride, I was sitting in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington thinking, 'I really need some f---ing help.'"

COUNTRY STAR ZACH BRYAN’S ANTI-ICE LYRICS ADD TO GROWING LIST OF PUBLIC CONTROVERSIES

"Being in the military for a decade and then thrown into a spotlight that I hadn’t fully comprehended the scope of, had some subconscious effects on me as a person," he continued. "I was not content but I also feared showing weakness because that’s not who I am or how I was raised. To charge forward and to never settle was the motto."

Bryan said he quickly found himself "stuck" in a downward spiral.

"I was stuck in a perpetual discontent that led me to always reaching for alcohol, not for the taste, but because there was a consistent black hole in me always needing its void filled," he said.

"I had been lied about and doxxed on the internet, I was helping a close friend through a severe mental break, one of my other best friends was put into a coma by a motorcycle accident, and I was touring the country playing five, sometimes six nights a week," he continued.

"I was having earth-shattering panic attacks," he added. "The anxiety I felt was paralyzing and I thought since I was successful, had the money I always longed for, and had great friends, that I could tough anything out."

Bryan said he sought help from a therapist and made the "conscious decision to do something about my toxic relationship with booze and how I cope with major life changes."

"I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly two months now — something I had to do for my own personal clarity," he said. "I needed to see the world objectively. My family supported every step I took. Conversations about the future, kids one day, my health and [girlfriend] Sammy’s happiness made me prioritize not only myself, but my entire family."

"I feel great, I feel content, I feel whole," the singer continued. "There is nothing I need to get me by anymore. If you or any of your friends are too tough, too scared or too stubborn to reach out, know that the most stubborn dumba-- on the planet did and didn’t regret it."

ZACH BRYAN SLAMMED BY FELLOW COUNTRY SINGER WHO DOUBTS THE TRUTH BEHIND HIS IMAGE

"I don’t believe in absolutes," he concluded his post. "One day maybe, I’ll learn to control my habits, but for now; I just want to say it is okay to be weak at times and need help. God speed everyone! I pray this helps somebody."

In the caption of the post, Bryan said he hopes his vulnerability can help others who are dealing with mental health struggles.

"In no way is this a greater than thou sentiment and I’m aware I am one of the luckiest men alive. I pray people don’t take this as me taking my blessings for granted," he wrote.

"I wanted to share this because I feel like a lot of people go through mental struggles at times and feel alone in them, which leads plenty to suffer in silence," he continued.

"I hope it helps someone struggling to find words when they’re down on their luck," he concluded.

Bryan has had his share of controversies, including arrests, emotional abuse allegations from his ex Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia, public feuds with various artists and more.

Most recently, Bryan's condemnation of ICE raids led to public scrutiny. He later responded to the backlash on social media.

"The last few months of my life I’ve been scrutinized by more people than I ever thought possible," he wrote. "I feel like I’ve tried my hardest in so many ways and it’s so hard to see where my bearings even are anymore. Been falling off a cliff while trying to grow wings at the same time."

"I am SO proud to have served in a country where we can all speak freely and converse amongst each other without getting doxxed or accosted on the internet or worse; the violence and heartbreak we’ve faced in the last few months!" he added. "God speed ol sons I’m out!"

Cowboys lineman draws unnecessary roughness penalty after dramatic flop

Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Guyton showed off his acting skills during the team’s 33-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night at Allegiant Stadium.

With about two minutes left in the second quarter, Guyton and Raiders defensive end Malcolm Koonce engaged in some extracircular activity. Guyton shoved Koonce, and the Raiders defensive end responded with a blow to Guyton’s helmet.

Guyton turned around after he got hit and then acted as if he took a punch from Mike Tyson in his prime, as he dramatically threw his hands up and fell on his back. The performance worked, as the referees flagged Koonce for unnecessary roughness.

However, the Cowboys declined the penalty on Koonce and instead accepted a defensive pass interference penalty that moved them further down the field.

Guyton, 24, is in his second season with the Cowboys after being selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

COWBOYS DOMINATE RAIDERS AFTER HONORING MARSHAWN KNEELAND IN FIRST GAME SINCE LINEBACKER'S TRAGIC DEATH

The Cowboys’ win on Monday was an emotional one, as it was the first game the team played since linebacker Marshawn Kneeland died by suicide. Kneeland was honored before the game with a moment of silence, and the Cowboys wore T-shirts honoring the 24-year-old.

Dak Prescott played well in the win, as he completed 25 of 33 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver George Pickens had nine catches for 144 yards and a touchdown, while CeeDee Lamb had five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

The Cowboys improved to 4-5-1 with the win and will take on the Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) in their next game on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.

DANA WHITE PROMISES 'GREATEST FIGHT CARD EVER ASSEMBLED' FOR POTENTIAL WHITE HOUSE UFC EVENT IN 2026

Videos recorded at the scene appeared to show Danis brawling with Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Magomed Zaynukov, both teammates of Makhachev.

White later told reporters that he did not intend to press charges against Danis, but hinted at disciplining the 32-year-old fighter in another fashion.

"I was on the other side [of the Octagon] and go, 'F---, I know exactly what this is,'" White said in a post-fight news conference. "You will never see Dillon Danis at a UFC fight ever again."

White ultimately shouldered responsibility for the chaotic event.

"I blame myself for that, actually," he said.

Danis was part of an altercation in 2018 after his then-teammate McGregor was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov by submission. Danis' involvement resulted in a seven-month suspension and a fine.

'Grey's Anatomy' star James Pickens Jr. reveals cancer diagnosis

James Pickens Jr. revealed his fight against prostate cancer after his "Grey's Anatomy" character faced a cancer diagnosis in the mid-season finale.

Pickens, 73, who portrays Dr. Richard Webber on the hit ABC medical drama, was diagnosed with prostate cancer following an annual physical in 2024.

"It’s not the kind of news anyone wants to hear, but to be honest, prostate cancer has run through my family," he told Black Health Matters. "My father had it. He had a lot of brothers; several of them had it. I would have been surprised if I hadn’t gotten it."

ERIC DANE VOWS TO ‘FIGHT TO THE LAST BREATH’ IN ONGOING ALS BATTLE

He added, "I’ve got a 90-year-old first cousin, who’s still alive, actually; he had it. His son has it. A couple of his brothers had it. No one, as far as I know, has succumbed to it."

Due to family history with the disease, Pickens is disciplined about monitoring his health.

‘GREY’S ANATOMY' STAR KATE WALSH SHARES ‘VERY SUBTLE’ WARNING SIGNS AHEAD OF BRAIN TUMOR DIAGNOSIS

"My urologist said, ‘Because you were so diligent in that piece of your health, it was to your advantage. We were able to catch it so early because you were being tested.'"

During an annual physical earlier this year, doctors referred Pickens to a urologist after they discovered the actor's PSA (prostate-specific antigen) levels were elevated.

"It revealed, as he called it, something suspicious," he recalled.

After a biopsy revealed a tumor, a subsequent PET scan was ordered and showed the cancer had not spread.

Doctors gave Pickens two options: he could pursue radiation or undergo a radical prostatectomy. He ultimately chose surgery to remove his prostate, which was performed robotically by two urologists.

"We caught it really early, and so they thought that would be the best route to take," he said before noting, "I do have a rare variant that you don’t see very often. They wanted to err on the side of caution and keep an eye on it."

Pickens added, "It was rare enough that they wanted to make sure that they were crossing all the T’s and dotting all their I’s. But they hadn’t seen one that was detected as early as mine."

While his journey with cancer is personal, Pickens hoped by sharing that he could help remove the stigma men have about discussing their health.

"One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime," he said in a PSA filmed for Black Health Matters. "For Black men, the risk is even higher. Fortunately, prostate cancer is highly treatable, but early detection is the key, and sometimes there are no noticeable symptoms."

Are cracks showing inside Trump’s MAGA movement?

The growing questions from Republicans on how Trump is running the country

from BBC News https://ift.tt/4di3HFD

Former UK prime minister slams BBC as ‘laughingstock’ while Trump readies $1B lawsuit over Jan 6 video scandal

Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss is backing President Donald Trump’s plan to sue the BBC, saying, "they’ve lied, they’ve cheated, they’ve fiddled with footage" as the network faces fallout from an editing scandal.

The BBC is accused of combining two different parts of Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech. They removed his call to march "peacefully and patriotically" and instead inserted the phrase "fight like hell" from nearly an hour later in the address.

"There are lots of people in Britain who are cheering President Trump on and who want him to sue the BBC because they're a huge problem," said Truss on "Fox & Friends Weekend" Saturday.

Now, Trump said he feels "obligated" to sue the British broadcaster for tampering with the footage. He’s threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion in damages.

BBC APOLOGIZES TO TRUMP AMID $1 BILLION LEGAL THREAT

The BBC apologized to Trump and said it has no plans to rebroadcast the Panorama documentary titled "Trump: A Second Chance?" with the edited clips. BBC Director-General Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness both resigned in the wake of the backlash.

A BBC spokesperson said the company’s chair, Samir Shah, has "separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president's speech on 6 January 2021, which featured in the programme."

The network, however, is rejecting Trump’s calls for compensation.

Despite the apology, Truss believes the president should still move forward with legal action.

BBC ROCKED BY JAN. 6 EDIT SCANDAL AS BRITISH JOURNALIST CALLS OUT NETWORK’S ‘REMARKABLY BRAZEN’ MOVE

"I want to see him progress with this legal suit because I don’t think they’ve been held to account," Truss said.

"I bet they carry on printing and publishing and broadcasting fake news, not just about the president, but about the MAGA movement, about the changes that are going on in the world, which many of the British public want to see here in Britain."

Truss accused the BBC of being politically biased against conservatives in both the United Kingdom and the United States. She also called for the network to be "defunded."

TRUMP ANNOUNCES LAWSUIT OF UP TO $5 BILLION AGAINST BBC OVER EDITED JAN 6 SPEECH DOCUMENTARY

"The BBC used to be the paragon of journalism across the world. It was respected. It’s now become a laughingstock, and it needs to be put out of its misery," she said.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett shared Truss’s view, saying an apology is not enough and calling for compensation from the BBC.

"This was clearly defamatory under British law. The BBC knows that, which is why the network apologized, removed the story," said Jarrett.

"That does not, however, erase the past damages that Trump sustained, which are considerable."

Trump said he plans to discuss the matter with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer this weekend before filing his lawsuit.
