Virginia Tech player blasts ACC after reversed walk-off Hail Mary: 'I wanna see consequences'

Virginia Tech had done it. They had pulled off a major upset over the No. 7 ranked Miami Hurricanes on a walk-off Hail Mary on the road – at least they thought they had.

With three seconds left, down 38-34, Hokies quarterback Kyron Drones threw a prayer into the back of the endzone towards a swath of both Hokies receivers and Hurricanes defenders

It was unclear who came down with the ball initially, as both teams got up celebrating thinking they had won the game. Eventually, the referees signaled it was a touchdown catch by Da’Quan Felton, giving what the Hokies thought was a 40-38 victory as time expired.

However, after a lengthy review, the call on the field was overturned. The pass was ruled incomplete, and the Hurricanes escaped with a 38-34 victory.

Hokies wide receiver Stephen Gosnell aired out his frustrations about the overturned call on X following the loss.

"(The) Acc knows what they did. I wanna see consequences," Gosnell wrote.

VIRGINIA TECH’S WALK-OFF HAIL MARY TOUCHDOWN REVERSED AFTER REVIEW; NO. 7 MIAMI AVOIDS UPSET

The ACC released a statement following the game about the replay review process for overturning the touchdown call.

"During the review process of the last play of the Virginia Tech at Miami game, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play," the statement said.

Gosnell was in the end zone fighting for the ball on what would have been the game-winning touchdown had the call on the field stood.

The loss dropped the Hokies to 2-3 on the season, and they will look to bounce back when they travel to play Stanford next week.

Miami improved to 5-0 with the win and will also be traveling out west to play Cal next week.

Arizona college student stabbed twice in random classroom attack

An Arizona State University student allegedly stabbed her peer twice in a classroom in Glendale on Sept. 19 in a seemingly random attack.

Maricopa County authorities charged Kaci Lenise-Charlie Sloan, 19, with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct with a weapon in connection with the attack against student Mara Daffron.

Daffron's neighbors created a GoFundMe for Daffron, saying she was "stabbed several times, but luckily, she is making great progress and is on the mend."

"We’d like our community to come together and support the Daffron family during this difficult time. These funds will go towards anything the family may need," a description for the GoFundMe page titled "Support Mara Daffron's Recovery Journey" states. "We know Mara will come out stronger than ever from this unimaginable attack."

INDIANA UNIVERSITY FRATERNITY BROTHER ACCUSED OF ATTACKING MULTIPLE FEMALE CLASSMATES IN ONE WEEK

Matthew McCormick, a student who witnessed the attack unfolding in their classroom, took swift action to stop the alleged stabbing, potentially saving Daffron's life, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

"In that moment I didn't really have a thought going through my head I just knew that I felt compelled to do something," McCormick told the outlet.

FOX TRUE CRIME PODCAST WITH EMILY COMPAGNO: 'CRIMES ON CAMPUS'

Approximately 13 witnesses present during the attack, including a professor, recounted the incident to police, who wrote in a probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital that the stabbing occurred "without any provocation or any words spoken."

Police corroborated McCormick's account in their report, stating that one of the witnesses "was able to disarm the defendant by pulling the knife away from the defendant's right hand and threw it [sic] away from them." Another witness then "kicked the knife to the back of the classroom."

"Another witness described the defendant [sic] was sitting in the classroom at a desk and suddenly got up and ran at the victim as the victim entered the classroom and stabbed her multiple times," the affidavit states.

Detectives found a handwritten note inside Sloan’s backpack that apparently referenced an act she was "about to commit," but it did "not specifically state what she was referring to."

JEWISH TEEN'S ASSAULT IN MICHIGAN UNDER INVESTIGATION AS POSSIBLE ANTISEMITIC HATE CRIME: POLICE

Sloan also apparently expressed the desire to "hurt somebody" in class that day in an interview with detectives after the alleged attack and chose to target Daffron because she was "an easier target" than the other person she apparently considered attacking, whom she referred to as "a veteran."

Authorities quickly arrived on scene and transported Daffron to a nearby hospital, where she received treatment for her wounds.

"ASU Police continue to investigate a Sept. 19 on-campus stabbing of a student. Kaci Sloan was immediately detained and arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; interfering with an educational institution; and disorderly conduct. She is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond," an ASU spokesperson told Fox News Digital in a statement.  "ASU and the entire ASU West Valley community are deeply saddened by what happened. ASU West Valley is a close-knit campus of students, faculty and staff. Counseling support is available to all."

Sloan has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday in Maicopa County.

Hillary Clinton celebrates decades of marriage to Bill after being ‘deeply hurt’: 'We just have a good time'

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton celebrated her nearly 50-year marriage to former President Bill Clinton despite "dark periods" throughout their relationship.

"I've said this for many years, nobody really knows what happens in a marriage except the two people in it. And every marriage I'm aware of has ups and downs – not public, hopefully for everyone else – and you have to make the decisions that are right for you. And I would never tell anybody else, ‘stay in a marriage, leave a marriage,’ whatever the easy answer is. And you know, for me and for us, I think it's fair to say we are so grateful that at this stage of our life, we have our grandchildren. We have our time together," Clinton told CNN's Fareed Zakaria in an interview that aired Sunday morning.

Clinton recently published her new memoir, "Something Lost, Something Gained," which included excerpts on how "both my marriage and Bill's presidency were imperiled" at the end of the 1990s. Bill Clinton's presidency was rocked by a sex scandal in 1998, with the 42nd president admitting to having an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky later that year.

Hillary Clinton did not cite Monica Lewinsky by name in her memoir or during her interview that aired Sunday, only referring to "dark periods" that threatened her marriage or "a very unfortunate" incident.

HILLARY CLINTON CALLED OUT FOR SUGGESTING AMERICANS SHOULD BE ARRESTED OVER DISINFORMATION: 'QUITE CHILLING'

"I write about how we start the morning playing spelling bee in bed. And, you know, Bill is like such a great player. He gets to Queen Bee almost immediately it feels like. We just have a good time. We have a good time sharing this life that we've lived together for now nearly 50 years of marriage. That's what is right for us, and that's really my, my message," Clinton shared of her marriage during the interview.

CNN COMMENTATOR BLASTS DEMOCRATS FOR HAVING BILL CLINTON AT DNC: 'QUIT' HIM, 'FINALLY PLEASE!'

The couple married on Oct. 11, 1975, meaning they will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year.

Bill Clinton was ultimately impeached over his affair with Lewinsky, charging him with lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice.

Hillary Clinton said that during "one of the darkest periods" of the impeachment, she felt "deeply hurt" by the scandal, while "on the other hand," she saw the incident as a "political ploy" to force her husband out of office.

CLINTONS ENDORSE KAMALA HARRIS HOURS AFTER BIDEN DROPS OUT

"I had to almost have a binary view of the world that I was living in my reality," she reflected of how she was feeling during the impeachment. "My reality, on the one hand, I was deeply hurt, deeply confused, really upset, angry. And on the other hand, I knew that this was a political ploy to try to drive, you know, Bill out of office, and I thought he'd been a really good president, and I resented that as an American citizen, that these hypocrites, who, you know, had all kinds of their own stories about, you know, marriage and everything else, were going after him because of a very unfortunate, you know, incident in his life.

BILL CLINTON RIPPED HILLARY'S CAMPAIGN AS NOT BEING ABLE TO SELL 'P---- ON A TROOP TRAIN,' NEW BOOK SAYS

"So on the one hand, I'm trying to make a decision about my life, my marriage, my future, my child, my family, which only I could make. On the other hand, I saw the hypocrisy and cruelty of what those Republican, you know, members of Congress were doing, and that that is a reality that people on the outside could never have understood.

"And you know, obviously I got tons of unsolicited advice from all sorts of observers, but my friends – and I have a whole chapter in there about how incredibly grateful I am to my friends – friends of a lifetime, friends you know, that have stood with me, have supported me, who, during that dark period showed up at the White House to be with me," she said.

NFL legend Jimmy Johnson torches Panthers owner David Tepper amid tumultuous start to 2024 season

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson teed off on Carolina Panthers team owner David Tepper over the handling of quarterback Bryce Young.

The second-year player was benched during the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and was replaced as the starting quarterback earlier in the week. Panthers head coach Dave Canales said it was his decision but noted that general manager Dan Morgan and executive vice president Brandt Tilis made their voices known in the matter.

Johnson said on "FOX NFL Sunday" before the Week 3 games began that the responsibility ultimately falls on the shoulders of Tepper.

"The owner of the Carolina Panthers – that’s the problem," Johnson said. "He’s making the major decisions without listening to his football people. David Tepper… Now, it’s his team, he can do whatever he wants to.

"But look at the people that’s left. He’s the one who wanted Bryce Young as the No. 1 pick.… Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Brian Burns, you look at Baker Mayfeld, Sam Darnold, look at coaches Steve Wilks, Frank Reich, Matt Rhule, on and on – he’s run them all off. He’s making the decisions. He’s got to listen to his football people and quit playing fantasy football."

Dalton got the nod for the Panthers’ Week 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Young was 18-of-26 with 84 passing yards in last week’s 26-3 loss to the Chargers. He hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since Christmas Eve 2024.

UN chief defends UNRWA, says only 'a few elements' participated in Oct. 7

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres defended the UNRWA's operations in Gaza on Sunday, saying only "a few elements" of the organization were affiliated with Hamas.

Israeli ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon claimed last week that the UNRWA, or United Nations Relief and Works Agency, is completely taken over by Hamas. Guterres has admitted that Hamas "infiltrated" the organization, but said during a Sunday appearance on CNN that there is no evidence behind Israel's claims.

"The fact is there was an infiltration with a few elements that indeed participated in the 7th of October," Guterres said, condemning the action.

"A lot of things have been invented that do not correspond at all to the truth," he continued. "Of course there are tunnels below the premises of UNRWA, as there are tunnels everywhere in Gaza. But there has never been any commitment of UNRWA in general to provide any kind of support to Hamas."

ISRAELI DEFENSE MINISTER: 'DOZENS' OF UNRWA STAFF TOOK PART IN HAMAS’ OCT 7 MASSACRE

Meanwhile, Israel has doubled down on its accusations regarding UNRWA. Danon accused Guterres and the U.N. of "burying its head in the sand" on the issue. Danon himself was defending an Israeli airstrike that hit the UNRWA al-Jaouni school in a Gaza refugee camp last week.

DOSSIER REVEALS INFORMATION USED TO EXPLAIN UN AGENCY'S DEEP TIES TO HAMAS IN GAZA

"Those who were killed in the IDF strike were nine terrorists with blood on their hands, and some of them participated in the barbaric massacre on October 7. In case there are still any doubts, there are the names of the Hamas terrorists who were at the school compound disguised as ‘local UNRWA employees,'" he Danon said.

The school, which was not operational, was being used as a Hamas command and control center, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

Just last month, Fox News Digital reported that UNRWA was forced to fire nine employees because of their likely involvement in Hamas’s slaughter of nearly 1,200 people on Oct. 7 in southern Israel.

The U.S. suspended funding to UNRWA because of the role some of its employees played in the Oct. 7 massacre. President Biden had initially restarted aid to the controversy-hit agency upon assuming office after former President Trump's decision to defund the organization in 2018.

New Idaho judge in Bryan Kohberger trial no stranger to brutal murder cases

Bryan Kohberger, the 29-year-old criminologist accused of a quadruple home invasion murder, will soon get a change of scenery after more than 18 months behind bars in the Latah County Jail in Moscow, Idaho.

In a one-page order signed by Idaho's Chief Justice Richard Bevan, the state's high court chose Ada County for Kohberger's trial, assigned District Judge Steven Hippler to the case and ordered Kohberger's transfer to a jail closer to the Boise courthouse.

Ada County has a larger courthouse to accommodate more members of the public and what is expected to be a large gallery of reporters for Kohberger's trial, which was scheduled to begin next year. And Hippler is no stranger to high-profile murder cases.

"Judge Hippler appears to be an experienced trial judge who handles serious cases," said David Gelman, a New Jersey-based defense attorney who has been following the saga. "This case, of course, will be an entirely different animal given the national interest it has generated."

BRYAN KOHBERGER GETS NEW JUDGE IN CHANGE OF VENUE FOR STUDENT STABBINGS TRIAL

Last month, he oversaw the trial of a brutal prison beating that was so severe the victim died from his injuries while in the hospital. In March, Hippler handed down a life sentence to a drunken driver who intentionally struck two pedestrians, one fatally, noting at sentencing that "[the defendant] has shown that the community is not safe with him in it at this time – and for a long time."

Last year, Hippler oversaw the conclusion of the murder case against David Randall, who tortured and beat his ex-girlfriend before stabbing her to death when she stopped by to pick up some belongings.

The killer initially pleaded guilty in a plea deal to avoid the death penalty, but then he tried to take it back. Hippler rejected his arguments and ultimately sentenced him to life in prison with a chance for parole after 25 years.

The victim in that case, Darla Fletcher, was stabbed more than 50 times with a screwdriver and a drumstick, the Idaho Statesman reported at the time.

And back in 2022, Hippler sentenced both parents of 9-year-old Emrik Osuna to life without parole for killing their son. He was tortured, beaten and starved to death, and police were able to recover evidence from a "nanny cam" running in their apartment. He also imposed a 100-year no-contact order barring the parents from speaking with their other children.

While Hippler has often agreed to prosecutors' sentencing requests, he hasn't imposed a death penalty. Records show he took the bench in 2013, and Idaho's last execution was carried out a year earlier.

Prosecutors in Kohberger's case have already said they plan to seek the death penalty if he is convicted. The defense is trying to have it taken off the table.

BRYAN KOHBERGER'S DEFENSE CITES IDAHO TOWN'S ‘MOB MENTALITY’ IN BID FOR VENUE CHANGE

Ada County is Idaho's most populous and includes the city of Boise, which is both the county seat and state capital. There are nearly 500,000 residents, compared to less than 40,000 in Latah County.

Latah County District Judge John Judge agreed to the defense's request for a change of venue last week. In his order, he wrote that the state's Supreme Court would make a final determination about where the trial would be moved.

Some Boise legal experts had anticipated Hippler's selection, according to Edwina Elcox, a defense attorney based in the city who once represented "cult mom" killer Lori Vallow, whose trial also took place in Ada County after a change of venue.

She said she expects the trial to be held as scheduled in June 2025, but the judge will likely make his presence known right away.

SIGN UP TO GET TRUE CRIME NEWSLETTER

"I think they will want to get things moving and established," she told Fox News Digital. "Judge Hippler will want his own timelines and deadlines set and strictly adhered to."

Prosecutors sought to have the trial held at the courthouse in Moscow, next to the jail where the 29-year-old Kohberger had been held without bail since shortly after his arrest in Pennsylvania at his parents' house, roughly seven weeks after the Nov. 13, 2022, slayings. He was transferred to Ada County over the weekend.

FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X

The defense complained the local community and media coverage were too biased for him to get a fair trial in Latah County, claiming he could face a lynch mob if acquitted. Ada County was on a list of three larger counties the defense said it would "gladly agree to" for a change of venue.

Kohberger is accused of entering a six-bedroom rental home at 4 a.m. Nov. 13, 2022, and killing four students inside with a large knife.

They were Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20 and Ethan Chapin, also 20.

All four were attending the University of Idaho, and the house, which has since been torn down, was just steps off campus.

Kohberger was studying for a Ph.D. in criminology at neighboring Washington State University, about 10 miles away across the state line.

Judge entered not guilty pleas on Kohberger's behalf at his arraignment in May 2023. Kohberger faces four charges of first-degree murder and another of felony burglary.

New poll indicates whether Harris or Trump has the edge in this key battleground state

A new poll conducted entirely after last week's debate indicates Vice President Kamala Harris holding a three-point edge over former President Donald Trump in the crucial battleground state of Wisconsin.

Harris stands at 48% support among likely voters in Wisconsin, with Trump at 45% in an AARP poll conducted Sept 11-14 and released on Wednesday. The vice president's three-point margin over the former president is within the poll's overall sampling error of plus or minus four points.

Democrat-turned-Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - who last month suspended his campaign and backed Trump - stands at 2% support in the poll, with Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 1%. One percent said they would back a different candidate, with 2% undecided.

A Wisconsin judge on Monday denied Kennedy's request to drop his name from the presidential ballot, ruling that state law requires candidates to remain on the ballot unless they die.

HEAD HERE FOR THE LATEST FOX NEWS POLLS IN THE 2024 ELECTION

Contributing to Harris' overall edge is an 11-point advantage among independent voters, as well as an 11-point lead among women voters compared to a 7-point advantage for Trump among men.

The poll also indicated a large geographic divide, with Harris far ahead among urban and suburban voters, while Trump enjoyed a large lead among rural voters.

WHAT THE LATEST FOX NEWS POWER RANKING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE SHOW

The poll's release also points out that "the educational attainment gap is large, with Trump leading non-college voters by 10-points, but Harris up 24-points among college+ voters."

When the third party and independent presidential candidates are removed from the questionnaire, the poll indicated Harris at 49% and Trump at 48% in a head-to-head match up, with 3% undecided.

The AARP survey is the fourth straight poll conducted this month in Wisconsin to indicate Harris with a slight edge.

Wisconsin, along with Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada, had razor-thin margins that decided the outcome of the 2020 election between Trump and President Biden. Additionally, these seven states will likely determine whether Harris or Trump wins the 2024 presidential election.

The Badger State, along with Michigan and Pennsylvania, are the three Rust Belt states that make up the Democrats' so-called "Blue Wall."

HARRIS-TRUMP SHOWDOWN ROCKED AGAIN, WITH 50 DAYS TO GO UNTIL ELECTION

The party reliably won all three states for a quarter-century before Trump narrowly captured them in the 2016 election to win the White House.

Four years later, in 2020, Biden carried all three states by razor-thin margins to put them back in the Democrats' column and defeated Trump.

Both the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees have made repeated stops in the state this summer.

Trump was most recently in the state a week and a half ago, with a rally in Mosinee. Harris returns to Wisconsin on Friday for a rally in Madison, the state capital.

The running mates are also making plenty of stops in the state, with Republican vice presidential nominee Ohio Sen. JD Vance holding a campaign event in Eau Claire on Tuesday and his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, visiting Superior last weekend.

Besides the White House battle, Wisconsin is also home to a crucial Senate race that is one of a handful that will likely decide whether Republicans can win back the chamber's majority.

According to the poll, Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin edges Republican challenger Eric Hovde 50% - 47% with 3% undecided.

The new AARP survey in Wisconsin was conducted by the bipartisan polling team of Fabrizio Ward (Republican) & Impact Research (Democrat). The firms interviewed 1,052 likely voters, which included a statewide representative sample of 600 likely voters.

Johnson moves forward on House vote to stop government shutdown with noncitizen voting prevention attached

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced Tuesday that he was moving forward with a chamber-wide vote to stop a government shutdown with a bill attached meant to crack down on noncitizen voting.

"Congress has an immediate obligation to do two things: responsibly fund the federal government, and ensure the security of our elections," Johnson said in a statement.

"Because we owe this to our constituents, we will move forward on Wednesday with a vote on the 6-month CR with the SAVE Act attached," he added. "I urge all of my colleagues to do what the overwhelming majority of the people of this country rightfully demand and deserve – prevent non-American citizens from voting in American elections."

Johnson is proposing a six-month extension of the current fiscal year’s government funding levels, known as a continuing resolution (CR), and attaching a bill known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which aims to require states to obtain proof of citizenship – in person – when registering an individual to vote and require states to remove noncitizens from existing voter rolls.

HOUSE GOP DOUBTS GROW AS JOHNSON DIGS IN ON FUNDING FIGHT: 'PLAYING WITH A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN'

Most Democrats oppose the CR with the SAVE Act attached, and the Biden-Harris White House has threatened to veto such a measure. The CR also maintains opposition from some House Republicans.

"Your bill does NOT responsibly fund government," Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., wrote, responding to Johnson's statement on X. "It’s 12 bills rolled into one bill that continues the profligate spending that’s ruining our country. The fact that you’ve added a 13th bill to it does not make it a serious solution. Please quit insulting our constituents."

"Like an undead but doomed zombie, the CR+Save Act is back," Massie added in a separate post. "Speaker Johnson is fake fighting by attaching a bright shiny object (that he will later abandon) to a bill that continues our path of destructive spending. I won’t be any part of this insulting charade. I’m a hell no."

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, R-Ga., condemned Johnson for calling the vote Wednesday, writing, "This is classic bait and switch that will enrage the base, only one month before the election, when they find out they have been tricked and let down again. The only way to make the SAVE Act a law would be to refuse to pass a CR until the Senate agrees to pass the SAVE Act and Biden agrees to sign it into law."

That, she wrote, would force a government shutdown on Oct. 1, "because Biden and Schumer both said they will shutdown the government as they are that adamant against the SAVE Act."

"Johnson will NOT commit to standing up against the Democrats in a shutdown fight and will allow passage of a clean CR in order to fund the government because he believes a gov shutdown will be blamed on Republicans and will hurt their elections," Greene continued. "Johnson is leading a fake fight that he has no intention of actually fighting."

"Even with a shutdown and full fight into Oct, it would be too late for the SAVE Act to make a difference for this election because absentee ballots would already be being mailed and early voting already starting. I refuse to lie to anyone that this plan will work, and it’s already DOA this week," she said. "Speaker Johnson needs to go to the Democrats, who he has worked with the entire time, to get the votes he needs to do what he is already planning to do."

"Congress cannot continue kicking the can down the road while our national debt skyrockets, our border remains wide open, and Biden and Kamala’s radical policies remain FULLY funded," Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Montana, wrote. "I have always and will ALWAYS be a NO on a Continuing Resolution!"

REPUBLICANS SAY SCHUMER MUST ACT ON VOTER PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP BILL IF DEMOCRAT 'REALLY CARES ABOUT DEMOCRACY'

The congressman who sponsored the SAVE Act, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, slammed Republicans threatening to defect on Johnson's continuing resolution on Tuesday.

"Now, there’ll be a govt funding continuing resolution before the election. Only questions: when it comes, how long it lasts, & what could’ve been achieved re: #SAVEAct & non-citizen voting. But a few ‘conservative' prophets write their self-fulfilling script to achieve failure," Roy wrote on X.

Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., also noted how "Ohio, Virginia, Texas, & other states found non-citizens on their voter rolls, with some even casting ballots."

"The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to vote and ensures non-citizens are removed from voter rolls. But Democrats want to shut down the gov so it does not pass," Tiffany wrote Tuesday.

The speaker could get some help from Democratic defectors. Five House Democrats broke from their party to vote for the SAVE Act earlier this year.

Former President Donald Trump has supported the SAVE Act.

Last week, the Republican presidential nominee said on TRUTH Social, however, "If Republicans in the House, and Senate, don’t get absolute assurances on Election Security, THEY SHOULD, IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, GO FORWARD WITH A CONTINUING RESOLUTION ON THE BUDGET. THE DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO ‘STUFF’ VOTER REGISTRATIONS WITH ILLEGAL ALIENS. DON’T LET IT HAPPEN – CLOSE IT DOWN!!!"

A CR through March would mean the government funding debate will be taken up by a new White House – run by either Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris – and a new Congress.

Trump assassination attempt: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pushes more charges against suspect

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would like to see an attempted murder charge brought against failed Trump assassination suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, which he noted carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Routh, 58, has been charged federally with possessing a gun with a scratched-out number and with possessing a gun illegally as a felon, though more serious charges are likely pending.

"I think this is an offense that should merit life in prison, and if we are not going to go to the fullest extent of the law, you are lowering the threshold into what someone in the future may try to do something like this," DeSantis said during a Tuesday morning press conference in West Palm Beach.

RYAN ROUTH, ARMED MAN ARRESTED AT TRUMP GOLF COURSE, POSTED PROLIFICALLY ABOUT TRUMP, POLITICS

The governor assigned Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody to investigate the assassination attempt against former President Trump on Sunday.

DeSantis said Florida’s Office of Statewide Prosecution may have a stronger case than the federal government.

"In my judgment, it is not in the best interest of our state or of our nation to have the same federal agencies that are seeking to prosecute Donald Trump leading this investigation, especially when the most serious, straightforward offense constitutes a violation of state law, not federal law," DeSantis said at the news conference.

TRUMP BLAMES BIDEN-HARRIS ‘RHETORIC’ FOR LATEST ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, SAYS HE WILL ‘SAVE THE COUNTRY’

Florida is conducting an independent investigation into the incident while federal authorities pursue their own.

"In addition to holding the suspect accountable, the public deserves to know the truth about how this assassination attempt came to be," DeSantis said. "I don't even know that the club is open yet. I think they open in October. I don't think it's even open for the members yet, so why would he have chosen now to burrow in?"

Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach did not immediately confirm whether it currently remains closed to members. Routh's attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

LAW ENFORCEMENT SOURCES IDENTIFY RYAN WESLEY ROUTH AS SUSPECT IN TRUMP SHOOTING

Routh was arrested Sunday after authorities spotted a gun poking out of the shrubbery on the golf course where Trump was playing that afternoon. Routh allegedly camped outside the golf course with food and a rifle for nearly 12 hours, phone records revealed.

Routh did not fire any shots, never had Trump in his line of sight and sped away after the agent who spotted him fired in his direction, officials said. He was arrested in a neighboring county.

"We'll see how it was that this guy was able to burrow himself in the bushes for apparently 12 hours and how that came to happen," DeSantis said.

ESPN's Stephen A Smith takes Taylor Swift dig at Travis Kelce as Chiefs star has quiet start to 2024 season

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has started the 2024 season slower than what fans would have expected going into the year.

After a ninth Pro Bowl season, Kelce has only gotten seven targets and has four catches for 39 yards. He only had one catch for five yards in the Chiefs’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals this past weekend.

Kelce was hurt in the first game of the 2023 season. When he finally got on the field, he had four catches on nine targets for 26 yards. He had a touchdown. In his second game, he had seven catches on eight targets for 69 yards and also had one touchdown.

The 34-year-old star player, who is nearing his 35th birthday, is looking exactly like that – a 35-year-old football player.

But is there something else to blame? ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith seemed to think so. He invoked Taylor Swift when talking about Kelce’s performance on Monday’s "First Take."

"I love my brother from another in Travis Kelce, but we saw more of Taylor Swift than we saw of Travis Kelce yesterday, on a Sunday afternoon," Smith said. "That wasn’t supposed to happen. We were supposed to see more of Travis Kelce yesterday than we saw of her.

TAYLOR SWIFT MAKES APPEARANCE AT PATRICK MAHOMES' 29TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

"That’s not happening though. You’ve got to get going, you’ve got 39 receiving yards in the first two games. Come on now. Football season is here. Honeymoon’s over. Let’s handle our business, OK."

It could be part of the game plan as well. Through the first two games, Kansas City’s tight ends have only been targeted 11 times – Kelce, Noah Gray and Jared Wiley all receiving the targets. The team has used Isiah Pacheco and Xavier Worthy as complements to Rashee Rice early in the year.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked whether teams were doing more to take Kelce away.

"They did have some things that they were attempting there," Reid said Monday. "He’ll get his catches. It’s not that he’s slowing down or any of that bit, that’s not what the deal is. It’s just teams focus on him and kind of know (that) he’s been Pat’s (Mahomes) go-to guy. What it’s done though, Soren (Petro), is that it’s allowed us to utilize the other guys around him and they’ve been productive."

But with Pacheco going down, one of the tight ends is going to need to step up more and get open for Patrick Mahomes.

Walz appointee with apparent CCP ties could expose potential veep's national security weakness: source

With Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz under congressional scrutiny for his connections to Chinese entities, one top lawmaker fumed at allegations he had appointed a Chinese political party member to a state board.

In August, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray requesting information on "Chinese entities and officials Governor Walz has engaged and partnered with" as part of its investigation into "elite capture" – or China’s strategy of developing relationships with U.S. political figures.

Last week, the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) reported that one of Walz’s chairperson appointments to the Council of Asian-Pacific Minnesotans (CAPM) is a person with ties to China’s third-largest political party.

HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE INVESTIGATING WALZ OVER LONGSTANDING CONNECTIONS TO CHINA

In 2021, Chang Wang took his seat as vice chair representing Chinese ancestry on the CAPM’s board. His term expires in January. Other ancestries represented on the panel include Tibetan, Polynesian and Bhutanese.

Wang, however, was or is one of 25 members serving on the Central Civil and Judiciary Committee of China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) [party]," the DCNF reported, citing an archived University of Minnesota biography.

In China, minor parties like CAPD effectively operate with the express permission of the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

CAPD Chairman Cai Daifeng has urged CAPD members to rally around the CCP Central Committee and properly advise the ruling party, according to Chinese state media Xinhua.

When asked about the news in light of his correspondence with the FBI, Comer said it is "deeply concerning."

GOP VETERAN LAWMAKERS DROP SCATHING ‘STOLEN VALOR’ LETTER AS TRUMP CAMP RIPS ‘FREAKISH TIMOTHY’

"Governor Walz’s documented history and cozy relationship with Chinese entities and officials is … a national security threat," Comer said.

"Based on information obtained by the House Oversight Committee, the governor’s decision to embrace China with open arms may have allowed the CCP to influence his decision-making as a congressman and governor and potentially would allow the CCP to influence the White House should Vice President Harris be elected."

The Kentucky lawmaker added that Americans deserve to have the full picture of Walz’s reported ties to the CCP.

"The committee will continue to push the FBI for all relevant information in its possession."

According to his CAPM biography, Chang studied filmmaking at Beijing Film Academy, holds an art history degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign and got his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota. His legal focus is immigration law, art law and foreign direct investment.

Fox News Digital reached out to Chang via his Kingsfield Law firm but was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Comer indicated that the FBI has "failed" to comply with his month-old request for information.

"The committee requested information about the CCP-affiliated entities and officials with which Mr. Timothy Walz has engaged, as well as any warnings or information the Federal Bureau of Investigation has provided to Mr. Walz or his office about CCP influence operations. The deadline to produce such documents and information has passed, and the Bureau has failed to provide any response to the Committee," Comer said, calling the bureau’s silence "inexcusable."

Walz has reportedly visited China about two dozen times, and Comer noted he organized a 1993 trip to the Communist nation for his students. He had been teaching high school in Box Butte County, Nebraska, at the time.

In 2007, Walz was a fellow at Macau Polytechnic University in the autonomous Macau region while he was a member of Congress.

"Macau Polytechnic University exists ‘in alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative,’ a political warfare program developed by President Xi Jinping to exert China’s influence worldwide," Comer said in a separate statement.

However, Chang told DCNF that his elderly parents are his only ties to China. The outlet added that his current University of Minnesota bio does not include his Chinese political affiliation as the archived link had.

Chang’s parents were scientists at a Chinese academy whose work contributed to military products, according to a Pentagon document.

"Walz… can’t explain away the pattern," China expert Gordon Chang told Newsmax in a recent interview regarding evidence of ties to Chinese entities.

Walz is not the first Democrat to receive attention for his alleged ties to China or Chinese interests.

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., has batted back criticisms in regard to Fang Fang, a suspected Chinese spy who had worked to develop "close ties" with his office as early as 2014.

Swalwell said previously that when the FBI alerted him to Fang’s potential ties to Chinese espionage, he "did everything I hoped everyone would do, which was to cooperate and help the FBI – and she was removed."

Similarly, when the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., was notified by the feds that her professional driver of 20 years was also suspected of similar ties, she fired him.

Earlier this month, police in New York State arrested an aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul on charges of conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling and money laundering conspiracy.

Linda Sun was hired by the executive chamber "more than a decade ago," Hochul said in a statement, adding that the Empire State fired her in 2023 over evidence of misconduct. Hochul's office said Sun was first hired by the executive branch a decade ago – a timeframe that would instead have placed Andrew Cuomo in Albany.

Fox News Digital also reached out to Walz’ office in St. Paul and the Harris campaign for comment.

Throwing these items in the trash could get you into trouble

There are several items that cannot simply be tossed in your trash.

Each state has different laws regarding the disposal of certain products.

If you come across an item that you're not sure how to get rid of, make sure to check local guidelines to ensure that you are disposing of the object properly.

OZEMPIC AND WEGOVY NEEDLES REQUIRE PROPER DISPOSAL, HEALTH OFFICIALS SAY - HERE'S HOW TO THROW THEM AWAY

Below are a few common items that cannot be thrown away in your trash and where to toss them instead.

There are many auto items that can't be tossed in the trash.

Instead of throwing them into the trash, you can reach out to a local auto shop, which typically will recycle your old tires for you when you get new ones, according to budgetdumpster.com.

You can also contact a registered scrap transporter in your area that may be able to take care of your old tires, per the source.

You can also bring them to a recycling center that allows for their disposal.

Many people choose to save money by changing their motor oil themselves.

If you take this route, it's important to know where to dispose of your old oil, as it's illegal to throw it in the garbage.

CHILD CAR SEAT SAFETY: EXPERT SHARES DOS AND DON'TS TO PROTECT KIDS FROM ACCIDENT INJURIES

When you change the oil in your car, set aside the container the new oil came in.

This ensures that when it comes time to change your oil again, you can reuse the same container to safely transport your used oil.

You can bring used oil to a recycling facility or to an auto center.

In most states, it's against the law to dispose of used lead-acid batteries at the landfill, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If car batteries are disposed of in a landfill, they can release lead and lead contaminated sulfuric acid into the environment as they corrode, per the source.

You have a few different options for how you can dispose of car batteries.

First, you could take it to an auto shop, such as AutoZone, where you can exchange your battery for a git card, according to AutoZone's website.

You can also bring the battery to a metal recycling establishment, or bring it to a facility that handles hazardous chemicals.

There are certain batteries that you can throw in the trash and others that you shouldn't.

For example, alkaline batteries, which include the standard AA, AAA and 9-volt batteries, can be tossed in the garbage.

NEW BATTERY HAS DOUBLE THE POWER AND FRACTION OF THE DANGEROUS CHEMICALS

However, button cell or coin batteries, such as the ones used for calculators and watches, contain silver and mercury and should not be thrown in the trash.

Instead, the EPA recommends that you bring them to a battery recycler — or look to see if any retailers will take them off your hands.

Ridding your household of electronics can be a bit of a pain.

The easiest way to get rid of an old cellphone is by trading it in for a new one.

Many carriers will take care of your old device for you.

Electronics stores often have their own recycling programs, so you can also look into these as well.

Just keep in mind that whenever you're getting rid of an electronic device like a smartphone or tablet, make sure to factory reset it to wipe your personal information.

Televisions also cannot be thrown in the trash, as they contain glass, lead and other chemicals that are dangerous to the environment.

Similar to the disposal process of a cellphone or tablet, try an electronics store and see if it will take care of recycling your device.

You can also contact your local recycling facility for additional information on how to dispose of your television.

Additionally, consider giving your device to a friend or donating it to a thrift store.

If you have a thermometer that contains mercury, it cannot be thrown away with your regular trash.

Many thermometers imitate mercury but are labeled "mercury-free." These thermometers can be thrown away normally.

If you have a thermometer containing mercury that you want to get rid of, you can donate it to small businesses or universities.

Another option is to locate a hazardous waste collection facility in your area.

Paint can be toxic and dangerous.

If you need to get rid of latex paint, remove the top and let it dry out before tossing it in the trash.

To speed up the drying process, combine the mixture with cat litter and allow the mixture to set.

If you have an oil-based paint that needs to be disposed of, it must be taken to a drop-off center so that it is safely tossed.

Florida sheriff tells parents to ‘do your job’ after students allegedly make bogus school threats

A Florida sheriff has called out parents and students after saying his agency spent nearly $21,000 investigating dozens of hoax school threats posted on social media in less than a day.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood spoke Friday at a news conference alongside Volusia Public Schools officials, describing the situation as "absolutely out of control."

Chitwood said that 54 threats were reported to the Fortify Florida app, which allows citizens to report suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies, in less than 24 hours.

"That means investigators in the school district have been running around the clock to investigate these tips, which are all turning out to be false. So far, it's cost $21,000 to do these investigations," the sheriff said.

GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING 911 CALLS RELEASED: ‘HIGH CALL VOLUME’

Fox News Digital has reached out to the sheriff's office for more information about the cost of the investigations and how they will be paid.

A 13-year-old student and 14-year-old student at Heritage Middle School were arrested and charged with making written threats to kill, a felony, after allegedly posting about committing a school shooting on TikTok and Instagram. A possible third suspect is being investigated.

Chitwood said that law enforcement will "come after" parents of kids who make bogus school violence threats.

"Parents, you don't want to raise your kids, I'm going to start raising them," Chitwood said. "Every time we make an arrest, your kid's photo is going to be put out there. And if I could do it, I'm going to perp walk your kid so that everybody can see what your kid's up to."

GEORGIA SCHOOL SHOOTING SUSPECT'S FATHER ASKS FOR SEPARATION FROM OTHER INMATES, CITES ‘PERSONAL SAFETY’

The sheriff said that if a parent knew what their child was up to and did nothing, he'd make sure the parents would get perp-walked with their child.

"This is absolutely ridiculous," Chitwood said. "Go talk to the families who have lost a loved one in a school shooting. These little knuckleheads think it's funny. Go talk to those parents and see how funny this is. It's not."

The sheriff’s remarks come less than two weeks after a 14-year-old student shot and killed two 14-year-old students and two teachers at Apalachee High School near Atlanta.

Dem congressman says Trump should talk about dropping out after debate

Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., suggested former President Trump should consider dropping out of the presidential race following his performance in Tuesday night's debate.

Moskowitz issued a statement on Wednesday titled, "Trump’s ability to continue campaign," and it echoed sentiment aimed at President Biden following his clash with Trump earlier this year.

"If we are being honest, last night’s debate performance by former President Donald Trump was disastrous and hard to watch," Moskowitz said.

"I believe now is the time for the former President to have those difficult conversations about whether or not he should continue serving as the Republican Party’s nominee for President," he continued. "For now, I want to give him the space to meet with his family and make that decision."

TRUMP SAYS PROJECT 2025 'GOES WAY TOO FAR' WITH ABORTION RESTRICTIONS

Polls from the debate show most viewers believe Harris came out on top. A CNN poll of debate watchers had 63% saying Harris won by the end of their 90-minute contest, compared to 37% for Trump.

Nevertheless, Trump's performance has not set off the widespread shock and concern among Republicans that surged through the Democratic Party following Biden's debate performance in July. That concern ultimately forced Biden out of the race, endorsing Harris instead.

ABC DEBATE MODERATORS SPARK FURY FOR AGGRESSIVE FACT-CHECKING OF TRUMP, EASY TREATMENT OF HARRIS

Contacted regarding Moskowitz' statement on Wednesday, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung replied, "Moskowitz is a f---ing moron," according to The Hill.

Trump reacted to his performance late Tuesday night on "Hannity," saying he believes it was his "best debate ever," though he lashed out at ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis.

ABC'S LINSEY DAVIS RAISES EYEBROWS WITH ABORTION FACT-CHECK AGAINST TRUMP: ‘COMPLETELY INTERJECTS HERSELF’

"I thought it was really good. We had three against one, but I anticipated it," he said.

Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Trump about reports Harris’ campaign wants a second debate in October, and whether he would be open to it. Fox News has extended a formal invitation to both the Trump and Harris campaigns for a second debate next month.

"She wants it because she lost," Trump responded. "I don't know. I have to think about it. But if you won the debate, I sort of think maybe I shouldn't do it. Why should I do another debate? She immediately said we want another debate. That's... you know what happens when you're a prizefighter, and you lose? You immediately want a new fight."

Political analyst accuses ABC of soft treatment on Harris' policy flip-flops: 'Biggest failure' of night

Journalist Mark Halperin accused the media of protecting Vice President Kamala Harris "at all costs" after Tuesday night's high-stakes ABC News Presidential Debate.

"Not only was one news organization fully on board to continue through Election Day protecting her at all costs, but we saw in the coverage of the debate, which was laughably uneven, no recognition that it was laughably uneven. In fact, mostly praise for how great a job ABC did," Halperin said during a livestream on his media platform 2WAY on Wednesday.

The ABC debate's co-moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis sparked criticism from conservatives after they fact-checked Trump five times during the heated event and failed to correct Harris a single time. The moderators were also accused of letting Harris off the hook on getting her to explain why she shifted her positions on several past progressive policies.

A former ABC News political director, Halperin said the moderators' soft treatment of Harris' policy flip-flops was the "biggest failure of the night."

ABC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE: MODERATORS DAVID MUIR AND LINSEY DAVIS FACT-CHECK TRUMP 5 TIMES, 0 FOR HARRIS

"Bigger to me, was last night was the best — and if the Harris campaign continues to hide her, maybe only chance — to get her to explain her issue position changes. That to me was the biggest failure," he said.

While Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, have sat down for at least 44 interviews since the Harris-Walz ticket was formed, Harris and her running mate have only sat down for seven non-scripted interviews, with less than two months to go until Election Day.

The debate could've been the only opportunity left for Harris to explain her shifting policy positions, he argued.

"They asked her one question, she didn't answer it, and then they dropped it completely," Halperin said.

Towards the end of the debate, ABC's Linsey David did bring up Harris' past support for abolishing private healthcare before asking the candidate what her current healthcare proposal was.

FOX NEWS MEDIA PROPOSES SECOND HARRIS-TRUMP DEBATE MODERATED BY MARTHA MACCALLUM, BRET BAIER

Former President Trump's performance was also panned by Halperin as the "worst [presidential] debate performance I've ever seen."

Trump failed to get his message across about Harris being a far-left radical, he argued.

"Last night he demonstrated what most of us thought was the case: He's utterly unable to do it," Halperin said.

Despite what he saw as biased media coverage and a poor performance from Trump, Halperin wasn't convinced the debate would have a big impact on the polls.

"There may be movement, there may not," he said.

Lawyer defending Google in DOJ case prepping Harris for debate is 'conflict of interest,' Jordan investigates

FIRST ON FOX: The House Judiciary Committee is requesting a briefing from the Justice Department on how it is working to combat "potential conflicts of interest and political bias" in its lawsuit against Google, amid reports that the Big Tech giant’s lead attorney is helping prep Vice President Kamala Harris for the debate against former President Donald Trump.

Fox News Digital obtained a letter House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday morning.

"The Committee on the Judiciary and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government continue to conduct oversight of how and to what extent the Executive Branch has colluded with companies and other intermediaries to censor lawful speech," Jordan wrote.

HARRIS PREPS FOR DEBATE WITH GOOGLE LAWYER, CREATING 'CONFLICT OF INTEREST,' TRUMP CAMPAIGN SAYS

Jordan went on to cite a Fox News Digital report that revealed that the lead attorney defending Google in U.S. v. Google LLC, a high-profile antitrust case led by the Justice Department, is simultaneously advising and prepping Harris for the debate against Trump on Tuesday night, hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia.

Karen Dunn, who is Google’s outside counsel through law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, is listed in the lawsuit as a "lead attorney."

Dunn is also on Harris’ campaign team to prep her for her debate against Trump. Dunn also advised Harris ahead of her 2020 vice presidential debate against then-Vice President Mike Pence.

The Trump campaign, last month, called out a potential conflict of interest.

"In light of existing evidence that the Biden-Harris Administration pressured and colluded with Google to censor the lawful speech of American citizens, we write to request a briefing about how the Department of Justice is working to combat potential conflicts of interest and political bias in United States v. Google LLC," Jordan wrote.

HOUSE WEAPONIZATION COMMITTEE: BIDEN ADMIN 'COLLUDED' WITH BIG TECH, 'FACILITATED THE CENSORSHIP OF AMERICANS'

"This apparent conflict of interest raises serious concerns about whether Dunn’s relationship with key figures in the Biden-Harris Administration creates a conflict of interest that could inappropriately bias the Department’s approach in United States v. Google LLC," Jordan added.

Jordan reminded Garland that when he was nominated attorney general, he pledged to "guarantee the independence of the Department from partisan influence."

"This assertion is hard to square with reporting that Ms. Dunn is leading debate preparations for Vice President Harris while she also leads Google’s defense against a Biden-Harris administration lawsuit," Jordan wrote.

Jordan said that "given this potential conflict of interest," he is requesting a briefing on how the DOJ is working to combat "this and other potential conflicts of interest and political bias" in the Google case.

Jordan asked that DOJ staff arrange the briefing by Sept. 24.

Neither the Harris campaign nor Dunn responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment on Dunn's work ahead of the debate.

The Justice Department confirmed receipt of the letter, but declined to comment on the matter.

The revelations come after Google came under scrutiny following the assassination attempt against Trump. Google’s autocomplete search results did not initially register the July 13 assassination attempt against Trump.

Google admitted that it initially blocked and eliminated search prompts for the assassination attempt against Trump, saying they were prohibited by design and part of the company’s policy to prevent search results for "hypothetical political violence against current figures."

"We do not allow predictions that can be interpreted as accusations against individuals or groups of serious malevolent acts, where there is a lack of well-established or expert supporting evidence," he said.

NFL legend Tom Brady eager to call Cowboys-Browns Week 1 game: 'Let's go'

Tom Brady is ready for his broadcasting debut.

Brady will be the color analyst for Sunday afternoon’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field alongside Kevin Burkhardt. He appeared on the "FOX NFL Sunday" pregame show and said he was more than ready to get started.

"You know what? I’m done with all the rehearsals," Brady joked. "Thank God. I had more times in dark closets in the studios in LA. I’m so happy to be here in Cleveland. It’s 65 degrees. It’s sunny.

"Look, I want to cut it loose, too. I want to be able to get out there and get some live reps, too. I’m really excited about today. I got the best team. I’m so happy to be on your guys’ team. It’s a pleasure for me. It’s an honor to be here to call this game in front of so many million of fans watching, and it can’t get here any sooner than 4:30.

"I’m ready to go. L.F.G. Let’s go!"

In 2022, FOX Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch made the announcement during a company earnings call that the seven-time Super Bowl champion would be joining the sports network’s top announcing team at some point following the conclusion of his illustrious football career. Brady was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the time.

A LOOK AT TOM BRADY'S JOURNEY TO THE BROADCAST BOOTH AHEAD OF HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT

Brady decided to delay his foray into the broadcast booth by a year, but eventually committed to starting the second act of his career in 2024. Since then, he has been practicing as much as he could to perfect the new skill.

The New England Patriots legend spoke to FOX Sports during halftime between Texas and Michigan.

"Obviously super excited, there's little anxiety," Brady responded when asked about his emotions ahead of his debut. "There's been a lot of preparation that's gone into it from a lot of people, and it's been a couple years' journey. But, I think the thing that's most exciting to me is I get to get back to NFL football. Being up here in the booth.

"I've got the best partner in Kevin and Erin (Andrews) down on the field with (Tom Rinaldi). . . We've got a great group. There's so many talented people that I get to work with, I get to be a part of a great team. And I get to cover a sport I absolutely love."

A second Trump presidency has the UN fearing for its future, employee caught on camera reveals

A recent undercover video showing a United Nations legal affairs employee saying the world body is scared of a Trump presidency is shining a new spotlight on Trump’s policy toward many of the U.N.’s scandal-plagued agencies.

The U.N. Office of Legal Affairs official was recorded on an undercover video stating, "I’m not sure the United Nations as an institution is going to survive a second term by Trump." The Louder with Crowder podcast conducted the undercover recording and first disclosed it.

While the Trump campaign did not respond to requests for comment, as president he was viewed as being very tough on the world body by taking an aggressive posture against U.N. corruption, anti-Americanism and antisemitism while pushing American interests.

ISRAELI DEFENSE MINISTER: 'DOZENS' OF UNRWA STAFF TOOK PART IN HAMAS’ OCT 7 MASSACRE

Trump stopped funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Fox News Digital reported in August that the U.N. had been forced to fire nine UNRWA employees over likely involvement in the Hamas massacre on October 7 of nearly 1,200 people in southern Israel, including over 30 Americans.

Trump withdrew from the U.N. Human Rights Council; the U.N.’s World Health Organization; the U.N.’s cultural organization UNESCO; and the Paris climate agreement.

A U.S. State Department spokesperson for Trump said at the time the decision "reflects U.S. concerns with mounting arrears at UNESCO, the need for fundamental reform in the organization and continuing anti-Israel bias at UNESCO."

Biden quickly rejoined the U.N. bodies, including the Paris climate deal, that Trump walked away from during his term. However, Biden suspended funds for UNRWA after its role in the Hamas terrorist attack was exposed by Israel.

DOSSIER REVEALS INFORMATION USED TO EXPLAIN UN AGENCY'S DEEP TIES TO HAMAS IN GAZA

In 2021, former Trump U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned the White House about rejoining the Human Rights Council, because it is influenced by communist totalitarian regimes like China and Cuba, to name just a few.

"If President Biden truly cared about human rights, he would keep us far away from the cesspool that is the U.N. Human Rights Council," said Haley at the time.

A senior Republican Congressional staffer who works on international affairs told Fox News Digital, "There are a list of things that are standard Republican positions now, which will happen immediately after President Trump reenters the White House, along with policies that he pursued in his first term which he will re-implement."

The staffer continued that "First and foremost, they will withdraw the U.S. from participating in the anti-American, antisemitic organizations across the United Nations that the Biden-Harris administration has been engaging and funding. They will also order our diplomats to start pushing back against international policies that undermine our interests, instead of trying to implement them the way the Biden-Harris have been doing."

UN ENVOY FOR SEXUAL VIOLENCE UNDER FIRE FOR NO-SHOW AT MEETING ON HAMAS' HOSTAGES HELD IN GAZA

When asked about the staff member's comment, Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the U.N. Secretary General, referred Fox News Digital to his comments at his recent press briefing. He said, "The gentleman you refer to is not a senior U.N. official. He is a junior staffer.  From looking at the video, his comments were recorded in what seemed to be in a restaurant private setting without his knowledge. He was not speaking on behalf of the Organization in any way, shape or form."

He added, "But I will just state for a fact that this is not–you know, when someone is recorded without their knowledge in a private setting, I don't think any good journalist could interpret it as being the official position of the United Nations."

Anne Bayefsky, president of Human Rights Voices, told Fox News Digital, "So the U.N. gets caught weighing in on the U.S. election vehemently against Trump and the response is, "Who, me?" she added, "Today’s U.N. has forsaken its original purpose and threatens American fundamental rights and freedoms. One side of the American political spectrum tolerates America-bashing and Israel-hating under the guise of a phantom global messiah, and the other side gets it. Of course, the U.N. is afraid that Americans will get it, too."

Bayefsky concluded, "Obviously the U.N. has a mutual love affair with Democrats: Obama went to the Security Council to adopt the far-reaching and catastrophic Iran deal before bothering to ask Congress; Obama-Harris-Biden joined and legitimized the U.N. 'Human Rights' Council – home base for despots and antisemites looking to burnish their human rights credentials while Trump withdrew from it; Obama-Harris-Biden support UNRWA while Trump said no more money for the fake Palestinian U.N. ‘refugee’ agency perpetuating the Arab-Israeli conflict; Obama-Harris-Biden have used the Security Council to bludgeon Israel with resolutions that have never condemned Hamas while Trump repeatedly rejected U.N. ploys to do an end run around American and Israeli sovereignty."

Later this month, the United Nations will host world leaders for the annual General Assembly debate where some of the globe's most despotic regimes will get to address the world body.

Sen. John Fetterman makes prediction for Trump and Harris debate: ‘It's going to be close’

Sen. John Fetterman on Sunday acknowledged that both former President Trump and Vice President Harris can hold their own in a debate, saying that whatever happens during the ABC News Presidential Debate in Philadelphia on Tuesday, "it will be close."

Fetterman, D-Penn., made the remarks during an appearance on CNN’s "State of the Union" while responding to a question about what Harris must do during the debate to win over key voters in battleground state Pennsylvania.

"I also want to just say that it's going to be a straight-up debate," Fetterman said. "She's going to do great, of course, but Donald Trump will be good, too. I mean, we can all remember he wrecked all of the Republicans. He's a good debater. But at the end of the day, I don't believe this debate's going to be definitive because it's going to come down to this choice, and it's going to be close."

Fetterman said Pennsylvania "is always going to be close" in terms of votes during the presidential election, and thinks that the focus of voters will be on "order" versus "chaos."

TRUMP SLAMS ABC AHEAD OF PIVOTAL NETWORK-HOSTED DEBATE: 'THEY'RE THE WORST, THEY'RE THE NASTIEST'

"I think a majority of Pennsylvanians are going to decide, ‘Hey, I want four years of order and fairness and unity and a different way forward.’ And I don't think they want the kinds of dark days and chaos that Donald Trump provided for our nation," the senator said.

TRUMP CLAIMS NO ‘LIFTS’ OR ‘STANDS’ WILL BE ALLOWED AT DEBATE WITH KAMALA HARRIS

Trump campaign adviser tears into VP Harris: She can 'run' but she can't 'hide' from Biden's record

Vice President Kamala Harris can run, but she can't hide from her ties to the Biden administration's record, Trump campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski said in a cryptic warning on Sunday.

Speaking to Fox News' Howard Kurtz, Lewandowki railed against Harris' apparent shift in policy positions, including on top issues like border security and fracking and even her more recent move to follow in Trump's footsteps to call for an end to taxing tips for service industry workers.

"She's never been a leader. She should not be promoted. She's continuously changed her position," he said.

BERNIE SANDERS SAYS HARRIS DROPPING FAR-LEFT POLICIES ‘IN ORDER TO WIN THE ELECTION'

"She continuously takes over the Trump agenda on the positions that Donald Trump has, that he's articulated to the American people because she knows that the agenda that she and her boss, Joe Biden, and her running mate Tim Walz, have is so outside of the mainstream that she's unelectable because of it," he added.

Harris previously declared her intention to ban fracking, a position she has since rescinded. She also formerly criticized Trump's tough stance on border security but has since walked back that rhetoric and toughened her own stance.

VOTERS REPORT KAMALA HARRIS IS MORE RADICAL THAN TRUMP: ‘TOO LIBERAL OR PROGRESSIVE’

On the note of moving toward the center, Kurtz pressed Lewandowski on a number of apparent shifts coming from Trump, including his language surrounding abortion and decriminalizing marijuana.

"Those are positions that most of the American people aren't voting on. They're voting on crime. They're voting on national security issues. And most importantly, the No. 1 issue we continue to see is the economy. It's always the case in the question you have to ask yourself: are you better off today than you were four years ago?" he said.

2024 SHOWDOWN: ANTI-TRUMP REPUBLICAN LIZ CHENEY SAYS SHE'S BACKING KAMALA HARRIS

"That relates to the issue of pro-life," he continued. "Donald Trump appointed three pro-life judges that are sitting on the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade, so it goes back to the states. The states now decide, through the elections, what those laws are going to look like. What happens in Kansas and Ohio may be very different than what happens in a state like New York or Arizona."

Democrats continue to insist that the former president, if elected, would push for a national abortion ban despite the Trump campaign touting its role in returning the issue to the states for the people to decide.

The Democratic Party has also made abortion an integral issue in the 2024 race, stressing their support for restoring a national abortion right.
