Florida woman charged with child neglect after leaving 2 children in sweltering vehicle

A mother in Florida was arrested after she allegedly left her two children inside a hot car while she went shopping on one of the hottest days so far in 2025, according to officials.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook that Marianne Isnar allegedly left her two children unattended while she shopped at a Dollar Tree in Lehigh Acres, Florida, on Sunday.

According to deputies, the car, which wasn't running while Isnar's two kids were in the car, reached an internal temperature of 100 degrees. The outdoor heat, which was 98 degrees, allowed the car to reach 100 degrees within 10 minutes since every window was rolled up, officials said.

When deputies arrived, they allegedly found two juveniles inside the car with their seatbelts on. The mother claimed she was only in the store for five minutes when asked by a deputy, but according to officials, she was in the store for 25 minutes.

Isnar was charged with child neglect - unattended child in a motor vehicle. She was released from jail Monday on a $1,500 bond. Her next court appearance is on Aug. 11.

MOM WHO LOST 9-MONTH-OLD SON IN HOT CAR WARNS PARENTS AMID US HEATWAVE: ‘NO WAY THAT COULD HAPPEN’

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said this case sends a clear message to parents.

"This woman chose to leave her children in a car during one of the hottest days we have had in Southwest Florida this year," Marceno said. "Let this serve as a clear message, we will not hesitate to hold people accountable for putting a child’s life at risk. We are grateful these children are okay."

Trump hits EU for lack of Gaza aid, says Israel needs to 'make a decision' with Hamas not releasing hostages

President Donald Trump blasted the European Union for not providing aid to Gaza on Sunday, adding that Israel must "make a decision" about how to handle the region with Hamas still holding hostages.

Trump made the comments while meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland. He said that the U.S. has given millions in aid to Gazans, but claimed there has been no assistance from European countries.

"We gave $60 million two weeks ago for food for Gaza, and nobody acknowledged it. Nobody talks about it. And it makes you feel a little bad when you do that. And, you know, you have other countries not giving anything. None of the European countries, by the way, gave – I mean, nobody gave but us and nobody said, gee, thank you very much. And it would be nice to have at least a thank you."

Trump went on to note that a deal needs to be made between Israel and Hamas to end the war and return the last remaining hostages to Israel, despite many of them being dead.

"But we have a lot of bodies, and the parents want those bodies as much as they would want their child if that child were alive," Trump said of the hostages and their families.

NEWS OUTLETS ‘DESPERATELY CONCERNED’ FOR THEIR JOURNALISTS IN GAZA, URGE ISRAELI AUTHORITIES TO HELP

He suggested that Hamas is reluctant to make a deal for the final hostages because they feel it would be "the end for them" if they lose leverage against Israel.

"You know, they had a routine discussion the other day and all of a sudden they hardened up. They don't want to give them back. And so Israel is going to have to make a decision," Trump said.

The meeting comes as the IDF highlighted its efforts to deliver aid into Gaza after restricting the flow in recent months.

HAMAS LOSING IRON GRIP ON GAZA AS US-BACKED GROUP GETS AID TO PALESTINIANS IN NEED

Israel is now conducting airdrops for aid throughout the region, and the IDF says it conducted 28 drops in a matter of hours on Sunday.

"Let me be clear: Israel supports aid for civilians, not for Hamas. The IDF will continue to support the flow of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza," an IDF spokesperson said, claiming Israel transferred roughly 250 trucks full of aid into Gaza this week.

The IDF argues the reports about starvation in Gaza were a false campaign promoted by Hamas, but hunger is spreading across the region after the United Nations and the IDF previously failed to reach an agreement about aid distribution, Fox News’ Trey Yingst reported.

White House sends mixed signals in Russia 'hoax' blame game

The White House is claiming that Russia was attempting to sow "distrust and chaos," even as reports from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence suggest the Obama administration "manipulated" Russian interference to undercut Trump’s win in 2016.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about whether Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s position when he led the Senate Intelligence Committee fell in line with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's new findings.

"He said what they found is troubling," Leavitt said, while standing beside Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at a Wednesday White House press briefing. "We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling, which the director of national intelligence just confirmed for all of you that Russia was trying to sow distrust and chaos."

"What's the outrage in this – that Secretary Rubio did not say at the time, the Democrats were saying at the time – is the fact that the intelligence community was concocting this narrative that the president colluded with the Russians, that the president's son was holding secret meetings with the Russians, all of these lies that were never true," she continued.

NEW RUSSIAGATE EVIDENCE 'DIRECTLY POINT TO' OBAMA, DOJ WILL DECIDE 'CRIMINAL IMPLICATIONS': GABBARD

In 2020, the Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Sen. Rubio, released a report finding "irrefutable evidence" of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Now, Gabbard claims Obama officials manipulated intelligence to undermine Trump’s victory by playing up Russia’s actions during the 2016 election.

But, Rubio said at the time, "We can say, without any hesitation, that the Committee found absolutely no evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russian government to meddle in the 2016 election."

He added that the report had found "deeply troubling actions" on behalf of the FBI, "particularly their acceptance and willingness to rely on the ‘Steele Dossier’ without verifying its methodology or sourcing."

The Steele dossier was funded by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee through the law firm Perkins Coie.

Documents recently released by Gabbard found intelligence showing Russian actors did not impact the 2016 election had been "suppressed."

The Obama administration "manufactured and politicized intelligence" to create the narrative that Russia was attempting to influence the 2016 presidential election, despite information from the intelligence community stating otherwise, Gabbard claimed.

Gabbard also said the declassified documents have been shared with the Department of Justice and the FBI so those agencies can evaluate if any criminal implications stemming from the materials are warranted.

Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush responded to the DNI claims: "Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction."

"Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio," he added.

Rubio's office referred Fox News Digital to Leavitt's comments.

GABBARD CLAIMS OBAMA'S GOAL WITH RUSSIA NARRATIVE WAS TO 'SUBVERT’ THE WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Documents stated that intelligence officials had found Russia was "probably not trying… to influence the election by using cyber means."

One instance was on Dec. 7, 2016, weeks after the election. Then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s talking points stated: "Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the U.S. presidential election outcome."

A presidential daily brief prepared for President Barack Obama in 2016 assessed: "Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure."

But, the brief found, "Russian Government-affiliated actors most likely compromised an Illinois voter registration database and unsuccessfully attempted the same in other states."

The brief stated that it was "highly unlikely" the effort "would have resulted in altering any state’s official vote result."

"Criminal activity also failed to reach the scale and sophistication necessary to change election outcomes," it stated.

The brief said the office of the Director of National Intelligence assessed Russian activities "probably were intended to cause psychological effects, such as undermining the credibility of the election process and candidates."

Obama officials then "leaked false statements to media outlets," according to Gabbard’s office, claiming, "Russia has attempted through cyber means to interfere in, if not actively influence, the outcome of an election."

Beach town bans men's too-short swim trunks, sparking debate and rule flipflop

While some tourists may have a "sky's out, thighs out" attitude toward their swim trunks, one Mediterranean town begs to differ.

The mayor of Chetaïbi, Alegeria, called for longer and looser shorts on men — issuing a decree banning them from walking around in Bermuda shorts.

"These summer outfits disturb the population. They go against our society’s moral values and sense of decency," Mayor Layachi Allaoua said, according to The Associated Press (AP).

"The population can no longer tolerate seeing foreigners wandering the streets in indecent clothing," he added.

The decision sparked a regional debate over religious and traditional attire as opposed to the habits of more open-minded beachgoers.

Officials in the coastal city of Annaba called on the mayor to rescind his order.

After two days of controversy, the mayor did reverse the order — saying he wanted to preserve "peace and tranquility" for both locals and tourists and that he was not influenced by Islamist pressure, according to AP.

Florida vice mayor faces subpoena over investigation into drag show held at her bar

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued a subpoena to Vero Beach Vice Mayor Linda Moore in connection with a state probe into the "Pride Tea Dance" event held at her Kilted Mermaid bar late last month, according to a press release issued by the attorney general's office.

The Vero Beach establishment shared a poster on social media ahead of the event that included the phrase "ALL AGES WELCOME."

"Florida law protects children from sexualization. There is evidence that at the 'Pride Tea Dance' on June 29, 2025, sexualized adult performers wore revealing attire and burlesque outfits while interacting with the children," the press release from the attorney general's office states.

FLORIDA AG INVITES PEOPLE TO ALERT HIS OFFICE IF THEIR EX IS IN US ILLEGALLY: ‘WE’D BE HAPPY TO ASSIST'

The Sunshine State attorney general "issued subpoenas to Moore and Kilted Mermaid seeking" materials such as any surveillance footage, materials pertaining to those who performed at the establishment on June 29, materials regarding event attendees and more, according to the press release.

"Moore and Kilted Mermaid are required to produce the necessary documents by August 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.," according to the release, which links to a copy of the subpoena.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Kilted Mermaid to request a comment from Moore, who co-owns the bar with her husband Rick Norry, but they declined to comment.

"We have the event every year; it’s our gay pride event, and it is all ages," Moore said, according to NBC News. "It’s a family-friendly event, and then once the drag show actually starts, we tell the parents who have small children that they can’t stay for the show."

FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL SAYS HE IS WORKING TO MAKE HIS STATE THE SAFEST PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY

Sometimes parents wish to remain, Moore said, according to the outlet, indicating that she has a policy that the initial drag performance will be "really tame"— after the kids are gone performances can get "a little racy," she reportedly said, noting, "there's never nudity at any drag show."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Florida attorney general's office, but did not receive a comment by the time of publication.

"In Florida, we don't sacrifice the innocence of children for the perversions of some demented adults," Uthmeier said, according to the press release. "The Office of Statewide Prosecution opened an investigation into this sexualized performance to determine the extent of the content and exposure to children."

FLORIDA AG ASKS SUPREME COURT TO ALLOW HIM TO CONTINUE ENFORCING CONTROVERSIAL IMMIGRATION LAW

The bar is slated to have a "Drag Queen Bingo" event later this month, but social media posts by the Kilted Mermaid describe that event as "18+."

Poll Position: Mamdani's the frontrunner, but isn't running away with NYC mayoral race just yet

The winner of the New York City Democratic primary for mayor is traditionally considered the overwhelming frontrunner in the general election.

That's because Democrats outnumber Republicans roughly six-to-one in the nation's most populous city.

However, that's not the case this year, one month after democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, the 33-year-old Ugandan-born, state assemblyman from Queens, stunned the political world by topping former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates in a come-from-behind primary victory to capture the nomination.

President Donald Trump believes that Cuomo, who last week officially announced he would continue his mayoral bid as an independent candidate, has a solid chance of defeating Mamdani, whom the president has repeatedly claimed is a "communist."

"I would think that he would have a good shot at winning," the president told reporters at the White House last week, a day after Cuomo's announcement.

MAMDANI ON EXTENDED AFRICA TRIP AMID NYC MAYORAL CAMPAIGN

A handful of polls conducted this month in New York City suggest that Mamdani is the frontrunner, but that he is far from running away with the race. The surveys indicate Mamdani ahead of Cuomo anywhere from around 15 points to as few as three points.

Trailing Mamdani and Cuomo in the surveys are Mayor Eric Adams, the embattled incumbent who announced earlier this year that he would seek re-election as an independent candidate, and Guardian Angels co-founder Curtis Sliwa, who for a second straight election is the Republican mayoral nominee.

CUOMO QUIPS ‘EVEN I WILL MOVE TO FLORIDA’ IF MAMDANI WINS NYC MAYORAL BID

Also on the ballot in the general election is Jim Walden, a former federal prosecutor running as an independent.

Walden has proposed that an independent survey be conducted in September to determine which candidate would have the best shot of defeating Mamdani, with the other candidates agreeing to drop out.

Cuomo has embraced the idea, with Adams and Sliwa not signing on board.

Having the former governor, who resigned in 2021 amid multiple scandals, and Adams, who has faced a slew of controversies since winning election as mayor four years ago, both agreeing that such a scenario seems remote, both have urged the other to exit the race.

"We have to put our political ambitions in the backseat to the interests of New Yorkers," Walden said this past weekend in an interview with Fox News' Bryan Llenas.

POTUS THE PUNDIT: TRUMP SAYS CUOMO'S GOT A 'GOOD SHOT' OF BEATING MAMDANI

He charged that the other candidates "right now, they're putting their own political ambitions above New Yorkers."

Since his Democratic Party nomination victory, some of the unions and elected officials that supported Cuomo in the primary are now backing Mamdani.

Mamdani, who was backed by progressive champions Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, surged to a primary victory thanks to an energetic campaign that put a major focus on affordability and New York City's high cost of living.

Mamdani made smart use of social media platforms, including TikTok, as he engaged low-propensity voters. He proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City's vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) "tuition-free," freezing rents on municipal housing, offering "free childcare" for children up to age 5 and setting up government-run grocery stores.

Republicans have targeted Mamdani and tried to turn him into the new face of the Democratic Party. They aim to anchor him to vulnerable Democrats across the country running in elections this year and next year.

Republicans have spotlighted recent news items regarding Mamdani that have gone viral. They include a 2020 photo Mamdani posted online that shows him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus, stories about comments Mamdani made last December when he said as mayor he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his recent comments in a cable news interview that "I have many critiques of capitalism."

"I don’t think that race is over yet. We do have a couple of people running. There are things coming out about him," Trump said last week, as he referred to Mamdani.

Chris Paul, Clippers agree on deal in last push for NBA title: reports

NBA star Chris Paul will reportedly sign a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers in a potential final bid to win a championship.

Paul and the Clippers agreed to the deal as the point guard had multiple teams interested in his services, ESPN reported on Monday. He previously spent six seasons with Los Angeles from 2011 to 2017.

The All-Star will be entering Year 21 of his future Hall of Fame career. But the Clippers will mark his fourth team in four years. He was with the Phoenix Suns in 2022-23 before he played with the Golden State Warriors in 2023-24 and then the San Antonio Spurs last season.

He played and started all 82 games for the Spurs, however, and averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 assists on a team anchored by Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle.

Paul is a 12-time All-Star, an 11-time All-NBA First-Team selection and was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. Yet, he still has not been on a championship team. The closest he came was when he was with the Suns in the 2020-21 season. Phoenix made the NBA Finals but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games.

10 STARS WITH HALL-OF-FAME TALENT WHOSE CAREERS WERE STUNTED BY INJURIES

The Clippers have never made the NBA Finals in the history of their franchise.

Paul will join a Clippers team that has Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and the recently acquired Bradley Beal.

Los Angeles positioned itself as a legitimate title contender but will have to get through the reigning champs, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Obama now 'squarely in Russiagate crosshairs,' journalist Matt Taibbi claims

Former President Obama is now "squarely" in the crosshairs of the Russiagate "scam," journalist Matt Taibbi wrote in a Racket News piece on Saturday, shortly after DNI Tulsi Gabbard's office unleashed a blitz of documents and a memo said to detail the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.

Taibbi quoted an unnamed source in describing Obama as no longer being a "tertiary" character in the "scam" that followed President Trump's 2016 election win over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

He elaborated on the remark Monday on "America's Newsroom."

OBAMA OFFICIALS ADMITTED THEY HAD NO 'EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE' OF TRUMP-RUSSIA COLLUSION: HOUSE INTEL TRANSCRIPTS

"The last major revelation that came out was that John Brennan and James Comey were the focus of criminal investigations that had been opened by the Justice Department, but these new documents that were released by Tulsi Gabbard… make it clear that the investigation is now aimed at the Obama White House and, in particular, at Barack Obama, because of decisions that were made in early December 2016 to suppress the presidential daily briefing and go ahead and order a new intelligence community assessment that ultimately would have much more aggressive conclusions about Trump and Russia," he told co-host Bill Hemmer.

Last Friday, Gabbard declassified documents which she says implicate the former president and members of his national security team who "manufactured and politicized intelligence" to create the narrative that Russia was attempting to influence the 2016 presidential election — despite information from the intelligence community stating otherwise.

A declassified copy of the Dec. 8, 2016 presidential daily brief for President Obama obtained by Fox News Digital reads, in part, "We assess that Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent U.S. election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure."

It continues: "Russian government-affiliated actors most likely compromised an Illinois voter registration database and unsuccessfully attempted the same in other states."

OBAMA OFFICIALS USED DOSSIER TO PROBE, BRIEF TRUMP DESPITE KNOWING IT WAS UNVERIFIED 'INTERNET RUMOR'

A bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee investigation later found that, while Trump may not have accepted Russian help, Russia did meddle in some fashion.

The chairman of the Intel Committee at the time — then-Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who now serves as the top diplomat to the United States under Trump — put out a statement that said, "The committee found absolutely no evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russian government to meddle in the 2016 election. What the committee did find, however, is very troubling. We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling."

Taibbi said he has heard frequent complaints that the information released by Gabbard had not come out sooner.

"A former high-ranking Trump official said [to me] there was, 'So much corruption in the last Trump presidency that this shouldn't have been overlooked, that these documents should have come out,' but the overall sense I get is that everyone's happy that they finally are coming out, and they're looking forward to what is likely to come out this week," he said.

Though Obama and his representatives did not respond to Fox News Digital's previous requests for comment, Democratic lawmakers have reacted to the development with their own series of statements.

Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., a ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, criticized Gabbard's claims as "baseless."

"Few episodes in our nation’s history have been investigated as thoroughly as the Intelligence Community’s warning in 2016 that Russia was interfering in the election," Himes said in a statement posted to X

"Every legitimate investigation, including the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee investigation, found no evidence of politicization and endorsed the findings of the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment."

Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, accused Gabbard of "weaponizing her position to amplify the president's election conspiracy theories."

Trump demands end to cashless bail, says 'complete disaster' driving crime in cities, endangering police

President Donald Trump demanded cashless bail end immediately on Monday, citing crime in U.S. cities, as well as increased attacks on law enforcement.

"Crime in American Cities started to significantly rise when they went to CASHLESS BAIL. The WORST criminals are flooding our streets and endangering even our great law enforcement officers," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.

"It is a complete disaster, and must be ended, IMMEDIATELY!" Trump wrote.

The post was published as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem held a press conference in New York City after visiting a Customs and Border Protection officer who was shot while off-duty on Saturday night. The suspect is a previously deported Dominical national, who Noem said has a "rap sheet that is a mile long," has an active warrant against him in Massachusetts for armed robbery with a firearm, and who has been arrested in New York City four separate times.

NOEM BLAMES 'SANCTUARY' POLICIES FOR MIGRANT ACCUSED OF SHOOTING OFF-DUTY CBP OFFICER

Noem criticized the open border policies under former President Joe Biden, as well as sanctuary polices in New York City, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago in particular in the wake of the shooting.

"When I look at what Mayor Adams has done to New York City, it breaks my heart to see the families that have suffered because of his policies," Noem said. "We can look across this country at other mayors. We look at Mayor Wu in Boston and what has happened there under her watch, what's happened in LA with the riots and the violence and the protests that have gone on because of Mayor Bass and what she has perpetuated. When you look at Mayor Johnson in Chicago and how devastating it is to live in that city in some of those poorest communities, how they suffer every single day with the violence that's in front of them."

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a former police officer, has been a strong critic of the state's cashless bail law, which was enacted by former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2019 and perpetuated under his successor, current Gov. Kathy Hochul. Cuomo, while campaigning for mayor, has noted the cashless bail law has faced amendments that increased judicial discretion in recent years, but he has defended criminal justice reform broadly as a correction of racial and income inequities.

Adams, who has argued Cuomo-era bail reforms drove up recidivism rates, resulting in offenders repeatedly being arrested and released back on the streets, now faces the former governor in November's mayoral election. Adams and Cuomo are both independent candidates in the contest, where Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani is seen as the front-runner after his June primary win. Mamdani has promoted radical initiatives, such as eliminating all cash bail and abolishing prisons.

LA MAYOR BASS DODGES QUESTION ON WHETHER ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN CITY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO STAY

Under his tenure, Cuomo pushed policies discouraging state agencies from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While Adams initially defended New York City's "sanctuary" status, he grew critical of the Biden administration amid surges of illegal immigrants arriving to the Big Apple from the southern border and has more recently cooperated with the Trump administration's border czar, Tom Homan, on immigration enforcement.

DHS reported last week that ICE officials are facing an 830% increase in assaults in the first six months of Trump's term compared to the same time period last year.

Illinois, meanwhile, broadly eliminated all cash bail in 2023 with a provision included in law known as the SAFE-T Act. The provision, dubbed the Pretrial Fairness Act, was endorsed by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who argued at the time that "cash bail does not make communities safer" and "has simply exacerbated existing inequities and disparities in the criminal legal system," according to FOX 32 Chicago.

Former and current Chicago-area police officials recently spoke to FOX 32 condemning the SAFE-T Act, arguing the elimination of cash bail helps criminals and harms police officers.

In Los Angeles County, what's known as the "Pre-Arraignment Release Protocol (PARP)" took effect in October 2023, eliminating cash bail for most nonviolent offenses. It was met with an initial wave of lawsuits from 12 cities who argued the zero-bail switch jeopardized public safety. The Superior Court of Los Angeles County in March defended the protocol in a report that argued judges can conduct individualized risk assessments based on a suspect's criminal history, flight risk and offense severity.

GOP senator reveals the 'dirty' secret to Trump's Make America Healthy Again movement

FIRST ON FOX: For one lawmaker, the path to making Americans healthier starts in the dirt.

Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., has styled himself as an early adopter of the Make America Healthy Again movement, a political slogan born on the 2024 campaign trail that has since seen major companies tweak their products to nix artificial additives.

But Marshall sees the initiative, commonly known as MAHA, as one that can start sooner than switching the oil in deep friers or swapping out high-fructose corn syrup for cane sugar in soda.

SENATORS PUSH BACK AGAINST VOUGHT'S CALL FOR MORE PARTISAN SPENDING PROCESS

He has his own four pillars of MAHA, which include dialing up efficiency in agriculture; healthier, more nutrient-rich food; affordable access to primary care healthcare; and addressing mental health challenges among young people.

But it all starts below the surface with soil health.

"Soil is a dirty topic, you know, pun intended," Marshall told Fox News Digital in an interview.

MAHA diehards and farmers are, at a surface level, at odds with one another, he said. For example, returning to an entirely organic food production process devoid of fertilizers would create healthier food, but also crank up the costs on consumers and strain farmland.

TWO REPUBLICANS VOTE AGAINST TRUMP'S $9 BILLION CLAWBACK OF FOREIGN AID, NPR FUNDING

Earlier in the week, Marshall held a roundtable with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to try and bridge that gap.

"Soil health seems to be the common ground," he said. "So healthy soil meets healthy food meets healthy people. Rather than MAHA telling these farmers what you can and can't do, we wanted to say, ‘What's our goal here?’ If we have the same goals, then we're going to figure this out. Well, the goal is healthy soil."

Getting those two in a room together, along with experts on regenerative agriculture, which is a more holistic approach to farming that targets soil health by restoring and enhancing ecosystems, is just a part of his plan.

He also intends to drop a massive package of bills that is divided up into categories that echo his four pillars, including legislation geared toward health care, mental health, nutrition and agriculture.

Among the nearly 30 bills and amendments in the package is one Marshall is particularly keen to see codified. The Plant Biostimulant Act would spur usage of organisms that can be placed into the soil and that latch onto the roots of plants that absorb nitrates and more water, he said.

'LONG OVERDUE': SENATE REPUBLICANS RAM THROUGH TRUMP'S CLAWBACK PACKAGE WITH CUTS TO FOREIGN AID, NPR

The bill ties in directly with his passion for regenerative agriculture, which uses fewer fertilizers, water and other status-quo farming techniques to produce healthier foods on more sustainable farmland, which, in turn, would yield a cheaper, more nutritious diet for Americans.

"It's growing more with less," he said.

Among the various, bipartisan pieces of legislation from both chambers are bills that would push mobile cancer screenings with grant funding, add mental health warnings for kids scrolling through social media, require more transparency in food ingredients, expansion of employer healthcare coverage for chronic diseases, and measures that would allow bleeding edge soil health technology and processes to be considered conservation practices and eligible for Farm Bill funding, among others.

CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Most bills need to get 60 votes to pass in the Senate, Marshall noted, and that led to a desire to incorporate as many bipartisan measures in the package as possible. It’s also a topic that, in spite of the political polarization in Washington, "unites us, rather than divides us."

Still, with President Donald Trump in office, he sees the chance for the measures to pass as a kind of now or never moment.

"We're seeing a time in our lives where the incidence of cancer, the age of cancer, is growing younger and younger, the age of Alzheimer's onset is growing younger and younger, and we believe it's an inflammatory reaction to the food that we're eating that leads to all that," he said.

"We think heart disease, hypertension, is really an inflammatory reaction… to the food we're eating and the constantly high sugar levels in our blood system," he continued. "So absolutely, I think, seize the moment. This is it."

Temu sued by Kentucky for allegedly giving China ‘unfettered’ access to user data

FIRST ON FOX: Kentucky’s attorney general filed a lawsuit Thursday against e-commerce giant Temu, alleging that its app illegally gives the Chinese government access to Americans’ user data and that the company lifts intellectual property from U.S.-owned companies.

In a complaint filed in Woodford County Circuit Court, state attorneys asked for an injunction against Temu, an Amazon rival with a China-originating parent company, for what they described as "multifold" harms.

Kentucky investigators identified "code-level behaviors" in the Temu app that involved the collection of users' sensitive personal data in a manner that was not secure, in violation of state consumer protection laws, the attorneys said.

PRESSURE FROM SHEIN, TEMU ACCELERATE RETAIL CLOSURES

"These privacy and security harms are compounded both because the Temu app is purposely designed to evade detection … and because Defendants — by their own [acknowledgment] — have a portion of their operations located on mainland China, where cybersecurity laws allow the government unfettered access to data owned by Chinese businesses whenever it wishes," the attorneys wrote.

The complaint alleged that Temu improperly collects users' Wi-Fi and GPS information, as well as camera data without appropriate permission.

The attorneys also alleged that Temu brazenly sells products using stolen intellectual property of large and small brands, including that of Kentucky’s historic horse racetrack in Louisville.

"As of the date of this filing, Temu features dozens of what appear to be unlicensed products claiming to be from Kentucky brands like the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, Buffalo Trace Distillery and Churchill Downs," the complaint reads.

TEMU, SHEIN TO RAISE PRICES FOR US CONSUMERS STARTING NEXT WEEK AS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION CLOSES TARIFF LOOPHOLE

Temu’s parent company is PDD Holdings, which originated in China but moved to Ireland. Before launching Temu in the United States in 2022, PDD Holdings founded Temu’s sister company, Pinduoduo, a Chinese online retailer.

Temu has become known for its heavily discounted products and aggressive advertising strategy, which included three multimillion-dollar animated Super Bowl ads last year. Temu was Apple's most downloaded free app in 2023, according to TechCrunch.

Temu's tagline is "Shop like a billionaire," though its pricing structure has in recent months been disrupted by Trump's trade war with China.

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman said the company's "cheap products and flashy marketing" distract from more insidious problems.

"Their platform can infect Kentuckians’ devices with malware, steal their personal data and send it directly to the Chinese government," Coleman, an elected Republican and former U.S. attorney, said in a statement. "At the same time, they’re eroding trust in some of Kentucky’s most iconic brands, which could lead to job losses and hardship."

The lawsuit is the latest instance of Temu coming under scrutiny, mainly by Republicans, for its ties to China, a top U.S. adversary. Last year, 20 GOP state attorneys general demanded information from Temu's ownership about allegations brought by Congress that its China-based suppliers used forced labor. Temu denied the claim at the time.

Fox News Digital reached out to Temu for comment.

UK government to lower voting age to 16 before next national election despite strong conservative opposition

The United Kingdom is lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 before the next national elections – a move which opposition figures decry as a way to sway the electorate to benefit the left.

The U.K. government, controlled by the Labour Party, announced Thursday that 16- and 17-year-olds will be given the right to vote as part of other new "seismic changes." Other election reforms include extending voter ID to bank cards, issuing new rules meant to "guard against foreign political interference and abuse of campaigners," and tightening laws restricting foreign donations to British political parties.

In an accompanying policy paper included in the announcement, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said that "declining trust in our institutions and democracy itself has become critical, but it is the responsibility of government to turn this around and renew our democracy, just as generations have done before us."

UKRAINE'S ZELENSKYY NAMES NEW PRIME MINISTER FOR FIRST TIME SINCE RUSSIA'S WAR BEGAN

"I think it's really important that 16- and 17-year-olds have the vote because they're old enough to go out to work, they're old enough to pay taxes, so to pay in. And I think if you pay in, you should have the opportunity to say what you want your money spent on, which way the government should go," British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told reporters on Thursday. "I'm really pleased that we're able to bring more young people into our democracy."

"Young people already contribute to society by working, paying taxes and serving in the military. It's only right they can have a say on the issues that affect them," Rayner wrote on X. The deputy prime minister also elaborated in a statement, adding: "We cannot take our democracy for granted, and by protecting our elections from abuse and boosting participation we will strengthen the foundations of our society for the future."

The minimum age of service in the British Armed Forces is 16, but those under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian and may not be deployed to combat zones.

British opposition politicians accused the Labour Party of trying to manipulate the electorate in their favor by lowering the voting age.

"Why does this government think a 16‑year‑old can vote but not be allowed to buy a lottery ticket or an alcoholic drink, marry or go to war, or even stand in the elections they’re voting?" Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Holmes, a conservative, said in the House of Commons on Thursday. "Isn’t the government’s position on the age of maturity just hopelessly confused?"

UK TO ROLL OUT RED CARPET IN ‘UNPRECEDENTED’ SECOND TRUMP VISIT HOSTED BY KING CHARLES

Holmes accused Labour of "governing by press release" and questioned whether allowing bank cards – which do not include photographs – as a form of voter ID will undermine security measures at the ballot box.

Nigel Farage, leader of the right-wing Reform UK Party, said giving 16- and 17-year-olds the right to vote "is an attempt to rig the political system."

"The problem with this is, not only do half of youngsters not want the vote, but they have to stay at school now until they're 18," Farage said in a video shared to X. "The educational establishment is full of left-wing prejudice, is full of anti-reform bias, and frankly, if 16 to 18 year olds at school are going to be able to vote, we're going to have to make sure that our education system is teaching kids to make their own minds up and not indoctrinating them."

The change still requires parliamentary approval but was a campaign promise by the Labour Party, which won last year's general election and holds majority control. The next general election is in 2029.

Rayner noted that 16- and 17-year-olds can already vote in Scotland and Wales in local elections and country-level parliamentary elections. The minimum voting age for local elections in England and Northern Ireland is 18.

In an opinion piece in the British newspaper "The Times," Rayner, who was a single mother at the age of 16, said the change makes 1.6 million 16- and 17-year-olds eligible to vote in the United Kingdom, which has a population of roughly 68 million.

"This is about fairness and transparency and giving the young a stake in our country’s future, bringing them into our communities, not excluding them," Rayner wrote. "It’s about delivering on our manifesto to commitment to secure votes at 16. But it’s also about strengthening our electoral system so that it is fit for the 21st century — because we cannot take our democracy for granted."

ICE mask debate heats up as doxxing and agent assaults surge

The growing national debate over whether federal immigration agents should be allowed to wear masks during dangerous enforcement actions is intensifying into a showdown between the Trump administration, Democrats and anti-ICE activists.

The news comes as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has raised concerns about the doxxing of ICE agents, as attacks on them have skyrocketed by 830% since January, the agency said.

In a new July memo, the DHS has called on the Justice Department to prosecute anyone suspected of "doxxing" ICE agents by posting agents’ photos and personal information online or in public.

4 ARRESTED IN ALLEGED BORDER PATROL OPERATION SABOTAGE ATTEMPT NEAR LA AS ATTACKS ON IMMIGRATION AGENTS SURGE

"We will prosecute those who dox ICE agents to the fullest extent of the law. These criminals are taking the side of vicious cartels and human traffickers," DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is quoted in the memo. "We won’t allow it in America."

In California, a bill aimed at preventing law enforcement from covering their faces passed a key committee this week, edging it one step closer to becoming state law.

Similar bills have been introduced in Massachusetts and New York, while 21 Democrat attorneys general have also urged Congress to ban federal immigration agents from wearing masks or plainclothes during enforcement operations.

Sens. Alex Padilla, D-Calif., and Cory Booker, D-N.J., two of the leading Capitol Hill critics of President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration, introduced legislation that would require immigration enforcement officers to clearly identify themselves without masks.

Democrats like Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Congressman Lou Correa of California have also spoken out against the facial coverings.

"Only the bad guys wear masks, let's knock it off," Correa said.

There is currently no standalone federal statute that criminalizes doxxing, although if someone posts ICE agents’ personal info with the intent to harass, threaten or incite violence, it may violate the law.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R- Tenn., last month introduced the Protecting Law Enforcement from Doxxing Act, which would make doxxing federal agents a serious crime, carrying up to five years in prison and fines.

"When their name, their operation, their work is being revealed, we will make that a federal crime," Blackburn told Fox News.

MASSACHUSETTS BILL WOULD FORCE ICE AGENTS TO UNMASK

Blackburn introduced the legislation after Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, a Democrat, faced backlash for releasing a public report naming federal officers, which ultimately resulted in doxxing accusations.

There are also websites and social media accounts growing in notoriety that have the self-described missions of revealing who federal immigration agents are. Some cases go into great detail with photos, history and identifying information of federal immigration workers.

A current ICE special agent told Fox News that he was shocked to learn that he and his wife’s photos and their small town location were posted on a doxxing website recently.

"My wife is home a lot with my three kids, and she doesn't have the ability to protect herself like I do," said the agent, who asked not to be identified.

The agent’s doxxing is costing his family emotionally and financially. He said that after he puts his kids to sleep at night, he walks the perimeter of his property and is constantly worried about his family at home while he’s in the field.

"We spent close to $1,000 on additional cameras for various points of our home," the agent said.

Anti-ICE activists across the U.S. have been protesting immigration enforcement, sometimes harassing ICE agents and demanding their badge numbers and the removal of their masks.

At times, the protesters have turned violent.

ICE agents were attacked and had rocks thrown at their moving vehicles during a raid on a marijuana farm last week, while ICE agents have also come under attack outside an ICE detention facility in Portland. Law enforcement vehicles were also pelted with rocks during deportation-linked rioting in Los Angeles.

DHS accused Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Calif., of showing a violent mob an ICE employee’s business card, prompting a mob to attack him. The official was struck by a rock and sent to the emergency room, where he received multiple stitches, DHS said.

"Brave ICE law enforcement are risking their lives every day to keep our communities safe from the worst of the worst criminals," McLaughlin said. "ICE law enforcement are succeeding to remove terrorists, murderers, pedophiles and the most depraved among us from America’s communities, even as crazed rhetoric from gutter politicians are inspiring a massive increase in assaults against them."

"It is reprehensible that our officers are facing this threat while simply doing their jobs and enforcing the law."

NPR CEO warns staff 'tremendous amount of change' coming if federal funding yanked

NPR CEO Katherine Maher warned staffers on Thursday that the outlet would go through significant changes if they end up losing federal funding.

Senate Republicans passed President Donald Trump’s multibillion-dollar clawback package early Thursday morning. The $9 billion rescissions bill teed up cuts to "woke" spending on foreign aid programs and NPR and PBS that Congress previously approved, as Republicans seek to yank federal money from the public news outlets.

NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik posted on X that Maher and the NPR corporate team were addressing staffers on Thursday, and that while he wasn't present at the off-the-record meeting, staffers present were notifying him of key portions.

NPR is facing efforts by President Donald Trump and GOP lawmakers to shut down its federal funding.

"We are going to go through a tremendous amount of change," Maher said, according to NPR's media correspondent.

The CEO also told staffers that they would "continue pushing" until the end of the process.

"We are taking this one all the way to the end," Maher said, according to Folkenfilk.

Maher challenged critics on Wednesday during a CNN interview to show her a story that proves the outlet is biased.

"It doesn‘t help anyone to take this funding away," Maher said. "As far as the accusations that we‘re biased, I would stand up and say, ‘Please show me a story that concerns you,’ because we want to know, and we want to bring that conversation back to our newsroom."

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., and conservative commentators reacted to the post with examples.

Kennedy posted a thread featuring videos of himself on the Senate floor providing examples of NPR's political bias.

Constitutional scholar uses Biden autopen to flip Dems’ ‘democracy’ script against them: ‘Scandal’

Constitutional legal scholar Randy Barnett admonished Democrats' rhetoric claiming democracy is at risk under the Trump administration when "the biggest constitutional scandal in US history" played out under the Biden administration with the use of the autopen.

"For all the talk of a ‘constitutional crisis' or threats to ‘our democracy’ having the executive branch systematically run by unknown subordinates of a mentally incompetent president is the biggest constitutional scandal in US history – it’s called into question the legality of official acts done in his name but without proper authority," Barnett posted to X Monday.

"Southern secession was a ‘constitutional crisis,’" Barnett added in a follow-up message Tuesday. "This is a constitutional scandal."

Barnett, a Georgetown University law professor who serves as the director of the Georgetown Center for the Constitution, was referring to an interview former President Joe Biden conducted with the New York Times defending his use of an autopen. Biden said he orally approved a long list of clemency and pardon actions at the end of his tenure, but that his aides used the autopen to officiate the actions.

BIDEN CHIEF OF STAFF REPORTEDLY GAVE APPROVAL FOR AUTOPEN PARDONS ON FINAL DAY IN OFFICE

Amid the Biden autopen controversy, Democratic lawmakers and left-wing media pundits have continued slamming Trump as a threat to democracy – which was a common talking point during the election cycle – and claiming his actions as president, such as deporting illegal immigrants and revoking visa privileges for some foreign students, have thrown the U.S. into a constitutional crisis

Biden told the Times that he was aware of every pardon ahead of leaving office in 2024, which included clemency and commutation actions related to 2,500 nonviolent drug offenders in his final weeks in office alone.

"I made every decision," Biden told the Times in a phone interview earlier in July that was published Sunday. He added that staff used the autopen for the pardons and commutations "because there were a lot of them."

"Mr. Biden did not individually approve each name for the categorical pardons that applied to large numbers of people, he and aides confirmed," the Times reported. "Rather, after extensive discussion of different possible criteria, he signed off on the standards he wanted to be used to determine which convicts would qualify for a reduction in sentence."

BIDEN DEFENDS CONTROVERSIAL AUTOPEN USE FOR MASS CLEMENCY DECISIONS IN NYT INTERVIEW: 'A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE'

Biden also pardoned Anthony Fauci, former chief medical advisor to the president; former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley; and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots. Less than half an hour before Trump became president, Biden also pardoned members of his family, including his brothers James B. Biden and Francis W. Biden, sister Valerie Biden Owens and brother-in-law John T. Owens.

Autopen signatures are produced by a machine, as opposed to an authentic, handwritten signature.

The conservative Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project first investigated the Biden administration's use of an autopen earlier in 2025 and found that the same signature was on a bevvy of executive orders and other official documents, while Biden’s signature on the document announcing his departure from the 2024 race varied from the apparent machine-produced signature.

The use of the autopen follows years of mounting concern that Biden's mental acuity and health were deteriorating, which hit a fever pitch during the 2024 campaign cycle following the president's disastrous debate performance against Trump. Biden ultimately dropped out of the race on July 21, 2024, and endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris to run in his place.

Since reclaiming the Oval Office, Trump has balked at his predecessor's use of the autopen, claiming Biden's staff allegedly used the pen to sign off on presidential actions unbeknownst to Biden.

"I guarantee you he knew nothing about what he was signing, I guarantee you," Trump said Monday when asked about Biden's interview with the Times.

TRUMP RESPONDS TO BIDEN DISMISSAL OF AUTOPEN PROBE, SAYS HE DIDN'T KNOW 'WHAT WAS GOING ON'

Biden's interview follows Trump sending a memo to the Department of Justice in June directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether Biden administration aides conspired to deceive the public about his mental state, and simultaneously used an autopen to sign key presidential actions.

TRUMP ORDERS ATTORNEY GENERAL TO INVESTIGATE BIDEN'S AUTOPEN USE AMID COGNITIVE DECLINE CONCERNS

"In recent months, it has become increasingly apparent that former President Biden's aides abused the power of Presidential signatures through the use of an autopen to conceal Biden's cognitive decline and assert Article II authority," Trump wrote in his letter. "This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history. The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power, all while Biden's signature was deployed across thousands of documents to effect radical policy shifts."

Biden said in his New York Times interview that Trump and other Republicans are "liars" for claiming he was incapacitated as president and that his aides used the pen for official presidential actions.

"They’re liars. They know it. They know, for certain. I mean, this is – look, what they, they’ve had a pretty good thing going here. They’ve done so badly. They’ve lied so consistently about almost everything they’re doing. The best thing they can do is try to change the focus and focus on something else. And this is a – I think that’s what this is about," he said.

‘Profound cowardice’: Booker slams Waltz for 'failure of leadership,' Signalgate accountability

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., accused Mike Waltz of displaying "profound cowardice" at the former national security advisor's confirmation hearing to represent the U.S. at the U.N. Tuesday, amid questions about the Signal group chat that his team had set up to discuss strikes against the Houthis in March.

Booker, who refused to ask any questions, said Waltz failed to take accountability when other lawmakers on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee asked him about what has been called "Signalgate."

While members of the Trump administration have said no classified information was disclosed in the chat, which mistakenly included a journalist, Democrats have claimed that certain details were classified and jeopardized the safety of the troops involved in the strikes.

"It compounds what I think is disqualifying about you for this position. It also, to me, just shows profound cowardice," Booker said. "You should step up right now."

"I just watched with great disappointment that even after weeks, if not months of reflection, you couldn't sit before this committee and take some responsibility and talk constructively about what's learned," Booker said.

Waltz faced questions earlier from Sens. Chris Coons, D-Conn, and Tim Kaine, D-Va., on his involvement in the group chat, where a journalist from the Atlantic was included along with other top administration officials such as Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth

SENATE DEMOCRATS PREDICTING ‘BRUTAL’ UN AMBASSADOR CONFIRMATION HEARING FOR MIKE WALTZ

During their questioning, Waltz maintained that no classified information was shared in the group chat, and said no disciplinary action was taken following a White House investigation. The Pentagon’s inspector general’s investigation is currently ongoing.

"I have nothing but deep disappointment in what I consider a failure of leadership on your part. God, America needs now more than ever – forget the partisanship – just people to step up and show heart and integrity and honor," Booker said. "When you lie, defer, deflect, demean and degrade journalists, to me it's absolutely unacceptable. I have no questions. I cannot support your nomination. I think you've shown a failure of leadership at a time that America especially needs people of honor to stand up and show what leadership actually is."

Waltz, who before his time at the National Security Council previously served as a U.S. congressman from Florida and is a retired Army National Guard colonel and former Green Beret, challenged Booker’s statement.

NEXT US NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR? HERE'S WHOM TRUMP MIGHT PICK TO REPLACE WALTZ

"I appreciate the men and women that I've had to lead in combat," Waltz said. "And I think the last thing they would call me is a coward."

Waltz and Hegseth both faced scrutiny for their involvement in the Signal chat that Waltz’s team created, where members of the Trump administration discussed strike plans against the Houthis.

In March, Waltz claimed he bore "full responsibility" for the Signal group chat, and the Trump administration has historically maintained no classified information was shared over the chats.  The Atlantic published the full exchange of messages, which revealed that Hegseth included certain attack details such as specific aircraft and times of the strikes.

President Donald Trump announced Waltz's departure from heading up the National Security Council at the White House on May 1, and hours later announced the former Florida congressman’s nomination to represent the U.S. at the U.N.

Waltz could not be reached for comment by Fox News Digital.

Summer beach battle between locals and visitors heats up as overtourism soars

As overtourism continues to grow into a serious problem, the summer travel season has European locals fighting for beach real estate.

Local tourism has fallen in Spain by 800,000 people — while foreign tourism has seen an increase of 1.94 million visitors, according to The Associated Press (AP).

Spaniard Wendy Davila told AP she misses the days of her childhood holidays visiting Alicante on the Mediterranean.

AMERICANS TARGETED IN MEXICO CITY AS LOCALS PROTEST AGAINST TOURISM AND SOARING RENTS

"Now you don't go on [vacation] wherever you want, but wherever you can," said Davila.

She added, "Prices have risen outrageously. The whole Spanish coast is very expensive."

Last month, protesters gathered in Barcelona and on the island of Mallorca.

Some squirted tourists with water guns to try to "cool town" tourism, claiming their rents are soaring, Fox News Digital previously reported.

Jose Maria Basanez, group president of price monitoring firm Tecnitasa, told AP, "It is becoming increasingly difficult for Spanish holidaymakers to afford beachfront tourism rentals."

Most beachfront rentals were booked for the summer by the first quarter, with prices rising 20.3% since mid-2023, according to Tecnitasa.

Ninety-four million international travelers visited Spain in 2024, according to the country’s tourism minister.

Juan Pedro Aznar, professor and researcher at the Madrid-based Esade business school, told AP there could be a displacement effect due to Spaniards’ purchasing power in comparison to that of foreign tourists.

"I used to go to my family's house, but there are more and more foreign tourists in Cadiz and when a cruise ship arrives, the population doubles," said Aznar.

He added, "It's overwhelming."

Locals in Spain made about 400,000 fewer trips to the major cities, while foreign tourist trips to Spanish cities increased by nearly 3 million last year, according to AP.

Barcelona officials had planned to ban short-term tourist apartment rentals by 2028, FOX Business previously reported.

Short-term rentals in Barcelona have been stagnant for years, remaining at around 10,000 since 2014, according to figures from Barcelona’s City Hall.

Border czar Tom Homan defends ICE agents masking up in clash with podcast host: 'Let me answer'

Trump administration border czar Tom Homan said Sunday he believes it’s entirely reasonable that Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents (ICE) are wearing masks while arresting illegal immigrants in a new podcast exchange.

In an interview on Politico’s "The Conversation" podcast, Homan told host Dasha Burns that agents are masking up because they have become targets for attacks.

"The attacks on ICE is unprecedented, 700% increased. And we're not even talking about the doxing of agents, their spouses and their children," he said, noting people revealing ICE agents’ identities and home addresses to the public.

TRUMP TO VISIT 'ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ' FOR GRAND OPENING OF SWAMPY EVERGLADES DETENTION CENTER FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS

Burns noted some Americans have been critical of footage showing ICE agents wearing masks or finding other ways to obscure their identities while arresting illegal immigrants, and others have raised concerns about copycats who can masquerade as ICE agents for nefarious purposes.

"I think one of the things that's had a lot of folks up in arms is that ICE agents — unlike other law enforcement — have been masked to protect their identities. That's not something that we've really had on this scale in this country. Do you––," she said, as Homan interjected in a clip flagged by The Daily Caller.

"Well, we never had the scale of attacks on ICE we have now — up 700% attacks on ICE, doxing against ICE agents," he said.

During the Fourth of July weekend, 10 individuals attacked a detention center in Alvarado, Texas where the Department of Homeland Security was holding people accused of immigration violations. Authorities charged the suspects with attempted murder of a federal officer after one of them shot a police officer in the neck during the attack.

The officer is expected to make a full recovery.

TEXAS POLICE OFFICER SHOT NEAR ICE DETENTION CENTER AS TRUMP OFFICIALS PROMISE ZERO TOLERANCE

Later that weekend, a suspect in a "utility vest" and armed with an assault rifle fired dozens of rounds at federal agents and a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border, on Monday.

A police officer was injured before authorities say they shot and killed the assailant, identified as 27-year-old Ryan Louis Mosqueda.

During their interview, Burns pointed out to Homan how other law enforcement groups haven’t adopted the practice of masking up during their operations.

"Name a police agency that has a 700% increase in assaults. Name one. You can't," Homan said, as Burns admitted she hadn’t "looked at that date."

"So, they're wearing masks to help give them some sort of protection," Homan said elsewhere, adding the question, "The same people that are complaining about ICE wearing masks, have they ever said anything about BLM protesters wearing masks?"

CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE

Burns tried to get a word in edgewise, but Homan didn’t let up.

"Let me answer though. Let me answer. Did they ever say anything about the masked protesters that became criminals on college campuses that threatened Jewish students and took over buildings, destroyed property? They were all wearing masks. Did anybody pass legislation saying they can't wear a mask during a protest? No."

"There needs to be some level of protection, because the attacks is unprecedented," Homan added.
